That is hilarious! I love the way the people on the bikes are following it around. It's like you went into it, and entered another dimesion where everyone rides a bike.
@@trainfanatic4083 HI! Lalalalaaaa. Yeah I've always been obsessed with nature, weather and tornadoes specifically. I watch these kinds of videos all the time.
Excellent video. You ran into the tornado with your camera. Good job. Funny seeing all those people chasing it on the backside that you couldn't see as you were moving towards it.
hahaha it was shot at burning man. a bunch of bikers with heads full of LSD and other assorted entheogenic substances… biking into a giant dust devil… XD sounds magical
i've seen many small ones in the snow at the top of a hill i used to sleigh ride at when i was younger. I used to think they were awesome, but this is AMAZING!!!
I'm trawling the internet, looking for examples of dust devils rotating the "wrong way", which demonstrates that, at the smaller scale, the Coriolis Effect has little or no influence on their direction of rotation. This is one of several that I've now found. I've had a quick look through the comments and someone did actually notice that it was rotating clockwise - and no, it's not defying the laws of physics.
I love this video! I can feel and hear your breath and your pounding heart! I felt Like if I was there! You were nervous, weren't you? a little scared maybe? What a rush! I loved seeing all those people gather around that mystical wind. It was so tribal, so mystical!
so glad you went in,,i dont mean that in a nasty way,but i really wanted to get in there.. it looked, and sounded amazing, looked a bit like a mini tornado..brave lady,,brilliant footage..
A dust devil is colume of hot air rising and meets a pocket of cooler air above. Stationed at NTC for several years, so got to see many of these, up close and personal. On a good day, you could see the dust rise up and were it tops out in the cooler pocket.
I grew up in that area and remember these well. Getting caught in them wasn't a whole lot of fun and always tried to out run them, that sand stings like hell when it pummels the body. This video brings back a lot of fond memories.
that sand... (((i rape kids {{in the key of ..may-bull}} and {{we don't want to hurt your framed global man, whom we taught everything, but....}} and "i'd rather rape you" ---- SEE MARKER, POOR JADY LESTER: 19y. ago, 17y. ago, 19y-o-uTUBES AND TRULY SPEGHETTIFYING
lol the guy on the huge bike! Those damn hippies, they probably think theres some kind of spirit trapped inside the funnel and they need to chase it down a free it.
the feeling of inhaling sand and all that.....not something i would willingly subject myself to lol but the idea of being in the middle of all that is pretty interesting haha
I'm the fool on the bike with the yellow shirt. I saw a piece of plywood about a yard square hit the front tire of another bicyclist, go over his head, then hit the back tire and fly away. Although following the tornado-dust devil was stupidly dangerous, IT WAS SO WORTH IT! (Especially since I didn't get hurt). -Jim Hobson San Francisco
A winter waterspout, also known as a snow devil, an icespout, an ice devil or a snowspout, is an extremely rare meteorological phenomenon in which a vortex resembling that of a waterspout forms under the base of a snow squall.
Dust devils: This is a very conscientious video. These creatures-like hay devils-live but a short while, are relatively docile & actually like to play. They always seem to show up where people are having fun (bike riding, camping, parks, sports events etc.) While the term "Shirru" generally refers to "whirlwinds", still is to be distinguished from "Typhon" species, which are aggressive, longer lasting & far far more virulent.
it sounds like ur voice was quivering but that is awesome. i like the man with the red flare runing into it. i want 2experience that. shit looks awesome
I've never ran in to one, had my share of blowing sand as a helicopter armament tech in the army. I did see about 30 of varying sizes off the freeway west of Phoenix, that was a cool site. no matter where you looked there were dust devils!
They occasionally do get that strong. As to being mostly harmless, winds in the high 60s or 70s of mph (which you might find in an F0 tornado, or, very rarely, a strong dust devil) can blow you down which can result in injury.
This looks like it should be a scene from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Strange gathering of high people on bikes chasing dust devils. "Our Main character is having a revelation"....
Good thing that these things do just very minimal damage, maybe move a few lawn chairs around a bit. but you don't want to get too close, you might get dust in your eyes just like you did in the last 30 seconds :P
Goggles and a dust mask would be nice and anything that is not bolted down could easily become an object which could seriously hurt you, like hit you in the face or impale you... Those look like 30-40-50mph winds. Small rocks and dirt could damage your sensitive eyes...and the dust and dirt would make you want to bathe immediately. Oh well, thanks for sharing your experience.
This thing looks like it's trying to get away from the crazy people chasing it....lol! This time it's the "tornado/dirt devil" running from the people instead of the people running from the "tornado/dirt devil!
i have seen dust devils too once one of those came over my garage roof when i was up there it was a small one but whith fast moving air in a small area made a sound too i knew it was not going to be adanger to me of course if you where handling large pieces of tin or plywood that could be different these happen in saskatchewan in the summer i got to say the one shown here was rather impressive
That dust devil is clearly the leader of a "biking for a good cause" group. You can see the mass number of bikers trailing it.
All that dust in your face. Your eyes must have been burning, man.
He prolly had a mask on
hahahaha please tell me that pun was intended BURNING MAN AHHH
Dust in your eyes dosnt burn
Tony Butler Scene when the fuck would put a mask on just to fucking go in a dust devil asshole
Ilike Cookies well I would it’s common sense I don’t want dust in my lungs dumbass
That is hilarious! I love the way the people on the bikes are following it around. It's like you went into it, and entered another dimesion where everyone rides a bike.
Capturing a dust devil with circulation that strong is quite rare I would have thought. Brilliant footage.
That was awesome. Left me smiling today, thanks.
Onni is that you? Lol, what are you doing here?! 😀😀
@@trainfanatic4083 HI! Lalalalaaaa. Yeah I've always been obsessed with nature, weather and tornadoes specifically. I watch these kinds of videos all the time.
@@RebeccaStout Haha same. Tell Onni and Sunny I said hi! God bless 🙏🙏🙋
Thank you for braving it so we could experince some of what you felt and seen.
What? No witches flying on brooms?!
Merlin doesn't need a broom bitch! ;)

Its all fun and games till you get dirt lung.
Laser Guided Troll Master From Hell right or legit cancer
...actually running into it! You beat the devil.
she's a bloody badass!
Thank you very much for posting this vid. First one I've seen and it is nice to know what it is like inside a dust devil like this one.
Then it turns into a mini tornado while inside... OOF
For some reason this is one of my favourite videos on youtube, soo surreal..

I loved the way all the bikers were leaving and you were going into it. Great video!
H*ll yeah
Ya
This might be the coolest thing I've ever seen on youtube.
There NOT Dangerous
this video is fantastic. the silence makes it genuine. an afternoon subculture. the red duck could not have visited at a better time.
i've seen many small ones in the snow at the top of a hill i used to sleigh ride at when i was younger. I used to think they were awesome, but this is AMAZING!!!
That duck made this video so much more epic then the bikers riding into a dust devil hahaha
we didnt have any clean tight ones that big that i saw this year. great video. Love the peeps chasing it down, prolly creating it! ;p
I love the random devil-duck who is just sitting in the middle of it...

that was fun:) I think the people at the end of the film really enjoy it
that was cool, I liked how all the bikers were riding through it at the end.
man these things never get old
Dust devils, the one kind of twister you can actually screw with.
A few big thermals drifting through. what a sight!
EXCELLENT camerawork. Thanks for sharing.
the number of bicycles amazed me more than the dust devil
I love how all the bikes fallow it.
Whoa that must've been a pretty cool to experience,
... she just got closer...and closer...and closer...and closer..
Got to love how all those peeps just have fun going inside, like no big deal. 😂 But hey, from afar it looks pretty impressive, for sure! :')
I love this video!
I can feel and hear your breath and your pounding heart!
I felt Like if I was there!

What a rush!
I loved seeing all those people gather around that mystical wind. It was so tribal, so mystical!

LOOOOL??? I thought that those people are running for "their lives"...and they are running in the dust devil and just n'joying it :DD
I agree! I didn't see anyone else go through until you did, then it was open season!!
This is so awesome! I would also ride into it! Oh yeah!
I grew up in that area and remember these well. Getting caught in them wasn't a whole lot of fun and always tried to out run them, that sand stings like hell when it pummels the body. This video brings back a lot of fond memories.

I think what I love most about this is the fact that they're all chasing it. xD
lol the guy on the huge bike!
Those damn hippies, they probably think theres some kind of spirit trapped inside the funnel and they need to chase it down a free it.
That is the closest thing you can get to something that would rip your limbs apart. So REAL, and would love to do what the camerman did. Nice job!!!!!
the feeling of inhaling sand and all that.....not something i would willingly subject myself to lol
but the idea of being in the middle of all that is pretty interesting haha
lol nice. thank you for posting this. That looked like fun.
This is one of the coolest video On youtube.
thats really beautiful im jealous, the only mini nado u can play with
xD I love how they have so much fun, chasing a possibly dangerous fenomenon :D
Haha I love how everyone is racing towards it. It's great. Oh shit? A dust devil? Hell yyeeaahh :)
Beautiful. I hope to see another one in real life again.
3:25 was friggin surreal. Red Devil Duck looked like it appeared then peeled off. WOW.

Man, imaging the bike crashes. lol
If u got a crash on film i woulda lol'd alot more!
Good dust devil and good going into it!
I love the imagery of all those folks bicycling through it. Biblical!
"Honestly, Jason. If your friends ran into a tornado, would you do it?"
"Ummm.. Are we on our bikes or....?"
Every time I go outside I'm surrounded by an invisible dust devil.

That looks so fun! You most have some serious balls to go in there. xDDD
"Dude, that was the best biking day ever."
"I know right, I felt like I went right through a Dust Bunnies hell."
At first the bikers were like:
"Ah, screw it."
Toward the end.....
"OH MY FREAKIN' GOD! GOODBYE!"
But then at 3:33.......
"Let's go in it! WEE!"
it sounds like ur voice was quivering but that is awesome. i like the man with the red flare runing into it. i want 2experience that. shit looks awesome
Something like this is probably where the myths of the Genies was formed.
Yee Haaa! A facefull of dirt!! How cool is that!
Very.
Ahh, that would freak me out, big dust devils remind me too much of tornados
Man i think that so cool. If i was there i would of road my bike in to it to. excellent video!!!!!!!!!!!
I've never ran in to one, had my share of blowing sand as a helicopter armament tech in the army. I did see about 30 of varying sizes off the freeway west of Phoenix, that was a cool site. no matter where you looked there were dust devils!
lol like a fantastic world where people play with tornado in other planet greatness :D
AWESOME! That's a big dust storm! COOL! THUMBS UP!
They occasionally do get that strong.

very cool everyone was riding inside the dust devil
I would do that if I had the chance to in a heart beat! That looks SO fun! :D
A snow devil would be sweet to see, but it'd hurt, all that ice!
3:22 Duck: Miss! MISS! He-hey! Help a wittle duckie- aww damn you.
everyone just walks by like "yea you shoulda seen the one that hit yesterday" lol
3:24 that duck is so brave being in that dust devil

that was great!!! i wish it were me that was running into that.
I'm in Florida, and have never seen one. I had NO IDEA that they ever got that big.
This thing looks like it's trying to get away from the crazy people chasing it....lol!
This time it's the "tornado/dirt devil" running from the people instead of the people running from the "tornado/dirt devil!
That was awesome !!!
The last 40 seconds remind me of the race-car scenes in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
What's really cool is that the circulation is anti-cyclonic.
