  • The Danish String Quartet arrived at the Kaplan Penthouse for its Mostly Mozart debut with a fascinating program that began with Mozart’s arrangements of The Well-Tempered Clavier followed by Thomas Adès’s kaleidoscopic fantasy Arcadiana and Beethoven’s earth-moving Grosse Fuge.

A compelling interpretation of Arcadiana, capturing that longing for all we have lost, deeply affecting.....

A fantastic performance of the Grosse Fugue. I have heard several, but now this is my favorite.

What is that beautiful piece at the end? Carl Nielsen... is that one of the string quartet arrangements or one of the folk songs?

Not bad, but personally I like the folk music a lot more.
