A beautiful, elegant design, John. Thank you for this one. I love the dried flower heads poking through the top of the arrangement. Quite interesting. For some reason, this arrangement reminds me of a woman I knew many years ago, who always had flowers on her dining room table. Flowers she put together herself from what she had in the garden or on hand. Thank you for that memory jog! Hope you are well, my Friend!
@@stepps511 thank you so much. It is lovely as well when we get a flower memory, and it shows that flowers are important in our lives. It’s quite a traditional design with the little dried bits bringing it more up to date. I’m good thank you - feeling Christmassy now! 🎄 the decs are up! Hope you are well and getting organised.
@@FlowerJoos Indeed, the season is "on"! My little tree and lights/decorations are in place. This Saturday I'm off to Longwood Gardens for their Longwood Reimagined Christmas. Several brand new conservatories to enjoy! A Longwood Christmas is beyond description. All good wishes, John! Stephen
So lovely! Every January, when I'm on Flower Arranging duty at Church, I use off-cuts from our Christmas tree - the scent is wonderful! I love the spikiness, too, it makes a terrific contrast to the softer flowers and foliage (usually laurel from the Church garden.) I learn so much from your videos - thank you!
@@maggiebrinkley4760 thank you so much - and why not reuse the foliage 😊. It’s a good base and it saves cutting new material. That is a good tip to share.
Thanks John! I usually make a Christmas table with evergreen and roses etc but I just have it for the day or two (if I have those little test tubes for the roses. This would work much better and last longer, especially for the roses. I don't yet have the covered wire netting but I'll find it! I'll find a similar tray as well! As you suggest, I'll put the evergreen outside sometimes. I've got some "dead" hydrangea which I might use as well. Quite gorgeous!
@@lynnemcnab3093 if the roses are tubed then this would be ok without water in the container as the pine and spruce tend to last well out of water. So just use the wire as a support essentially! Enjoy creating your design and adding your own decor! 🌲🦌🌲
Fabulous. Love your creative vision as it reminds me of a modernised style I saw growing up with my florist mum. Will be making a very similar arrangement but with faux flowers to survive the summer holidays in NZ. Merry Christmas
Hi John! Been a long time ! Hope you have been well. Beautiful arrangement as always. Are you ready for Christmas? I'm trying to get in the mood ,hopefully get the tree decorated, It's been so cold here and snowed already, it's early For South Eastern Ohio. Have a Blessed Christmas ! Rebekah.
