  • Today we take a look at the largest Imperial ship in warhammer 40k
    The Gloriana class
    At 380mm this guy is sure to dwarf other ships on your tabletop
    This glorious proxy is available for 3d printers at www.myminifact...
    Soul Forge Studios makes some of the best battlefleet gothic or WARFLEETS: FTL proxies that exist and they are easy to print.
    We printed the ships both in FDM and in Resin on our Ender 3 and Elegoo Saturn. We scaled both to 117% to match other prints we've done in this universe
    We use Siraya tech Fast Gray resin for all of our resin printing you can get some here while supporting us by purchasing through our affiliate link siraya.tech/pr...

    It's what, about 16" long? Big by miniatures standards and tabletop play, but have you really never gamed with model kits? Used to be middling common at cons and a few big game clubs, particularly with the Star Trek crowd using Zocchi's Star Fleet Battle Manual or some Star Fleet Battles variants. Saw quite a bit of Starblazers stuff too, and some really big kitbashes and homebrew space stations. You played with 3-4' tall weighted stands (often modded sheet music stands like you see in grade school band classes) on an uncarpeted floor, usually in a gym or convention hall. 8" was a small ship in that kind of game, and 2' long wasn't uncommon for the bigger dreadnoughts. Haven't seen anyone put on a game like that since the 90s, but it was quite the experience. There was some Battletech madman who did something vaguely similar with a full-blown planetary invasion aerotech scenario using true-scale dropships and a pocket warship along with flocks of fighters about 8-10 years back, but that's the last time something that grandiose cropped up that I know of.
    Pity, really. Made for terrific visuals at conventions.

      I saw something like that at GenCon one year. I thought they were using retractable car radio antennas.

    there ARE a few ships that are BIGGER in the Imperial Navy, but most of those are one off's.... also, would love to see ALL the ships from gothic scaled up... then again, i'd be happy just to have access to ALL the files for printing ANY ship in gothic...

    Did you FDM print the weapons bays an turrets or were those resin printed?

    • @PulsefiredGaming
      @PulsefiredGaming  Год назад +1

      Yes. I did a complete ship in resin and a complete ship in fdm

      BFG minis are way too effing big. Every model should be half the length that it actually is, if not a third or even a quarter. Now that we can 3d print them, I think it would be a good idea to try to build consensus for a smaller scale standard that people could agree to.
      The models take up so much space that it's often hard to actually do close range formations or close range fights :(

    Do you think that is it possible to print smaller ships in FDM ?

    • @PulsefiredGaming
      @PulsefiredGaming  Год назад

      Absolutely. I did a few recent videos that highlight smaller ships in fdm

    Where did you get the stand?

      That is the bwreyolds full thrust stand with the correct mount peg modeled in by me. If you have a 3d printer the files are sold on cults3d under bwreyolds

      Rule of cool. Originally it was designed to go on a tabletop alongside star wars armada ships.
