Exactly, the Trojan horse 🐴 was a gift to the Trojans from the Greeks, which led to the destruction of Troy. I don’t want a gift that leads to the destruction of Australia 🇦🇺

The more I research, the stronger my NO gets. We need a "voice" cry the yes mob. 11 members of Parliament sounds like a voice, $30 + billion a year plus mining royalties is not bad for "no" voice, 50+% of Australia under native title and another 400 pending in NSW alone, sounds like a voice to me, hundreds of Gov agencies and advisory groups for aboriginal affairs, sounds like a voice to me . We have a voice, what we need is accountability from those who get the money.

The phrase "we want to walk with you people" was said by Vincent Lingiari, an Aboriginal leader, in 1966. He was addressing the Australian government at a ceremony in which he accepted a land rights agreement on behalf of the Gurindji people. The full quote is as follows: "We don't want money. We want our land back. We want to walk with you people as equals." In 2007, Lingiari's words were inscribed on a plaque at the Australian Parliament House. The plaque reads: "We don't want money. We want our land back. We want to walk with you people as equals." This quote proves that aboriginals are not one or homogenous. Vincent Lingiari got land rights, equals, and money. But that was then and now is now. A new or revitalised brew has surfaced on that success to demand more. So for the PM it is a poison Challis, and for Australia, it is a Trojan Horse. Both these situations appear to be be gifts, but they are not.
Another great episode Wes. No doubt mate, you're a breathe of fresh air and common sense! I love the fact that you are not confrontational but you explain your point of view and leave others to form opinions. I fear that Aboriginal people will be tagged with a negative view because of the disgraceful way the Prime Minister has hap-hazardly and irresponsibly forced this 'voice' upon the Australian population! If I thought for a moment that this 'voice' would help people in remote Australia, I would support it, but I just can't help the belief we are being deceived by Albanese and a few self righteous, wealthy and power hungry members of the aboriginal community. Please, if you have a different view, I I am open to any other opinions!
Thank you for this refreshing and common sense approach to analysing this complex issue. I too have been trying to research this issue to make an informed decision, and what little information was available just confused me and didn’t seem to add up.
Clearly and succinctly presented. I agree with everything you say. Whenever I hear someone using vague, emotive, "mystical' language I start to count my fingers. Well done, mate, and thank you.
Yes I'm quite a bit surprised that there aren't hundreds if not thousands visits to this wonderful and every informative channel. Hopefully they will come eventually. Thank you Wesley, once again.
In the schools of the purest of whitey white white cities of the 60's and 70's, we respected Aboriginal history and knowledge. There was goodwill and affection for our shared heritage and PRIDE in the fact that we were now ALL Australians combining our strengths to become a great nation. But in one fell swoop, Albo is undoing decades of blending, mending and unification, under the banner of "reconciliation". Such a tragedy. We are one - one people, one nation, no colour, no race.
Lol listen to the controlled opposition who's funded through the land council to support what ever he's told..... the gravy train of the land council is tasty
Now you have overlooked terra Nullius being proven legal fiction and the fact that our lands our resources is lawful under international law. No declaration of war or treaty has this recognised as an Illegal occupation under international law. Your rent is overdue
May I add this as my take on this issue, back in 1967, I did at the referendum of the time did give the Aboriginal, as many Australians did also vote, yes well 90% of Australians voted YES, so that they could vote in all government elections. Therefore they already have an equal rights as any other Australian to vote and make their own minds up as to whom to vote for.
Thanks again, Wes. You are a beacon of rationality and an argument against the demise of modern civilised discourse. I also think that any changes to the Constitution should be done carefully and for the right reason, with the emphasis on “reason”. Not “feelings”. Not out of a calculated lack of empathy, but because feelings are ephemeral and ultimately individual. Logical reasoning is, perhaps arguably, universal.
Thank you Wesley - you are a calm voice amongst the current tensions. Teddy Bear biscuit etiquette? Freud probably has something to say about those who eat the head first …! 😅

The last time I looked, this country was a DEMOCRACY, one person one VOTE !! The Voice is the first step in implementing the Uluru statement which wants a treaty and compensation via a percentage of the GDP, on top of every other concession, reparation, compensation, land rights income, royalties and government services and payments already received. It states that they don't want to only give advice they want sovereign power.

@@Simon-lb2iu It does. That comment is just straight fearmongering. It implies that voting for the Voice will automatically lead to "treaty and compensation". It won't - because the Voice will ONLY be able to provide advice. If the No side wins at the Referendum, people who want to can still pursue "treaty and compensation" without the Voice existing. The absence of the Voice will not affect their aims at all. (In fact, if the Voice is voted down, it may spur some others who may have been happy with the Voice, to chase "treaty and compensation") Therefore, the Voice is NOT critical to anything else mentioned in the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
Thank you. I am trying to see both sides of this debate before making my choice, so what you have to say is very interesting. Oh, and to answer your question at the end. You start with the feet. Then you can do the theme from Jaws.
I'm all excited about the referendum and can't wait to put in my NO vote. The more " unbiased " and supportive information I see, the more I'm against.
Considering that an aboriginal elder in central Australia, said his signature is on the statement, but was not put there by him, should ring alarm bells. So the question should be how many indigenous elders didn’t know their names are on this document?
@@AnotherDoug RUclips channel, The Australian, under the headline, Indigenous leaders speak out against proposed Indigenous voice to parliament. If you click on the more word, you will see that numerous elders were surprised to see their names on the document.
Changing the Constitution comes before the legislative details. This video does demonstrate that "Aboriginal Australia" isn't a monolith. Many peoples walking many countries and wanting to walk different ways and different directions.
I'm a bit concerned that the co-creators examples shown here look about as white as me during summertime. I would prefer not to have any racial divisions in this country. However if we must insist, I would question if remote-traditional living full bloods would look up to these people as their leaders or as just more white people.
Voice, treaty and detail, Land and property grab, money, and division. Didn’t they already have a referendum in 1967 to recognise indigenous people in the constitution? Before anything is done there needs to be an audit and investigation as to where all this money has gone, what it has been spent on and also an investigation into the elders, the indigenous councils, and other bodies including the niaa. Where is the audited report, logistics, due diligence, governance laws, bills, stakeholders, policies, procedures, overseerers ? If the tribes cannot all get along how are they going to implement a voice on their behalf. Unfortunately every time we ask questions, we get no emails in return or answers, obviously they are hiding something. Nonna must stay, 🙏
During my visits to Aboriginal communities in South Australia (S.A.), the Northern Territory (N.T.), and Queensland (QLD), I observed a strong sense of community among the people. They appear to lead simple lives and are deeply connected to their communities. It's evident that they have a preference for their traditional ways of life and governance, which sharply contrasts with Western ideologies and governance imposed upon them of forced work. While some white individuals of partial Aboriginal heritage advocate for change, the genuine Aboriginal population values happiness and prioritizes their connection to a world which unfortunately has seen significant ecological destruction. The need for change extends beyond mere constitutional modifications; it encompasses every aspect of leadership and civilization. Australia should embrace a more nomadic lifestyle, reminiscent of traditional practices, where respect for all living organisms is paramount. Unfortunately, what we see instead is a society grappling with the highest depression rates globally, with suicide ranking as the leading cause of death among individuals aged 15 to 45. And the leaders of mass extinction and environmental destruction. This situation is deeply concerning. To address these issues, we should consider a return to the ancestral roots of tribalism within Aboriginal culture, emphasizing community and harmony with the environment as guiding principles. This approach might offer a path toward a more sustainable and mentally healthier society. We need to stop development as it has only lead to harm for Australia.
These videos are important because we need to be informed before making a decision on which way to vote. They're really helpful and I appreciate you're efforts to help educate people. P.S. I eat Teddy Bear biscuits head-first 👍

Every parent has the responsibility to,protect feed and. Raise their children,if you can't do that don't have children,if we had a RSPCA for kids in Australia, they would be pretty busy, and its not just a black fella problem,
They never ceded sovereignty because they never had sovereignty. In 2007, the UN came up with ‘Indigenous Sovereignty’ defined as ‘spiritual’ and deriving from historical connections to land.’ Aren’t we are all entitled to connection to country?
If the voice was an organic grass roots organisation idea then l would of heard it from the people on the ground first and foremost and not the rest of us in the mainstream that do know or don't even care
It's bloody nice to hear sensibility, instead of hype and nonsense spruiked by some emotional clown with no first hand knowledge of the cause of the issue

So when the voice comes in all the problems for indigenous will be solved, can't wait to see that then the billions can be spent on fixing the whole country.
Why there is no referendum among the indigenous Australians asking if they want Anglos to have voice in the parliament in Australia? It seems more logical given it is the anglos who are not native and occupy rhat land.
No detail is a huge problem. The other chapters specifically prescribe duties, authorities and accountabilities...the proposed new chapter does not have any. That goes against the whole structure of the Constitution. On that ground alone the model is flawed.
The Constitution does not mention a Prime Minister. You would think that is a detail that should be there - but society has not collapsed. The Constitution does not talk about how many employees the tax department should have - but it seems to function OK. The Constitution is NOT a place for details but principles or concepts. There is some detail here voice.gov.au/about-voice/voice-principles
It's a gift. It's an invitation. Are these genuine gestures of unity? Well it may be prudent to remember their perpetual declaration of war on non-indigenous Australia - "Always was, Always will be." That doesn't sound too gracious to me.
We seem to be powerless as a society to distinguish between two very distinct groups of people: 1) Those who are both racially and culturally very different, living outside of of the culture of our suburban society, who rightly ask "why are you mob making decisions for us?" versus (2) People who are members of our suburban society, who are culturally indistinguishable from us, who talk and act like us, who even share a lot of the same ancestry as us, but have some ancestry from the first group. It feels like a total scam that the likes of Pat Anderson and Megan Davis, who are successful members of OUR collective tribe (modern, European/migrant derived suburban Australia), can claim to be representatives of the first group and demand control of money and institutional power within the modern society that they have thrived in.
Based on projections for 2022, among Indigenous Australians: 38% (344,800) live in Major cities. 44% (395,900) live in Inner and outer regional areas. 17% (155,600) live in Remote and very remote areas combined (Figure 2, ABS 2019b). More than 99% are mixed blood of varying degrees who self identify as Aboriginals. There are about 5000 genuine full blood native Aboriginals left in Australia, none in Tasmania.
Personally, this proposition does not 'feel' like a gift i.e. the Oxford Dictionary definition: GIFT, a thing given willingly to someone without payment. I recall reading that Malcolm Turnbull's government agreed to fund the initial dialogue at Uluru and since then significant funding has been set aside for its development and implementation (around $27.7 million of public funds), so in no way does the Uluru Statement from the Heart, meet the aforementioned definition of a 'gift'. Perhaps there is a deeper meaning here that needs to be better communicated.
NO, you must only eat them when they are doubled with crunchy peanut 🥜 butter between them… as to the referendum… it is sad that indigenous aboriginals who are currently in seats of power are incapable of being the voice for Australians of any heritage let alone the aboriginal heritage ; will these incompetent individuals be stood down once the referendum is finished… who will weep the most, for the country, the mother of all indigenous people born from her loins; when this referendum tears her apart…
Where would we be if the Dutch had planted their flag here first, or the French? Where would this whole argument be if the Brits had not been at war with the Dutch, the French and the Americans when the Brits had planted their flag? Where would "Terra Australis Incognita" be now?
Due to the insincerity of our Prime Minister in saying The Uluṟu Statement is only one page when in fact it is about 20 pages according to one of the Chairs of The Uluṟu Statement Committee, I will be voting NO!
Agreed, and these pages weren't just random notes or minutes from meetings, they were carefully structured with numbered footnotes. The principal authors and advocates are on the record several times saying that "the Ulhuru Statement from the Heart isn't just one page". Albanese knows this and to say otherwise is in my view deceitful.
Sure, that is a considered reason to discard a once-in-a-lifetime request to acknowledge the First Peoples of Australia in the Constitution and give them a Voice to advise the Government drirectly on matters that directly affect them.
Albanese thinks he’s a genius, trying to BS is way to a win, Australians are not fools, we can smell a rat when it’s placed right our feet. The only fool is Albanese for trying to divide Australians against Australians, after the referendum is resoundingly defeated, I recon he won’t last long as PM
Nobody is stopping anybody for all of us to walk together and as far as I can see we are. There is a new multi storey (10 or more levels) student accommodation at Redfern. I heard that the cost of redeveloping that area was going to cost 250 million. Not sure what the final figure would be. Nobody objected to any of it. Everyone should have the opportunity to study at university if that is what they want. As for the gift they speak of. What is being given? A lot of division and bad feelings is all I am seeing. I have heard that this truth telling could take up to ten years. As we have no details of this who can say! In the truth telling will anything nice to be said. Somehow I don’t think thats the point of it. So not much a gift there more a slap in the face for the untold billions we have forked out. Will the reparations be a gift? Yes our gift so nothing there. It just sounds like gaslighting. As a third gen Aussie from poor Irish background I really want to leave this country now. There is nothing here to feel good about! Just full of division. Why do ordinary folk who have never done anything wrong have to endure all of this?

And this so-called truth telling means that we only hear the good things about Aboriginal history and the bad things about white history. Sounds more like propaganda and censorship than truth
As the Prime Minister cannot provide full details, until after, it may be risky to vote Yes. It would be better if there were two questions in the referendum. 1: Do you support an Aboriginal Voice to parliament etc., etc. 2: Do you want it to be permanently enshrined in the constitution. Unfortunately that won't happen, so I believe that we should all be cautious on this matter, and vote No.
It won’t happen because it’s designed to get the voice through without Australians understanding what the referendum is really about. According to the polls, Australians are waking up and they can smell a rat. I’m voting No.
If its a gift to Australians inviting us to walk with them, does that mean people with any indigenous heritage are not Australian? I'm having a hard time getting my head around the Orwellian doublespeak 😞
The constitutionally binding Voice will give power of attorney over tribal lands. The Tribesmen do not recognised those with a European ancestry as Aboriginal and the proponant's of the Voice know it. That's why they have set up an election system that excludes the lawmen, elders or spirit men from ever holding office. The land council's do the same, meeting the wishes of the multinationals who govern our politicians, surely people have come to realise that fact since 2020. It's a power grab by Canberra and the big losers will be these remaining Tribesmen and there is no way I will support the abuse of this ancient culture. You only have to look at the education programmes for tribal kids in the Kimberley to see what's actually going down. The key Federal Government department sponsoring the education programmes is not the education department it's the Department of Minerals and Energy. It's a big no from me. Leave the Tribesmen alone !!
The Voice will be restricted by the Constitution itself to giving ADVICE only. It will not be able to "give power of attorney over tribal lands". What power can be grabbed by an ADVISORY body?
I don't fully understand the 'truth' part of this proposal. Does this mean that our history (good AND bad) will only be told from an Aboriginal perspective?
@@BigGen222 What I said above are facts which can be easily fact-checked by reading the proposed Constitutional amendment. How, therefore, can it be wrong?
The Constitutional amendment is contained in the official Referendum Booklet issued by the Government in the last week to all households. You can also find it here: voice.gov.au/referendum-2023/referendum-question-and-constitutional-amendment The Constitutional amendment says: ~ the "... Voice may make representations ..." It doesn't mean negotiate a treaty or reparations or anything that others are saying it can do) ~ "on matters relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples;" (The Attorney-General has defined what "matters" will mean: • matters specific to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; and • matters relevant to the Australian community … but which affect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples differently to other members of the Australian community.” ministers.ag.gov.au/media-centre/speeches/constitution-alteration-aboriginal-and-torres-strait-islander-voice-2023-speech-30-03-2023 ~ "the Parliament shall, subject to this Constitution, have power to make laws ... " The Solicitor-General has released his official Opinion on the proposed Constitutional change and confirms that it - will not require the Government to consult the Voice; and that - it gives Parliament the ability to make all the legislation necessary to ensure that the Voice cannot challenge any Government decision (so, no involvement of the High Court) www.aph.gov.au/DocumentStore.ashx?id=ea88212c-eccc-45d2-822c-8578fa96895c&subId=740367
@@AnotherDoug Maybe you would benefit from listening to footage from Mayo, Pearson, Reid, Davis and Langton. They are very keen to wield cash and power
@@cobar5342 The only power the Voice will have is to provide advice to the Government. The Voice will NOT manage money or deliver services, so nothing there to wield either.
@@cobar5342 I don't need to listen to them - they are no longer relevant to the Referendum. I only need to read the Constitutional amendment and the Solicitor-General's official Opinion that confirms the Government can do what they said in respect of the Voice and confirms the Voice cannot be used for any other purpose; that is it cannot be used to negotiate a treaty or anything else. It will have no power other than to give advice.

The phrase "we want to walk with you people" was said by Vincent Lingiari, an Aboriginal leader, in 1966. He was addressing the Australian government at a ceremony in which he accepted a land rights agreement on behalf of the Gurindji people.
The full quote is as follows:
"We don't want money. We want our land back. We want to walk with you people as equals."
In 2007, Lingiari's words were inscribed on a plaque at the Australian Parliament House. The plaque reads:
"We don't want money. We want our land back. We want to walk with you people as equals."
This quote proves that aboriginals are not one or homogenous.
Thank you. I share this with friends and family and they love it!
Please, if you have a different view, I
I am open to any other opinions!
Thank you

We are NOT voting on a treaty or compensation or anything other than recognition and the Voice, an advisory body.
@@AnotherDoug You are right, But this doesnt contradict @janicepanton5976's statement.
(In fact, if the Voice is voted down, it may spur some others who may have been happy with the Voice, to chase "treaty and compensation")
Therefore, the Voice is NOT critical to anything else mentioned in the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
Its the vague language used that annoys me . Its deliberate.
And I thought a pair of socks was the worst gift ever. 🤦♀️

RUclips channel, The Australian, under the headline, Indigenous leaders speak out against proposed Indigenous voice to parliament.
If you click on the more word, you will see that numerous elders were surprised to see their names on the document.
Thanks for covering the questions we all have. It has helped me to have an informed decision.
Geniue question. What details are missing? I feel it's pretty clear
The man appearing in this channel is brilliant in all respects.
Brilliant because you agree with it. Pity that the guys a sell out.... look at where he's funds come from
It is a gift, like the Trojan horse was a gift from the greeks
Changing the Constitution comes before the legislative details.
This video does demonstrate that "Aboriginal Australia" isn't a monolith.
Many peoples walking many countries and wanting to walk different ways and different directions.
I'm a bit concerned that the co-creators examples shown here look about as white as me during summertime. I would prefer not to have any racial divisions in this country. However if we must insist, I would question if remote-traditional living full bloods would look up to these people as their leaders or as just more white people.
So, you don't want any "racial divisions" but you start off by making a comparison of apparent skin colour.
@@AnotherDougit’s a good question though….how can someone blame “being Aboriginal” for their disadvantage if their ancestry is 90% white?
@@AnotherDoug By law I have to vote on this in a few weeks time. And I can't see how it's not a racial question. If not racial the is it religious. ??
Totally agree with you. you make things sound so clear. Ohhh by the way. definitely feet first lol
If the government hasn't done it's research, why should I? Vote no and vote them out at the next election. We need intelligence in parliament.
Head first, that's the most humane way.
Voice, treaty and detail,
Land and property grab, money, and division.
Thank you Wes.
These videos are important because we need to be informed before making a decision on which way to vote. They're really helpful and I appreciate you're efforts to help educate people.
P.S. I eat Teddy Bear biscuits head-first 👍

The Voice is becoming like a blob of quicksilver. Quicksilver is the alternative name for the metal Mercury. Quicksilver is so named for its mobility, it cannot be corralled or pinned down.

Ginger nuts are best dunkers thank you for your insight.

Nice to hear that you're chooks are starting to lay again. So are mine.
We seem to be powerless as a society to distinguish between two very distinct groups of people:
1) Those who are both racially and culturally very different, living outside of of the culture of our suburban society, who rightly ask "why are you mob making decisions for us?"
versus
(2) People who are members of our suburban society, who are culturally indistinguishable from us, who talk and act like us, who even share a lot of the same ancestry as us, but have some ancestry from the first group.
The Voice will NOT have "control of money" or "institutional power".
See the Voice Principles voice.gov.au/about-voice/voice-principles
Personally, this proposition does not 'feel' like a gift i.e. the Oxford Dictionary definition: GIFT, a thing given willingly to someone without payment. I recall reading that Malcolm Turnbull's government agreed to fund the initial dialogue at Uluru and since then significant funding has been set aside for its development and implementation (around $27.7 million of public funds), so in no way does the Uluru Statement from the Heart, meet the aforementioned definition of a 'gift'. Perhaps there is a deeper meaning here that needs to be better communicated.
I'll have to take you on your word for that as the document (as expected), wasn't exactly easy reading for the layman:)

Or, you could try to understand it a bit more deeply to decide how risky it is. (Hint: it is not risky at all)

We are ONLY voting for Constitutional recognition and an ADVISORY body, called the Voice.
We are NOT voting for truth telling.
@@AnotherDoug I think you are wrong on this occasion.

The Constitutional amendment is contained in the official Referendum Booklet issued by the Government in the last week to all households. You can also find it here: voice.gov.au/referendum-2023/referendum-question-and-constitutional-amendment
The Constitutional amendment says:
~ the "... Voice may make representations ..."
("make representations" means give advice. It doesn't mean negotiate a treaty or reparations or anything that others are saying it can do)
~ "on matters relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples;"
(The Attorney-General has defined what "matters" will mean:
• matters specific to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; and
• matters relevant to the Australian community … but which affect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples differently to other members of the Australian community.” ministers.ag.gov.au/media-centre/speeches/constitution-alteration-aboriginal-and-torres-strait-islander-voice-2023-speech-30-03-2023
~ "the Parliament shall, subject to this Constitution, have power to make laws ... "
The Solicitor-General has released his official Opinion on the proposed Constitutional change and confirms that it
- will not require the Government to consult the Voice; and that
- it gives Parliament the ability to make all the legislation necessary to ensure that the Voice cannot challenge any Government decision (so, no involvement of the High Court) www.aph.gov.au/DocumentStore.ashx?id=ea88212c-eccc-45d2-822c-8578fa96895c&subId=740367
