An absolute masterpiece of a movie. An epic tragedy of a man trapped inside a machine, trying to regain his humanity, while seeking vengeance against those who took his life from him. Timeless.
A brilliant dystopian, Sci-Fi satire on capitalism, consumerism, and the militarization of the police force. The two sequels that followed were pointless pieces of drek because everything that needed to be said in the first movie already was. The second attempted to copy the format of the first what with the commercials, but it just seemed gratuitous and shallow.

Those goons have zero self preservation instinct. The best part of this scene is Weller's physical acting, kinda walking forward while striking different poses.
Really love how he always fully extends his arm out when firing the Auto 9. Almost as if to perfectly calibrate every round he will fire and sure he's not wasting ammo.
Robo didn't even need to use his cybernetic abilities here, it was the huge cloud of yeyo he inhaled when he first opened the door gave him the ability to merc 30 guys by himself.

Amazing physical performance by Peter Weller. Notice how when he shoots, in most cases, he turns his body to the side and throws his left arm back. Exactly like a fencer does to avoid getting stabbed by his/her opponent. Or when he shoots full on he tucks his left arm in. Beautiful movements that become iconic!
Only because they're all using low caliber guns against an armor that's as thick as tank plating, if they all had anti-material rifles like the cobra assault cannon robocop would be in real trouble. @@anthonycerulli5524 My first favorite scene in the movie is when Robocop went into city hall to save the hostages from the former mayor, who wasn't so happy about not getting re-elected. Anyway, after negotiations broke down, Robocop punches through the wall and pulls the former mayor through the wall to the other side where Robocop delivers a right punch which sends the former mayor flying out a window. 👊🪟
During the shootout you can see the difference between boddiker gang and the Italian drug factory gang. Even after the suprise of the indestructibility of RoboCop, boddiker and his men kept their composure while the Italian gang is about to fall into a rout, you can see in their facial expression and their stance that they are frightened and are firing at will. Their aim is poor and their positions are disorganized, the boss in the red shirt behaves like an ordinary gunman and fails to show leadership. On the other hand, Clarence's men rally around him and work together seamlessly. This leads me to believe if the two did fight and RoboCop didn't show up, boddikers gang will wipe out the Italian drug factory despite being outnumbered.
I have a laser disk of this movie hanging on my wall, signed by Peter Weller. So fun thing, they show him locking onto enemies at the beginning and tracking them. So every time he fires, they cut away and cut back, as if he's marking one off his list. It's a good way to use multiple cuts stylisticly. Its also why he shoots while not even facing the enemy at time, as he's already tracking them and know he's going to hit.
Batman: "Alfred, i have a plan on sneaking into the Drug Warehouse" RoboCop: Bashes through the reinforced front Door. "Come Quietly or there will be trouble"
I always thought it was cool when Robo Cop busted the door down 👍😀 that was neat. He’s definitely a character they should add to the new GTA update or next game for online or director mode players to get. Really all of them.
Those thugs REALLY should've quit while they were ahead. They were more than adequately warned. Had they complied, most of them would've been looking at heavy time for manufacturing narcotics while Clarence Boddicker and two of his henchman would've faced much worse due to what they did to Alex Murphy, namely life with no parole. Detroit, Michigan doesn't have the Death Penalty, so Capital Punishment's off the table.
Aww you didn't include the part Clarence (the last man standing) shot one last time and the bullet ricochet of Robocop and actually hits some which sends it flying of on screen. The little fine details in this film, most people dont see or hear.
So, I love Robocop, but their is a certain part of it that I always find to be so damn unrealistic, and that would be the little bit of skin in his face-mask where her mouth is, between his eyes and chin. They basically show us that not a single bullet has ever made it into his mouth, disfigured the one portion of his human face that is exposed, yet in all of these movies he is stuck standing still while he gets unloaded on in multiple scenes. I have a feeling that if he ate a bullet, right in his throat, that his robotic body would not react calmly...and yes, I know, suspension of reality and what not, but c'mon now...that's the first place any of these guys would shoot for...
