The year was 2012, my freshman year of high school when me and some friends found these guys and did covers of them. Everything from this song up to The Weekend in an opened garage screaming and singing and jamming. Oh what a time that was. It almost makes me sad to know that it's going on 8 years since then
funny, Im in my freshman year of high school and just found out about these guys over the summer. Sometimes i wish I could've seen the band at it's peak, but I still love them so much. Hope that good music like this will still be around for other teens to listen to :)
Haha just the other night we were all doing mobo covers and had a full house of people singing along to pothole and it was so great to see that even at high school parties these days modern baseball's still a staple
@@sofiagarza5973 I remember they came here to Albuquerque but I wasn't as big a fan as I am now and didn't see them. I don't think they'll ever be back here again after the Australia tour
found them in my freshman year of high school, senior now and I’ve been listening all 4 years. met and talked with Jake at one of his solo acoustic Slaughter Beach Dog shows a few months ago. super great dude. my band even covers its cold out here and the weekend, love mobo forever man :)
sometimes i get sad bc i was born too late to witness this band while they existed at all, not to mention from the beginning, but im in my freshman year of high school now and I'm happy I found them at all. every car ride and late night and long walk home with them, tfb, and marietta have made everything bearable, and i got some of their merch for christmas this year that my mom managed to get for me :) god bless modern baseball
Never lose hope through these years homie, life is beautiful even in the broken. If anything breaks in you, look between the cracks, theres always light. Let this band guide you to see everything for what it is, love.
I speak soft Hoping you'll hear me Not too busy searching for your head and heart I sing loud, but only in the beginning Just to grab your attention Will you bare witness to these words that have been so hard to find? Look at me when I say I'm not just another one of your fucking push-away's In your life, all you've seen So sick and tired of all those movie scenes I'll let you in, I'll pour you out Let's build you straight up, turn you around and spit you out I am hope Look at me when I say I'm broken and disheveled yet still working a double on your heart And in your head Not to be confused with the lines about losing them Oh, I'm speaking truthfully I've spent so many sleepless nights just wondering, 'Will I ever be able to be your hope?' Your hope Shattered heart but you're calling it open-minded Dare I say you're the one who makes me realize.. Our nights are not labeled as life, Can we call them living? I found these present-findings to be directly connected to your secret carings Oh, I've been speaking truthfully, I've spent so many sleepless nights just wondering, 'Will I ever be able to be your hope?' Your hope I sing strong Will you just notice me? Spewing these lines out, leaving my thoughts so dry Just you know you're slowly brewing A collection of moments My tangle of words should explain my lack-luster last line
I cant believe it's been almost 10 years since I've listened to them for the first time. I was only a freshman in highschool and had just gotten into my first relationship if you even want to call it that lol. I'm going to be turning 26 this year and I still feel like the same angsty teenager I was every time I listen to these funny guys. I know it's a cliché to say but Modern Baseball really did save me. They were there for my first loves, losses, ups and downs. Thank you Ian, Sean, Jake and Bren for absolutely everything. MoBo forever and Whatever Forever!
Best vid on YT ever. Been up for four years, doesn't get a single dislike. I wish i went tk see Modern Baseball here in ABQ that year they came. On tour now, but flying right over NM completely! So sad.
My boyfriend and I were driving when “Broken Cash Machine” played. He turned my attention to them without really knowing and this song reminds me so much of him. I’m so glad I agreed to take a drive that night.
Another late night that’s blurred into an early morning. I sit with my thoughts in a way I can only bare ever so sparingly. It all happens so fast. Time marches on and I feel left behind. Will I ever be able to be my hope?
@@Its_pronounced_data Thanks, I was 18 and had just graduated high school when I left that strange comment. I saw the Jake-and-Bren two-piece version at The Fire that summer and then the full band a bunch of times following that. I'm happy I got to know Jake, Bren, Ian, and Sean over the next year or so, and congratulate them on their success. It couldn't have happened to much nicer guys.
sufi, if youreseeing this, it took me a few months to get over you. just so u know, i hate u so much and u made me sick to the stomach. but somehow, i still love you and i know i am so stupid for doing so because u never really loved me that much. anyways, i hate u
