Reporter: you’ll learn
Tiger: and I took that personally
Reporter?
That “reporter” is two time US open champion Curtis Strange
@@alexanderjefferies7740 All time world ranking No. 33 Curtis Strange, you can't blame him though for the comment.
@@Pulse2AM I agree, you certainly can’t, I was just meaning to make the correction that Strange isn’t just some random reporter
@@alexanderjefferies7740 strange was a pos for that comment.
Best player of all Time

@@carramrod8232 that’s only part of golf. Take in account the rest of golf and it’s not even a debate. Take context into that 18 and it’s not even a debate. Tiger is the goat and it’s not a discussion. Even jack himself gives it to tiger. So get off jacks nuts cause not even he wants you there.
I don't think I'll ever see another Tiger. He didn't just dominate his era, but changed the game's entire culture.
In 1996 golf culture was just incredibly uptight. I won't make any direct accusations, but it would be ... remiss ... of me not to mention race, when a major venue had to get pressured into accepting black players in ... ahem ... 1990. But also there was just the attitude. There's been icy PGA players like Faldo and personable ones like Palmer and dignified ones like Jack and eccentric ones like Chi Chi Rodriguez or John Daly. But Tiger was the first one to come along to just come at the game with so much energy. Wild slashes out of the rough, screaming fist pumps during a key birdie, which would then make the crowd scream in return. He dominated in part by creating this crazed spectator environment that only he was used to and only he could thrive in. Some lower ranked guy would come in used to a smaller, quieter crowd and suddenly be playing an away game in a stadium and wilt. Tiger was personally standoffish back then, but the hype and then constant winning created alot of jealousy out of some.
I think alot of newer pros, annoyed as they were that they just couldn't compete with the guy, came around when they saw their tournament purses spike. And then a newer generation was inspired by him.
Facts. Never even watched/played till I saw tiger
I hate to sound too hyperbolic, but during his prime he really did have an aura around him. I remember back in 2001 I was at the Monday practice round of The Masters. Basically what I did was walk the course from 1 through 18. Then I think I went down to Amen Corner and watched for awhile. I decided that was pretty much it and was going to head back. I can’t remember how, but somehow I got onto #5 and just walked back towards the tee and then I was just going to walk back up to the clubhouse from there. But then right as I was standing next to #5 tee box I looked up and saw a mass of humanity up above. It was obvious to me that Tiger was on #3 green. So I just stayed where I was. Then he played #4 and like I said, this mass of humanity that had to be thousands of people followed him down to #5. I already had my spot right in the front row just a little past the right tee marker. So I got watch him hit a drive from about 20 feet away. But I guess the point I’m mainly trying to make is that there were so many people following him during a Monday practice round. It was crazy. I actually got to watch him hit a drive from about 20 feet away right in front on #9 in 1997 too, which was also the Monday practice round. He absolutely bombed it. Some dude yelled out “hit another one” Tiger said “I can’t hit it any better than that.”
You can't blame him for being standoffish the guy had no welcome there, he was treated differently hence the standoffish.
no u
Excellent observation
No one has ever been force fed their words like Curtis Strange talking down a baby faced Tiger Woods. Get shredded by the Tiger
I would have never taken up golf if it wasn't for Tiger. Much love brother
Craziest part of this video is that his caddy Michael “Fluff” Cowan is still caddying for Jim Furyk today at 73 years old.
oh he learned alright, learned how to absolutely dominate
When Tiger joins in '96, the whole tone of the PGA Tour immediately feels fresher and cooler.
I guess only TW can score a hole-in-one and invent the “Tiger-twirl” on his debut😁#TigerVision 🕹 🐐
This is my favorite of all his swings....so natural!!
Curtis "Yularn" Strange
Masters: none
PGA: none
The Open: none
US Open: 2
Guy had Sunday final pairing sized crowds at his very first event.
I play this course all the time today. Its cheap too only 46$. and its amazing
Tiger didnt need Golf.....Golf needed Tiger Woods.
took your time getting these highlights up guys
Tiger is mentally on another level by a far
That swing was so smooth, I prefer it so much over his violent swing from 2000-05
Not as smooth as you think. That's why he had to change it.
Lol ..Curtis strange learned alright .. and so did the rest of the world.
The G.O.A.T
no Curtis you'll learn
youll learn was the biggest mistake of that mans life
For him to throw his first PGA hole in one to the crowd, he had to of had 10 hole in ones before he turned pro, I’ve had 1 and I don’t think I’ll ever get one again
This guy looks pretty good, if he keeps at it, he might be a world #1 one day.
Stop ittttt.
He has been, many times!
“You’ll learn”
Curtis Strange immortalized
Did that to himself!
1996〜1998 Tiger Woods is very cool!
Tiger Woods was to golf what Eminem was to rap!
Best athlete of all time.
Definitely not, greatest golfer yes, greatest athlete? Absolutely not.
That would be Muhammad Ali
“You’ll learn” ohhh if you only knew in advance 😂😂😂😂
That reporter was rude
0:22 Has to be one of the worst sporting calls of all time… and it gets played in pretty much every single documentary about Tiger. Poor guy!
It’s Not that bad
We should think before we talk!
No, curtis, you'd learn. You, just, never understood the desire that Tiger had.
He was already thinking about winning tournaments regularly

Tiger: that smile says it all
Its as if the interviewer saw into the next 15 years and said "just kidding"
I remember back then a reporter asked Sandy Lyle what he thought about Tiger Woods and Lyle answered “I don’t know I haven’t played it”. 😂
Tiger definitely dominated and changed the game's culture, but he is still one of a number of great players in golf. I don't feel he is exclusively different from the others. I just think he is the most recent and thus the most referenced and most remembered by his generation. Sam Snead, Jack Nicklaus, and Tom Watson all lifted their left heel on the backswing. Because of Tiger alone, nobody -- I mean nobody -- lifts their left heel any longer in the current generation of players. That was standard for me and I still do it. It's all generational. Tiger is all today's players even really know. Eventually Tiger's influence will fade and someone else who is similarly dominant will enter and take center stage, and their generation will only know them. I'm about sixty. I know Jack and Arnold and Tom and Lee and Johnny. Jack's my favorite, and he's 82 years old now. But I still wish I could find a Tour player who bucks the trend, has historic perspective, and lifts that doggone left heel. I thought that was a beautiful way to swing a golf club and it's completely wiped off the map now. Everyone today has the Tiger swing. Oh well. It's all generational, as you can see.
Back when they used balata balls and persimmon woods, lifting the left heel was a way to turn easier and get more distance......at least that was the theory. Technology, and players like Fred Couples/Tiger came along and that changed.......and now most teachers advise against it. I do miss the older way of playing where a sweet swing was required because the equipment/ball wasn't so forgiving, and driver heads so ridiculously large. Tiger is different from the past greats in that he won majors by enormous margins.......we hadn't seen that before.
I like a steady finish.
2:02 an actually literally outrageous golf swing. What in the absolute F

Do you have highlights from all four rounds of this tournament.
The best since Jack who was the best since Hogan. On sheer control and ball striking I'll take Hogan. Sheer game and course management I'll take Jack. Sheer talent.....Tiger.
I wonder who ended up getting that ball at 1:08 - that's gotta be worth something now lol
He was stupid good at this point in time.

I should be on the card before the Jake Paul fight with that guy who did the interview...
Miss Tiger those days
Hey Curtis it’s only cocky if you can’t back it up and boy did Tiger back it up.
Curtis Strange had a few things to learn.
The MJ of golf.
If Tiger is/was the Jordan of golf, who is the Kobe?
Bobby Jones. Nicklaus is , well Nicklaus.
Um, can we talk more about the shot at 3:51?
1:03 how much you think that balls worth today? Lol
This guy at eall his words - whats his name again? LOL... 0:28
Every time you watch this, you feel sorry for Curtis!
curtis strange had no idea who he's talking to! :)
0:28 the world learned
What position did he finish that tournament?
T60 read description
What position is he about to end his career? Up there with the greats.
❤❤❤
Lol Strange has some egg on his face
Curtis Strange tsk tsk tsk
I wonder how much that ball is worth at 1:09
Before Tiger Golf was meant for old white rich men
He proved he needed to learn nothing lol
curtis strange really meant it. curtis is so full of himself.....he is such a snob. many PGA tour players at the time thought tiger would bust on tour.
Curtis looked away and Tiger just stared him down. Bully.
No, a tiger.
Here is the flyover of the hole - ruclips.net/video/zxHdNGLz7cY/видео.html
So has Tiger hated Curtis Strange ever since?
Fluff on the bag.
❤
Apparently tiger have learned nothing at all
This kid is to cocky. The pro courses will humble him. And he might have a decent career
Jerkiest strange
Now who seem cocky you are Tiger ?
Sam Snead was in contention in the PGA at the age of 62 tiger will be a distant memory by then
Sam who?No one will forget Tiger.
🤡
Of course, in your head!!
Lol, who learned?
I watched this Tiger bloke play and he has next to no talent for golf. He'll win nothing and should give golf away asap and drive a taxi instead.
Take it easy guys. There's a legitimate argument for both players. It's like arguing about abortion. It's unwinnable
What he says: hello world
What he means: hello brothel and prostitutes
typical yt phragg1t talking down to tiger. what a great answer by tiger. why go to tournament if you don't want to win?
You'll learn...bwahahahahahaha
