The Truth Untold is based on an old Italian fairytale. It's about a disfigured man who lives secluded in a castle and grows flowers. The flowers start disappering and he finds out that a poor girl steals them and sells them to survive. Mezmerized by her but unable to approach her he decides to grow an especially beautiful flower that she can make a lot of money from but by the time he has developed it she has stopped coming and he finds out that she died from poverty in the meantime. I think it's so impressive how BTS can take just about any subject and make a song that can have so many meanings. 💜

But for most songs it is JK. Also this song is based off the story titled 'La Città di smeraldo' that takes place in a small town in Italy in the 1500s-1600s.
The story behind, as far as i know, is that it starts in the 15./16. Century in a village. Near that village was a small castle and in that castle lived a man. It seems that man was ugly and hid himself away out of fear. No one really knew anything about him. One day he saw a girl coming into the castle gardes stealing flowers. He saw that time and time again and got angry but curious too. So one night he hid in the garden and followed the girl back to the village. There he saw that the girl was poor and ill and had to sell the flowers to survive. He fell in love with her. As he thought himself too ugly to love he kept growing the flowers to help her. So he created a new kind of flower, wich took some time, so she could sell it at a higher price. He then planted them and waited for her. He waited for days and she never came. So he went into the village and found out the truth. That he was to late. She died. I think that story is really relatable to how many people think themselves not good enough/ to „ugly“ (no matter if outside appearence or inside) to be loved for their true self, so they hide behind things or special mannerisms. I think they are very few people you really can be yourself with. And if you love someone it should be easy, but i think it‘s so much harder because you don‘t want to loose that special person and think they wouldn‘t like you the way you are. In my opinion the song can also be seen as a message to ARMY, that they are afraid to show their true selves, for we just like their „persona“ (can be in reference to RMs „persona“) That song is very deep and the meaning is so important. "Truth Untold" is one of the songs that seeing it live is just heartbreaking. Then "Pied Pier" which is _breathtaking._ If you want similar songs, there's "Let go" (it's Japanese), and "House of Cards" which is also depressing af but a vibe w/o knowing the lyrics. Then "Bulletproof: Eternal" aaaaAaa BTS and their PDs always put their heart out QnQ makes you think how much pain and suffering they felt. Then they turn it to something beautiful... 🐳💜 (Especially Whalien 52, the most lonely whale and alienated. Which they made a song about when they're not as famous before. RM reflected in everything. Imagine if they sing Whalien 52 now.)
This is one of my absolute favorite BTS songs. And yes. Jimin comes at you with the sprinkles. Rainbow unicorn glitter sprinkles that make you feel all light and warm and fuzzy inside. Jin's voice is like straight up emotion speaking to you and stabbing you straight in the heart giving you all the feels. Tae'a voice is like a nice, warm hug that you never knew you needed but you appreciate so much.. And JK's voice is angelic and so versatile - I will never get tired listening to JK sing.

I always interpreted this song as them talking about the mask they have to wear as celebrities. Namjoon has been very open about their struggles to maintain their real selves (Kim Namjoon) over their famous persona (RM of BTS); so the way that I see this song could be about that mask and the dichotomy between wanting to maintain a semblance of privacy so they do not lose themselves to their persona and them wanting to reveal their real selves and be loved for who they are. The live versions of this song are absolutely breathtaking. I especially love it when JK and Jimin sing together "and I still want you" instead of Jimin singing it alone, it's such a simple change and yet it conveys a whole different meaning.

This is one of my favorite BTS songs. It kind of snuck up on me and then I realized I was listening to it over and over again and each time it was a joy, and I would kind of stop what I was doing just to be absorbed in it. That's when you know a song is special. It showcases each of their voices so well and it's just the perfect blend of sweet and sad... I love it.

The way BTS makes their albums are so amazing, so linear. The storytelling is unmatched. It takes quite a bit of time to go through their albums but I suggest doing it at least for Love Yourself. This series will forever hold a special in my heart, I really got quite deep in it during the height of the pandemic & helped with all I was going through. Music is so powerful & BTS uses that in unparalleled ways. Can't wait to see more of your videos!

This is a beautiful song. Even if you don’t know Korean and don’t understand what they are saying, the emotional story comes through. I do listen to this over and over every day and it never gets old. I also listen to Your Eyes Tell. Both of them are stunningly beautiful in a restrained way. Part of why I think they are so beautiful is how restrained and yet deeply emotional they are. It’s one thing to belt out a ballad, which can be exciting, but to put this level of emotion and beauty across with such a quiet song makes it even more stunning.

The entire story is in the actual lyrics which is soo crazy!! He waited for too long untill he realized his beloved is dead i think due to an illness and he never had the chance to introduce himself to her and let the love blossom it was too late!because he was afraid and he couldn't love himself

This is one best song that connects to the BTS UNIVERSE storyline and is inspired from the story of the Smeraldo flower that dates back approximately to the 15th to 16th century and begins in a rural village in the northern parts of Italy. This village, called ‘La Città di smeraldo’ had a single, small, lone castle. In this castle lived a man with a very ugly appearance which coincides with BU story about how each 7 members struggle to keep their hardships a secret and that if others find out they'll leave. So the seven boys wear a mask and enjoys themselves but each one ends up dying or in jail as their hardships get worse and they realize if I had the courage to show you my run down part would everything be different..
