At the moment, this is my current prediction for Chloe. While we know she will be mentioned in Episode 1 by the photo(s) Max has and through Safi asking questions, I also believe it will go in one of these possible ways (that is if Chloe is alive) 1. Towards the end of the game, Max is given the choice to call / return to Chloe. 2. Max will have a vision/dream sequence in when Chloe appears to offer her advice or encouragement to carry on. 3. The developers are keeping Chloe’s appearance under wraps and she’ll make a surprise appearance in the end of the game.
I cannot express to you how desperately I hope you’re right. I’m not kidding, I CAN’T put into words how much I want you to be correct. I’m genuinely scared that the worst case scenario is upon us.
I have a feeling we will have flashbacks or dreams of Chloe in this game. Perhaps in the beginning if you sacrificed Arcadia Bay, Chloe could travel with Max to the University or Chloe could keep in touch with Max via messages (since Max never did in the first game for five years.) We'll see for sure. I just hope Deck Nine won't brush her away or retcon the entire game and not have her in it at all.
I support you DomTheBomb, but Deck9 is dead to me as well as this game if they murdered PriceField. I don’t want a few references to Chloe. I want Max and Chloe together.
This is exactly why people like dontnod better than decknine. Atleast dontnod kept them together in LIS 2, decknine always has to come in and ruin things. If Max & Chloe aren’t together in double exposure, this game is going to flop tremendously. They literally had one job to make an “After the Storm” and they couldn’t even do that right. 🤦🏻♀️

I don’t want a Life is Strange game that unilaterally erases PriceField being together. That’s the laziest, most uncreative, and fan blind decision they could make. Who wants to have anything to do with devs who take such a deterministic upper Deck9er into the fandom and then charge you up to $80 to go through the 5 stages of grief? Sure, respect choices in a choices game, but don’t poop on the one choice that has kept a lot of fans around for so long. If Deck9 can’t handle the IP, they should do something else. 🤷♀️
My top theories: 1) Chloe is away visiting David but lives with Max! Will come running to Max when she learns about the murder. OR SHE IS actually right there in game from the jump!!! 2) Max and Chloe have settled somewhere after years on the road, but are long distance for Max’s job. Chloe will take a flight to bae as soon as she realizes something has happened 3) WHAT IF CHLOE IS A MAIN character on both paths? Alive in Bay’s alternate reality, alive living with Max in Bae? 4) Could Amanda, the romance being hinted for Max, be only on Bay path and her scenes are replaced with Chloe ones on Bae? 5) The dog photo. A dog photo with the words Chloe #2 Ocracoke What does this mean? Is this Bae path Chloe who took a pic of a dog at this location? Does the number 2 mean second pic of the dog Chloe took? Or does Chloe 2 mean Alternate Reality Chloe? I feel like she has to have a big role in some way and that’s why they are hiding her. I am so hype for this game, but Pricefielders have spent a long time hoping they’d get an After the Storm game with Max and Chloe as the leads, so I wanna think deck and square realize the bae path has to be done with a lot of love to get fans happy. I also hope they’re engaged or married by now!

So what if Bay Max shifts into the reality where she didn’t let Chloe die, and Bae Max shifts into the reality where Chloe did die. This could be a way to have Chloe be involved no matter your choice and a good way to make Max and the player face their past and choice - and what could have been! (Like imagine if like the William scene, Bay Max finds an alive Chloe in her home when she reality shifts!)
@@hsd287I know you mean well, but that's a bad excuse. You can use it in order to enjoy the game, but the creators shouldn't use it to justify their creative choices. I'd be thinking differently if they were still little kids at the end of the first game (but they are not) or if they didn't state multiple times in multiple forms that neither of them is going anywhere (but they did state it). This sequel is standing on VERY delicate ground and I think people are right to be worried that these people don't realise HOW delicate that ground actually is.
Honestly the amount of significance Chloe has in this new game will make or break this sequel. Maybe it would be too much to ask for a whole game revolving around the two again if the choice to keep her alive remained true, but in this case I refuse to believe they grew apart. Making such an impactful decision should have max commit fully to Chloe to 3rd base, nothing less to have made that choice worth something. You can't just use such powers and go half assed in the narrative.

The cautious way in which Deck Nine is approaching or the lack of approach haha regarding Chloe's participation denotes that it is a surprise and somehow she is part of the game's central plot, or simply Deck Nine messed up and is trying to erase Chloe from Max's life which seems horrible, anyway I hope they haven't ruined the game for those who prefer the Bae route

The determinant characters can hardly reappear in the after series games since their life/fate is dependent on the player's choices, and it's not just about Life is Strange but all these choice matter games(including The Walking dead, TWAU, etc.). I personally want to see Chloe but if that gives the game developers hard time making it, I would understand not seeing her as long as they just mention her in a conversation or even show her in flashbacks...
That’s still not enough for fans wanting to know about Chloe’s whereabouts, (if kept alive) and the last we saw her, she was in a photo with Max. Now that we see an adult Max, we need to see an adult Chloe.

i'm glad you can also hear chloe shouting max's name, people have been calling me crazy but i mean, who else would be calling her name in a flashback about the storm? also the 'i caused this, i caused all of this' has been re-recorded, if you compare with the OG line, it doesn't sound the same. and if it really is chloe shouting max's name, then this must've also been re-recorded (ashly? rhianna?), meaning (one of) chloe's va is back in the studio, and i doubt it's only for one single line. maybe we'll get more. if it's just in throwbacks, then at least it's something. i'll take my chloe crumbs.

My personal theory is that it comes down to the ending you chose I dissected the trailer and you see a brief moment of Chloe’s butterfly flying before it cuts over, as well as a text message from mom saying “We’re sure Blackwell Academy is great and all, but we miss you” so I believe that we will get a chance to see Chloe in a possible DLC adventure or maybe get a summer adventure because Max’s moms first text is “Max! We can’t wait for you to come home this summer!” So the possibility is there but we won’t know till the game release. Personally I hope to see Chloe and Max again even if it’s a after school DLC
I'm definitely hoping we will see Chloe in an alternate timeliness regardless of the ending you choose. It's definitely possible especially if there are more than 2 timeliness. I'm hoping for it to be a special side story or something
This is one thing I’m not worried about. She won’t play a major role if she’s potentially dead by player choice, and what limited capacity she’ll show up or be involved will be one of the game’s most closely guarded secrets up til the full launch. Plus, for Max’s sanity, I don’t want her having to spend the whole game dealing with and worrying about two Chloe’s. We all love Max’s wife, but she can be high maintenance sometimes.
If I’m remembering the play through correctly, Max meets Chloe in an alternate timeline. So not only do we get to see a sneak peek of what Max is able to do in the coming years, we are able to see her going forward and even all the way back to her and Chloe’s friendship as kids. As for Chloe showing up, a cameo an possibly a big scene towards a critical point in the story where stakes are high or it’s a case of her straining herself again is where we could see her pop up. Whenever we see max over use her powers she’s not only physically effected but on constant alert of how her ability affects those around her. She’s also very comfortable with the idea of being alone to capture an empty world wrecked by destruction now. We know Chloe was a big supporter of her powers, so who’s to say they didn’t settle too long in any place while Chloe could grow homesick for something more stationary. Maybe with time Chloe was able to fully process what happened and it ate away at her until max makes the decision to leave in hopes to give Chloe a chance at normal life again. I don’t find it likely that after everything Chloe would ask her to use her powers again for little or mundane things, but given the hostility the boys dealt with while backpacking, I could see Chloe asking max in serious situations like those. It’s possible we could get a section where maxs powers go haywire and sends her back in time to when she and Chloe were still with each other as a subconscious safe place after a big moment to reflect on the most recent choices made. The only thing I can think of that Chloe would be doing would be becoming a musician of some sort maybe acoustic guitar we don’t really get to learn her interests or what she was majoring for in blackwell that I can remember atm. Funny enough being a content creator or game streamer does fit her lol. Maybe maxs makes a phone call or she’s takes her and her guy friend to meet Chloe and she helps makes try an understand why someone would want to kill someone who’s work is soon to be published, or something regarding one’s own work, things like that.
We will see her in the 4th episode called “Resonance” but it depends of course…when you want her physical in the game you know wich 1LIS decision is necessary but she will be present no matter what !!! 🦋🦋🦋

There was this concept fan game float around shortly after the original game ended. That was sort of a proof of concept of how a sequel might play out. If you decide to save Chloe at the end and what the aftermath would look like. It has you playing as Chloe, in a destroyed neighborhood. That tasks the player in doing several puzzle minigames to activate a generator. To get the the radio and distress beacon going. Since the batteries were damaged in the storm. I was really hoping it got picked up and made into an official game. Since showed a lot of promise.

Pretty much, it's really gonna be either a hit or a miss, gold mine or total flop. Hell, I practically never condemn a video game without at the very least giving it one chance, but I will if we get half-assed "solutions" and nothing more. Istg, I just finished the first game a couple days ago, if I had known I would be stuck in THIS kind of pre-release hell, I would have put it off for some more months xD ah well, I'm really hopeful, I love Max, but without Chloe, it might as well not have been a sequel at all...
Either Chloe is maybe spending time with David or Chloe is around just not present at the university. Let’s not forget that Max is at a university for photography, Chloe wasn’t really interested in academics in LiS 1. If she’s dorming then Chloe wouldn’t be allowed to stay in the dorms. I wouldn’t be surprised if depending on the choice made in LiS1 the alternate timeline where Max goes to in this game is where Max made the alternate choice. So if you chose to Save Chloe you travel to the timeline where that Max chose to Save Arcadia instead and the opposite would be if you saved Arcadia then you go to the timeline where that Max chose to save Chloe. My question is are we going to end up with a choice to stay in the original timeline or alternate timeline in the end? Since apparently Max uses the alternate timeline to stop Safi’s death from happening it seems this is another possibility. Unless later in the game Max is able to regain her normal time altering powers again to alter the events of her original timeline.
Where DE could go My main concern for this game is the way they’re saying people with no knowledge of the first game can play. I say this because it limits how much the writers can explore Max’s trauma without losing new players. And it will set them back, how can Max be a photographer in residence and not have Jefferson and the trauma she experienced coming up at some point? Are they going to spoil the first game to do that? I know that this builds of the first and I DO NOT want it to rely on callbacks or cameos. But I feel like thematically they are setting up a game that relies and builds on the first, but for marketing reasons they have to tailer it to everyone. This is nothing against D9 I think this was a Square Enix decision because of course now you can sell the game to more people. Some thoughts and questionsI had when it comes to Max’s past and her present career. How could she not think of Jefferson while being in a leadership position in a photography department in a school? From my understanding, an artist in residence could do some from of instruction or lecture. Does she have a hard time talking about chiaroscuro or daguerrotypes. Does she have PTSD? or Flashbacks in general Can she take portraits? Her photos used to contain lots of people but now she only photographs abandoned buildings. We see her take a pic of Moses in gameplay but maybe professional things are different? Does she let other people take her photo? Any issues with the flash I wonder how important this job will be to the plot? Any students that remind Max of herself? (Or other characters) maybe parallel with bullying like Kate Does she still use or have Williams camera? Maybe only for special moments (her and Chloe for example) Maybe she stopped using it because she didn’t want to be tempted to use her photo rewind. For both endings, did having Blackwell in her past hurt her career? Can’t have a great reputation with Jefferson, which was the REASON Max went to that program. Hi Dom! I hope that Chloe makes an appearance in Life is Strange 4 Double Exposure! That would be so awesome! Max and Chloe are my favorite Life is Strange characters too! I think Chloe might appear in a dream that Max may have about her or in flashback scenes during their time in Arcadia Bay while Max is trying to solve the new mystery at the University while also trying to keep her powers in control so she doesn't over exert herself while shifting in between two different timelines.
Unless the game starts off asking what you did in the first game. And if they really do try to make both endings cannon, will probably get maybe a few mentions of her, and maybe she can return coming from another timeline.
The bit of gameplay we got never gave any hints towards this, but when wondering Max would start using her powers again after she promised she wouldn’t ever do so again and what would be severe a reason enough to make her use them again, my thought was “Is her friend who gets killed pregnant?” Seems like a pretty good reason for her to start using her powers again.
Honestly I've always seen the sacrifice Chloe ending as the canon ending, through the entire game, fate is basically trying to kill Chloe because she wasn't supposed to live past that bathroom but when the sacrifice happens we get the best possible ending where everyone lives and the good old worst teacher gets caught, i dont see max letting an entire town die.
My question is if Chloe makes does make an appearance in Double Exposure and Supports Max for the Bae ending route. Could Warren make an appearance and be a the supporting character for the Bay ending route?
I genuinely think timeline hoping will play a role in if we see Chloe or not. I don’t think the fact that she’s dead or alive in the previous game will matter. It will be determined by whichever timeline you let your Max choose to live in.
Okay, Dominic! - Obviously if Arcadia Bay was saved Cloe shall never appear! Which brings up an even MORE interesting question! - Who is going to shock us with their return in the case where the bay is still functioning?! Because We are not expecting any major characters to return other than The Cloe!
I personally feel like Chloe should be a proper character in this game for those who kept her alive. If she's not and the whole LiS1 plot is limited to a couple references, I feel like they had better made a completely new character and that choosing Max was purely a financial reason. Would featuring a determinant character like Chloe require making 2 different games? Yeah, of course! But let's be honest, if they did that, they'd still cash in very nicely from feeding the fandom what they wanted and respecting everyone's decision. I am curious how will this game turn out, but I prefer to keep my hopes low.
I just came up with the perfect theory for where Chloe is expanding on my 3rd theory... It was so obvious! Okay so... Double Exposure... Max shifts into another reality in the game. So what if... Max shifts into the reality of the choice she DIDN'T MAKE! Max who sacrificed Chloe shifts into the reality where she didn't sacrifice Chloe Max who sacrificed Arcadia Bay shifts into the reality where she sacrificed Chloe They said the endings connect. Is this how?? If this game is about Max facing her past, what better way to make her face it, then by not only making her live with her choice but by forcing her to confront the life she could have had, if she made the OTHER choice? And what an experience for the player too, this could make you the player question if you made the right choice! But there's no going back, because this is another Max's life, and Max likely cannot stay in a reality where she doesn't belong forever. Like imagine Max who let Chloe die finding Chloe alive in their home and realizing this is the life she could have had, but can't have, because this is another Max's life? Or Max who sacrificed Arcadia seeing this version of herself who is alone without Chloe, but learning about all the people who are still alive because she let Chloe die? This borrows the flicker elements of the comics where Max was flickering into the reality where she made the other choice. Also would be cool callbacks to how she was in the alternate reality where William was alive. Maybe this is why they're being so quiet about Chloe. Because THIS is the way you have Chloe play a role regardless of your ending. As Max investigates Safi's murder, the alternate reality forces her to confront her past she's been running from? The only issue is the leak said she'd have a 'cameo' if you saved her, but this was from years ago. So maybe things changed, or maybe they always kept Chloe a secret just in case a leak happened and they didn't want to risk anything about Chloe coming out.
I like your theory I feel like this is going to basically copy sections from the comic book. Maybe even trap Max in a timeline like a certain section in the comic book where you know who is suddenly alive? We could even have other people with powers like the comic book. My personal HOPE is that while max is at school chloe is on a road trip following some punk bands. and chloe visits Max on the weekends. I can't imagine dec nine would have chloe killed off no matter the ending. Especially because more than half the fan base wants her to live. I would rather have a new character with powers than a dead chloe.

We do know they said the Sacrifice Chloe and Sacrifice Arcadia Bay endings will connect somehow. My idea isn't about killing Chloe, it's about giving people who let Chloe die the chance to see her again SOB and question their choice, or have people who saved Chloe be faced with all the people who died in the storm now being alive. I am so curious tho to see how they do this! I want Chloe to have a bigger role than the Bae path may allow if they don't find a way to include her in Bay's alt timeline
My theory is that Max came through from a different timeline similar to the one she was from at the beginning of the game first lis game (though of course this is not confirmed) and I think that in double exposure that max kills Safi but it was her from the other parallel timeline but I could be wrong
To me, it always felt more impactful to think that chloe dying was the canon ending because of the fact that it was the much sadder, impactful ending and had a message attached to it. The message was that we can't always get everything we want in life. There are things in life that happen that we never meant to have control of- even if that thing involves preventing the loss of someone or something that we truly loved to no end.
Well, this is my guess for the players who chose to sacrifice arcadia bay. chloe feels extremely guilty after max sacrificed an entire town(including her mom) just to save her. if you remember what chloe said at the end of the first game, that maybe max is just delaying her true fate not saving her so this leaves us with two options. 1-she committed suicide after suffering from guilt(sorry chloe) 2-chloe is aalive but they broke up for the same reason
Honestly if Chloe is not in the game I will be so disappointed but honestly I’m glad we can play as Max again who ever imagined. We got Max back in action!!
As part of lis1 there a flashback around when her dad passed she wanted to stay home with her dad so she hid his keys expecting him to stay longstoyr short he ended up in a bus crash if you go back and tell her not to hide them she goes in the car and meets a similar date to her dad maybe in the new game regardless of what you picked In that dlc? Episode or whatever . If you chose for Chloe to live in the last episode of the main game of lis1 maybe it's a canon fate for her to get hit by a car this would put strain on there relationship that would cause max to distance herself because she wouldn't wanna see it and if U picked save Arcadia bay she's in it even less though there is pictures of her and max in David's trailer in lis2 dated in 2016ish meaning if that were to happen itd be after than though this is tangical and probably inaccurate
With evil max. Maybe she was trying to kill her past self, or maybe it’s a version that got “left behind.” Maybe the max that could’ve gotten left with the alt universe Chloe dead. And probably with a murder charge already

First: I always saved Chloe and watched that damned town go to shit (while saving everyon i could of course). That being said, my theorie is that Chloe and Max split (in my fanfic they are a couple) because of all the trauma of having the towns destruction on their conscience made it hard to be together. That is why they parted ways not too long after leaving Arcadia Bay. Chloe went to travel around the world and Max looked for and escape into photography and never used her power since then. So it could be that Chloe comes up in a video/phone call.. because if she would appear in person she wouldn't leave Max's side during the rest of the game, that's for sure - which i doubt the devs put into the game.

Thats really the only way to satisfy everyone. We even see in LIS 1 that there are multiple maxes. The problem with the timeline powers is there are so ambigulous that there is no real rules. Its just learn what not to do after messing up.

At the moment, this is my current prediction for Chloe. While we know she will be mentioned in Episode 1 by the photo(s) Max has and through Safi asking questions, I also believe it will go in one of these possible ways (that is if Chloe is alive)
1. Towards the end of the game, Max is given the choice to call / return to Chloe.
2. Max will have a vision/dream sequence in when Chloe appears to offer her advice or encouragement to carry on.
3. The developers are keeping Chloe’s appearance under wraps and she’ll make a surprise appearance in the end of the game.
I cannot express to you how desperately I hope you’re right.
I’m not kidding, I CAN’T put into words how much I want you to be correct. I’m genuinely scared that the worst case scenario is upon us.

I have a feeling we will have flashbacks or dreams of Chloe in this game. Perhaps in the beginning if you sacrificed Arcadia Bay, Chloe could travel with Max to the University or Chloe could keep in touch with Max via messages (since Max never did in the first game for five years.) We'll see for sure. I just hope Deck Nine won't brush her away or retcon the entire game and not have her in it at all.
I support you DomTheBomb, but Deck9 is dead to me as well as this game if they murdered PriceField. I don’t want a few references to Chloe. I want Max and Chloe together.
This is exactly why people like dontnod better than decknine. Atleast dontnod kept them together in LIS 2, decknine always has to come in and ruin things.

Who wants to have anything to do with devs who take such a deterministic upper Deck9er into the fandom and then charge you up to $80 to go through the 5 stages of grief? Sure, respect choices in a choices game, but don’t poop on the one choice that has kept a lot of fans around for so long. If Deck9 can’t handle the IP, they should do something else. 🤷♀️

My top theories:
1) Chloe is away visiting David but lives with Max! Will come running to Max when she learns about the murder. OR SHE IS actually right there in game from the jump!!!
2) Max and Chloe have settled somewhere after years on the road, but are long distance for Max’s job. Chloe will take a flight to bae as soon as she realizes something has happened
3) WHAT IF CHLOE IS A MAIN character on both paths? Alive in Bay’s alternate reality, alive living with Max in Bae?
4) Could Amanda, the romance being hinted for Max, be only on Bay path and her scenes are replaced with Chloe ones on Bae?
5) The dog photo. A dog photo with the words Chloe #2 Ocracoke What does this mean? Is this Bae path Chloe who took a pic of a dog at this location? Does the number 2 mean second pic of the dog Chloe took? Or does Chloe 2 mean Alternate Reality Chloe?
I feel like she has to have a big role in some way and that’s why they are hiding her. I am so hype for this game, but Pricefielders have spent a long time hoping they’d get an After the Storm game with Max and Chloe as the leads, so I wanna think deck and square realize the bae path has to be done with a lot of love to get fans happy.

@@7hkey I made another comment on this video in more detail about number 3. Max shifts into an alternate reality right? They said the endings will connect right? So what if Bay Max shifts into the reality where she didn’t let Chloe die, and Bae Max shifts into the reality where Chloe did die. This could be a way to have Chloe be involved no matter your choice and a good way to make Max and the player face their past and choice - and what could have been! (Like imagine if like the William scene, Bay Max finds an alive Chloe in her home when she reality shifts!)

@@hsd287I know you mean well, but that's a bad excuse. You can use it in order to enjoy the game, but the creators shouldn't use it to justify their creative choices. I'd be thinking differently if they were still little kids at the end of the first game (but they are not) or if they didn't state multiple times in multiple forms that neither of them is going anywhere (but they did state it). This sequel is standing on VERY delicate ground and I think people are right to be worried that these people don't realise HOW delicate that ground actually is.

Honestly the amount of significance Chloe has in this new game will make or break this sequel. Maybe it would be too much to ask for a whole game revolving around the two again if the choice to keep her alive remained true, but in this case I refuse to believe they grew apart. Making such an impactful decision should have max commit fully to Chloe to 3rd base, nothing less to have made that choice worth something. You can't just use such powers and go half assed in the narrative.

The cautious way in which Deck Nine is approaching or the lack of approach haha regarding Chloe's participation denotes that it is a surprise and somehow she is part of the game's central plot, or simply Deck Nine messed up and is trying to erase Chloe from Max's life which seems horrible, anyway I hope they haven't ruined the game for those who prefer the Bae route

The determinant characters can hardly reappear in the after series games since their life/fate is dependent on the player's choices, and it's not just about Life is Strange but all these choice matter games(including The Walking dead, TWAU, etc.). I personally want to see Chloe but if that gives the game developers hard time making it, I would understand not seeing her as long as they just mention her in a conversation or even show her in flashbacks...
That’s still not enough for fans wanting to know about Chloe’s whereabouts, (if kept alive) and the last we saw her, she was in a photo with Max. Now that we see an adult Max, we need to see an adult Chloe.

@@rockandrolldude22 'i caused this, i caused all of this' is a line from ep 5 when max realizes the storm is real. the whole thing is a flashback. we got confirmation that the game will deal with max's past & trauma. the dark room too.
My personal theory is that it comes down to the ending you chose I dissected the trailer and you see a brief moment of Chloe’s butterfly flying before it cuts over, as well as a text message from mom saying “We’re sure Blackwell Academy is great and all, but we miss you” so I believe that we will get a chance to see Chloe in a possible DLC adventure or maybe get a summer adventure because Max’s moms first text is “Max! We can’t wait for you to come home this summer!” So the possibility is there but we won’t know till the game release. Personally I hope to see Chloe and Max again even if it’s a after school DLC
Also Chloe might serve as a sense of encouragement for Max to keep going too and she'll be like an emotional support for Max's confidence as well.

I'm definitely hoping we will see Chloe in an alternate timeliness regardless of the ending you choose. It's definitely possible especially if there are more than 2 timeliness. I'm hoping for it to be a special side story or something
This is one thing I’m not worried about. She won’t play a major role if she’s potentially dead by player choice, and what limited capacity she’ll show up or be involved will be one of the game’s most closely guarded secrets up til the full launch. Plus, for Max’s sanity, I don’t want her having to spend the whole game dealing with and worrying about two Chloe’s. We all love Max’s wife, but she can be high maintenance sometimes.
If I’m remembering the play through correctly, Max meets Chloe in an alternate timeline. So not only do we get to see a sneak peek of what Max is able to do in the coming years, we are able to see her going forward and even all the way back to her and Chloe’s friendship as kids.
As for Chloe showing up, a cameo an possibly a big scene towards a critical point in the story where stakes are high or it’s a case of her straining herself again is where we could see her pop up. Whenever we see max over use her powers she’s not only physically effected but on constant alert of how her ability affects those around her. She’s also very comfortable with the idea of being alone to capture an empty world wrecked by destruction now. We know Chloe was a big supporter of her powers, so who’s to say they didn’t settle too long in any place while Chloe could grow homesick for something more stationary. Maybe with time Chloe was able to fully process what happened and it ate away at her until max makes the decision to leave in hopes to give Chloe a chance at normal life again.
I don’t find it likely that after everything Chloe would ask her to use her powers again for little or mundane things, but given the hostility the boys dealt with while backpacking, I could see Chloe asking max in serious situations like those.
It’s possible we could get a section where maxs powers go haywire and sends her back in time to when she and Chloe were still with each other as a subconscious safe place after a big moment to reflect on the most recent choices made. The only thing I can think of that Chloe would be doing would be becoming a musician of some sort maybe acoustic guitar we don’t really get to learn her interests or what she was majoring for in blackwell that I can remember atm. Funny enough being a content creator or game streamer does fit her lol. Maybe maxs makes a phone call or she’s takes her and her guy friend to meet Chloe and she helps makes try an understand why someone would want to kill someone who’s work is soon to be published, or something regarding one’s own work, things like that.
We will see her in the 4th episode called “Resonance” but it depends of course…when you want her physical in the game you know wich 1LIS decision is necessary but she will be present no matter what !!! 🦋🦋🦋

There was this concept fan game float around shortly after the original game ended. That was sort of a proof of concept of how a sequel might play out. If you decide to save Chloe at the end and what the aftermath would look like.
It has you playing as Chloe, in a destroyed neighborhood. That tasks the player in doing several puzzle minigames to activate a generator. To get the the radio and distress beacon going. Since the batteries were damaged in the storm.
I was really hoping it got picked up and made into an official game. Since showed a lot of promise.

Pretty much, it's really gonna be either a hit or a miss, gold mine or total flop. Hell, I practically never condemn a video game without at the very least giving it one chance, but I will if we get half-assed "solutions" and nothing more. Istg, I just finished the first game a couple days ago, if I had known I would be stuck in THIS kind of pre-release hell, I would have put it off for some more months xD ah well, I'm really hopeful, I love Max, but without Chloe, it might as well not have been a sequel at all...
Either Chloe is maybe spending time with David or Chloe is around just not present at the university. Let’s not forget that Max is at a university for photography, Chloe wasn’t really interested in academics in LiS 1. If she’s dorming then Chloe wouldn’t be allowed to stay in the dorms.
I wouldn’t be surprised if depending on the choice made in LiS1 the alternate timeline where Max goes to in this game is where Max made the alternate choice. So if you chose to Save Chloe you travel to the timeline where that Max chose to Save Arcadia instead and the opposite would be if you saved Arcadia then you go to the timeline where that Max chose to save Chloe. My question is are we going to end up with a choice to stay in the original timeline or alternate timeline in the end? Since apparently Max uses the alternate timeline to stop Safi’s death from happening it seems this is another possibility. Unless later in the game Max is able to regain her normal time altering powers again to alter the events of her original timeline.

My main concern for this game is the way they’re saying people with no knowledge of the first game can play. I say this because it limits how much the writers can explore Max’s trauma without losing new players. And it will set them back, how can Max be a photographer in residence and not have Jefferson and the trauma she experienced coming up at some point? Are they going to spoil the first game to do that?
I know that this builds of the first and I DO NOT want it to rely on callbacks or cameos. But I feel like thematically they are setting up a game that relies and builds on the first, but for marketing reasons they have to tailer it to everyone. This is nothing against D9 I think this was a Square Enix decision because of course now you can sell the game to more people.

I hope that Chloe makes an appearance in Life is Strange 4 Double Exposure! That would be so awesome! Max and Chloe are my favorite Life is Strange characters too! I think Chloe might appear in a dream that Max may have about her or in flashback scenes during their time in Arcadia Bay while Max is trying to solve the new mystery at the University while also trying to keep her powers in control so she doesn't over exert herself while shifting in between two different timelines.
Unless the game starts off asking what you did in the first game. And if they really do try to make both endings cannon, will probably get maybe a few mentions of her, and maybe she can return coming from another timeline.

The bit of gameplay we got never gave any hints towards this, but when wondering Max would start using her powers again after she promised she wouldn’t ever do so again and what would be severe a reason enough to make her use them again, my thought was “Is her friend who gets killed pregnant?” Seems like a pretty good reason for her to start using her powers again.
Honestly I've always seen the sacrifice Chloe ending as the canon ending, through the entire game, fate is basically trying to kill Chloe because she wasn't supposed to live past that bathroom but when the sacrifice happens we get the best possible ending where everyone lives and the good old worst teacher gets caught, i dont see max letting an entire town die.
My question is if Chloe makes does make an appearance in Double Exposure and Supports Max for the Bae ending route. Could Warren make an appearance and be a the supporting character for the Bay ending route?

My theory is that Max and Chloe parted ways after the storm (If you chose to sacrifice Arcadia Bay instead of Chloe)
I personally feel like Chloe should be a proper character in this game for those who kept her alive. If she's not and the whole LiS1 plot is limited to a couple references, I feel like they had better made a completely new character and that choosing Max was purely a financial reason.
Would featuring a determinant character like Chloe require making 2 different games? Yeah, of course! But let's be honest, if they did that, they'd still cash in very nicely from feeding the fandom what they wanted and respecting everyone's decision.

If this game is about Max facing her past, what better way to make her face it, then by not only making her live with her choice but by forcing her to confront the life she could have had, if she made the OTHER choice? And what an experience for the player too, this could make you the player question if you made the right choice! But there's no going back, because this is another Max's life, and Max likely cannot stay in a reality where she doesn't belong forever.
Like imagine Max who let Chloe die finding Chloe alive in their home and realizing this is the life she could have had, but can't have, because this is another Max's life?
Or Max who sacrificed Arcadia seeing this version of herself who is alone without Chloe, but learning about all the people who are still alive because she let Chloe die?
This borrows the flicker elements of the comics where Max was flickering into the reality where she made the other choice. Also would be cool callbacks to how she was in the alternate reality where William was alive.
Maybe this is why they're being so quiet about Chloe. Because THIS is the way you have Chloe play a role regardless of your ending. As Max investigates Safi's murder, the alternate reality forces her to confront her past she's been running from?
The only issue is the leak said she'd have a 'cameo' if you saved her, but this was from years ago. So maybe things changed, or maybe they always kept Chloe a secret just in case a leak happened and they didn't want to risk anything about Chloe coming out.
I like your theory I feel like this is going to basically copy sections from the comic book. Maybe even trap Max in a timeline like a certain section in the comic book where you know who is suddenly alive? We could even have other people with powers like the comic book.
My personal HOPE is that while max is at school chloe is on a road trip following some punk bands. and chloe visits Max on the weekends.
I can't imagine dec nine would have chloe killed off no matter the ending. Especially because more than half the fan base wants her to live. I would rather have a new character with powers than a dead chloe.

We do know they said the Sacrifice Chloe and Sacrifice Arcadia Bay endings will connect somehow. My idea isn't about killing Chloe, it's about giving people who let Chloe die the chance to see her again SOB and question their choice, or have people who saved Chloe be faced with all the people who died in the storm now being alive.

My theory is that Max came through from a different timeline similar to the one she was from at the beginning of the game first lis game (though of course this is not confirmed) and I think that in double exposure that max kills Safi but it was her from the other parallel timeline but I could be wrong
To me, it always felt more impactful to think that chloe dying was the canon ending because of the fact that it was the much sadder, impactful ending and had a message attached to it. The message was that we can't always get everything we want in life. There are things in life that happen that we never meant to have control of- even if that thing involves preventing the loss of someone or something that we truly loved to no end.

Well, this is my guess for the players who chose to sacrifice arcadia bay. chloe feels extremely guilty after max sacrificed an entire town(including her mom) just to save her. if you remember what chloe said at the end of the first game, that maybe max is just delaying her true fate not saving her so this leaves us with two options.
1-she committed suicide after suffering from guilt(sorry chloe)
2-chloe is aalive but they broke up for the same reason

As part of lis1 there a flashback around when her dad passed she wanted to stay home with her dad so she hid his keys expecting him to stay longstoyr short he ended up in a bus crash if you go back and tell her not to hide them she goes in the car and meets a similar date to her dad maybe in the new game regardless of what you picked In that dlc? Episode or whatever . If you chose for Chloe to live in the last episode of the main game of lis1 maybe it's a canon fate for her to get hit by a car this would put strain on there relationship that would cause max to distance herself because she wouldn't wanna see it and if U picked save Arcadia bay she's in it even less though there is pictures of her and max in David's trailer in lis2 dated in 2016ish meaning if that were to happen itd be after than though this is tangical and probably inaccurate

With evil max. Maybe she was trying to kill her past self, or maybe it’s a version that got “left behind.” Maybe the max that could’ve gotten left with the alt universe Chloe dead. And probably with a murder charge already

First: I always saved Chloe and watched that damned town go to shit (while saving everyon i could of course). That being said, my theorie is that Chloe and Max split (in my fanfic they are a couple) because of all the trauma of having the towns destruction on their conscience made it hard to be together. That is why they parted ways not too long after leaving Arcadia Bay. Chloe went to travel around the world and Max looked for and escape into photography and never used her power since then. So it could be that Chloe comes up in a video/phone call.. because if she would appear in person she wouldn't leave Max's side during the rest of the game, that's for sure - which i doubt the devs put into the game.

Thats really the only way to satisfy everyone. We even see in LIS 1 that there are multiple maxes. The problem with the timeline powers is there are so ambigulous that there is no real rules. Its just learn what not to do after messing up.
