First off, I love watching your compilation videos, I’ve been watching your videos for the past 6-7 years. This video especially, makes me continue to realize that driving in BC, you always gotta be prepared for ANYTHING, especially that last clip, that was really unexpected.
From what I heard, it was a food delivery driver who forgot to put their car in park. The car was empty and you can see him chasing his car near the end of the clip.
2:55 that was me and unbelievably the police refused to charge the guy who hit me deliberately. He had been following me for about 10 blocks and then just smashed me out of rage. VPD truly failed.
2:55 incredibly dumb to sprint across traffic like that and not stop on the island, but she took that hit like a champ. Rolled like she was an action hero right back onto her feet
It was ugly but the other driver wasn't in the wrong lane. That lane changes direction at different times because the infrastructure is shit. They were going in the right direction but obviously way to fast and somehow they must have clipped the barrier. (You can see the "X" above that lane from the cammers perspective, that means it's closed in that direction)
We do it because most of these intersections don't have a protected turn arrow so you have to wait for a opening in traffic, if it is very busy that may take a very long time so you have to turn when it is yellow.
I was taught if you cannot turn left at a green light you pull into the intersection and wait until you can go, usually if there’s traffic coming and it’s a yellow light I wait for them to stop fully before I go if the light turns red I’m in the intersection and have to clear it I realize that not all jurisdictions are the same and that doesn’t apply everywhere but that’s how I was taught to do it
what the hell was happening in the 7:30 clip? The way the car kept rolling and from the inside it looked like the car was empty. I imagine that person at 7:54 was the owner? Did they jump out of their car in the middle of the road? It didn't even look like they were in the right lane, which could have been them dropping someone off (very recklessly still)
It’s wild that the first two clips both have the same make/model/color car making the same mistake (and then the next two clips are also [nearly] all Hondas)
Who for fault in these cases where the left turner takes for granted the persons is stopping, and they enter exactly when the light is red? It's still the left turners fault for not waiting right?
If the light was yellow when they entered, then it's the left turners fault. Left turners should wait till red, to clear the intersection. But your supposed to stay behind the line at a light and do not enter the intersection, unless safe to do so.
0:25 Thank God the Civic stopped short before it went into a cyclist group. 0:34 I wonder how BC states law with left lane usage. The white sedan jerked a lane change while traveling fast, but the dark color car in front should have moved over after finishing passing 1:57 T-boned car caught fire on impact? 2:19 impressed with the evasive maneuver by the cammer 2:56 Another rational why you shouldn't jayrun across a major road
We actually do have some parts of the highway that have passing signs, but people ignore them. Anywhere else that isn't freeway, highway, no signs? typically, free for all. Although we have that "highway etiquette" regardless that the left lane is the fast lane
The accident at the 45 second mark, was very lucky for the two female pedestrians who probably would have been run down instead of the car getting hit. I lived on that corner for a couple of years and saw/heard several accidents. It was probably the noisiest place I've ever lived.
6:14 took me a couple rewatches as well. From what I can speculate i think its a guy on the other side of the road who might have tried to turn left and just turned into the cammer.
Most of these accidents seem to be occuring in traffic light controlled intersections. Vancouver is really big on traffic light controlled intersections. I've been in countries where traffic circles have replaced nearly all traffic light intersections and the reduction in accidents has been dramatic. 92% of all accidents occur in traffic light controlled intersections. BC has an accident rate of 17 per 100,000 vehicles. Switzerland, with mountains and similar terrain has an accident rate of 5 per 100,000. Germany - 5. The crowded UK? 2.9 per 100,000.
First clip guy probably got confused because dashcam driver slowed down without a left turn signal and didn't even pull to the left, blocking vision and caused hesitation thiss can make people assume they are good to go ahead sometimes in high traffic situations...
Hmmm This one is a very interesting one 1:05. On one hand the cammer should have seen the emergency vehicle but after just being cut off like that and on top of that the emergency vehicle only has one or a couple small tiny lights on the sides which make it BARELY visible. Almost looks fake. From what I understood from the laws, if someone cuts you off and immediately slams on the brakes, they are at fault because they haven't given you enough time to slow down. I heard you have 7 seconds to slow down.
license plates need to be remade and OR changed because having a camera or not...the quality, angle, eyesight, memory, and speed are contributing factors of people getting away with doing hit and runs....
Vancouver has no arterial highways. It has 'stroads'. Stroads are streets posing as highways. There are businesses on streets. People live on streets. Streets are totally inappropriate for carrying arterial traffic - but that's what Vancouver does. Totally negligent planning from way back. Road allowances are far too narrow. Through traffic is forced to compete with local traffic. That's a Very Bad Mix. Did you know that Vancouver International Airport is North America's only international airport that doesn't have any roads leading to it. Just streets. You exit Highway 99, onto Richmond STREETS. Drive for blocks past all kinds of businesses, then finally, you reach the airport grounds. NOBODY ELSE DOES THIS IN NORTH AMERICA. No wonder Vancouver has a per-vehicle accident rate triple that of Switzerland and Germany, and five times that of the UK. Mind you, can't blame planners entirely. In the early 60's they did plan to build traffic arterials in Vancouver but the usually retros showed up and started ripping out their hair over the idea. Protests. Stomping of the feet. Hissy fits everywhere. No referendum was held, however, so we'll never really know what percentage of the population was opposed to traffic arterials. However, the politicians backed down and Vancouver was left with the worst traffic gridlock in North America for years running. (Conde-Nast Magazine)
I feel like I've seen these videos before. Are you trying to make some cash? LMAO. Thanks for not doing the annoying and mostly incorrect commentary. 😆
Guy, at 1:54, is a great driver. Doesn't panic and just slid through without getting caught in a 3 car pile up
That girl full sprinting into traffic is absolutely baffling.
That happens so often in the city. Pedestrians just don't give fuck until someone smokes 'em.
That was the true definition of Fuck around, found out
She just walked it off lol
@@bananian Guarantee you she felt it the next day.
Probably on drugs.
That rollover around the 1:28 mark must have been scary. Not to mention there was a baby in the cammer's car.
The impact was dramatic, especially because it appeared to have dislodged the camera mount from the dash.
The rollover what going in the wrong direction.

Whoa its been a while xSupaD! Great comp once again!
The last clip is pretty scary. Wondering if they suffered a heart attack or something.
From what I heard, it was a food delivery driver who forgot to put their car in park. The car was empty and you can see him chasing his car near the end of the clip.
@@xSupaD LoL might have been a good idea to include that little bit of info in the clip like the other one with the Mazda

Great videos! Good to see you doing these again
Thanks!!

Wth? They didn’t charge him?! That’s ridiculous. I’m sorry that happened to you.
Sorry bro I got pissed from just reading this
VPD is a fucking joke, not surprised. Sorry that happened to you man
Great to have you back!

Nice to see you uploading again my brother.
Yo that range rover at 6:05 was something. LIterally sideswipes a car when they could have just drove straight.
The one at 1:01 - scary. Car was in the opposing lane to start with, rollover major crash, baby crying afterwards.
That was so horrible. 😢

What is it with people in Vancouver blindly turning left when the light turns yellow? It seems like half these crashes are a result of that.

yes to it being empty and that being the owner chasing it. Apparently a food delivery driver that left the car on neutral or something
That’s a crazy plot twist

For some reason I'm detecting a large Chinese population in this region.

157 ran red light with a turning car in intersection, wow
I wonder who ICBC will blame for that. Hopefully it’s the red light runner
@@NaviSall-rr red light and last into the intersection, I assume hugely at fault plus likely speeding if they are that dumb to begin with

Its funny how so many accidents are simply people just running red lights. Such a simple concept yet drivers seem to think its just a suggestion.
The accident at the 45 second mark, was very lucky for the two female pedestrians who probably would have been run down instead of the car getting hit. I lived on that corner for a couple of years and saw/heard several accidents. It was probably the noisiest place I've ever lived.

Watch out the crazies are out today.
If every intersection uses the turn left traffic light, crash will be down 50%.
Same car same situation in the first 2 clips what are the chances

Yup, that is correct. If I remember correctly, ICBC deemed the motorcycle 100% at fault, thanks to the dash cam footage.

what's worse is people doing a left will go when it turns red
The streets are too narrow, plus there's cars parked on the sides.
