I honestly think One Trip should pay more attention to the background knowledge of their guides. I have watched several videos by Sonny and most of the time I found them disappointing. I mean before taking foreigners out to the food tour, they should really research carefully about the ingredients and techniques that people use to make the food. For example, excuses me, when the guide said they put just water in to the fish sauce to reduce the intensity of the sauce, he made a horrible mistake. Putting just water cannot reduce much of the intensity of fish sauce, and plus, that is just not how they make Banh cuon's dipping sauce.
And please, stop calling everything that has the word "banh" in Vietnamese "cake". It's frustrating, even for a Vietnamese.

I too would love to see you eat the family style/home style dishes eaten with bowls of rice, like canh chua ca (hot sour soup with catfish), thit kho (braised pork), bo bay mon (beef 7 ways), etc. which are hearty dishes, in my opinion, and pack strong flavors. Love your videos!

hey sonny, i love ur channel and vietnam i have been there many times but what i realy miss in ur videos is the north of vietnam hanoi is for me one of the best places for streetfood... Bananaflowersalat with fried eel, bun cha ha noi, sikworm pupa, glas-eel soup, egg and mudworms omlette or black chicken steamed in a can with herbs looks strange but its so good i think the name is ga tan... and many more awsome stuff i canot remember anymore its long time ago but when i watch ur videos i want to come back to vietnam... pls visit some more places from the north like ha long bay, ky son, pu luong, sa pa, ninh binh...

Hey Sonny. You should find a place that makes one of my favorites, banh chung. Make sure it's the one shaped like a log. You can eat it as is, with fish sauce, or sliced and pan fried until crispy (my preferred way to eat it). Keep up the good work!
