This was exactly what i was looking for. I want to use HB JA Baritone 30 as a bass vi as well. Sounds and lookds great. You could have added some playing with effects.
Yeah the tuners handled things just fine (still do) although theres a somewhat plasticy feel to the buttons and i do wonder if one day they'll just break off when tuning, but ive used this most weeks since i got it and its not given me any issues. Not alot of drilling, just needed to widen the holes a little, I dont have any specialist equipment so just shoved a regular hand drill in there.
This is what the video is about, its tuned like a bass in this video: E-E an octave below a regular guitar. theres .90 on the E in this video, but i've gone as heavy as .102 i think on my other bass VI's
Did you make any other mods (wondering how bridge deals with Bass VI strings) and have you had any issues with continued use as a bass VI. Im considering doing the same with mines
I had no issues with the bridge or using it as a VI long term. I ended up selling it a few months back but up until then it was my regular rehearsal bass
Nice. Ordered one and will tune it like a Bass VI as well. You mention it’s it’s own thing, but alas it’s also a direct copy of the limited release Squire baritone that is selling used for big $$$ used now, when it was originally cheap. But the Harley Benton is available now and a good platform for mods. I plan on upgrading the p90s and installing locking tuners.
Weirdly, for such a cheap instrument, im acually loving the pickups. This is the bass vi i keep ay my rehearsal space so it still gets plently of use and i have no real complaints over the electronics. However i shoud say that this might be one of my first p-90 equipped guitars, so maybe im just a p-90 sorta guy and didnt know it?
Nice. Mine said the same thing then I got a dispatch note 3 weeks later and it took about another week to arrive, hopefully yours will arrive quickly too.
Love the black/sepia and white/yellowish filming portion of this video, really works!
Sounds great in VI mode!
Yeah I’m really happy with it

Great, now I want to play one of these…
Build one! You can definitely do a better job.
@@TheoAndHisPedals maybe, and then you’ll try it!!!
Check the Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster Baritone in Black ...
Great review, thank you !
What strings did you use?
Did the tuners accommodate the thicker strings..and how much drillung was needed for the body through holes

@@TheoAndHisPedals that’s great to hear! I can’t wait to play this thing.
Hi! Which strings did you use?
Great video by the way!
Thank you! I'm using the Ernie Ball Bass VI set.
@@TheoAndHisPedals did you had any trouble to fit them through the bridge ?
Did you need to widen the nut to put the bass vi strings or did they just fit without adjustments?
Actually, yes i did, i forgot about that. I think i only needed to widen the E and A slots a bit.
Mine is ordered. 14-17 week wait...
