    That absolutely sucks man. I get the rotting/rusted concerns, albeit not sure whether its just cosmetic or an actual hazard if it's a support beam. Seems like the rotted portion is just the side-skirt, but I don't know enough about that car, so I digress.
    It's so upsetting to see it becoming impossible for people in many countries to build their own vehicles and customize them. Governments love to say that it's for the safety of everyone, and for the pollution aspect of it. But in the end it just boils down to control.
    Sure, your car might be less efficient, but is it really going to do anything to the environment? No, it is not. From the global statistics of greenhouse gas emissions (2016), it seems like out of all the different sources, about 16.2% of that pollution is from transportation. Now if you single it down to road transportation, it goes down to 11.9%. And this number includes trucks.
    Now, beyond that 11.9% is purely speculation, but if you assume that 80% of that is from your average Joe driving to and from work, you get around 9.5% of total greenhouse emissions being from the average person driving their car. I would imagine that trucks make up a significantly larger %, but trying for worst-case here.
    The point becomes is... How many people are actually seriously modifying their cars? 5%? 10%?. If 10% of people modified their daily driven cars and made them create 2x as much emissions (which is way more than I would assume normally happens, but I may be wrong), the global greenhouse emissions would increase by 1% if I did the math right...
    Like damn, we're really trying to scrape less than 1% off, meanwhile almost 25% of global gh pollution is from industrial manufacturing. But yes, blame the dude in his garage trying to make something unique, for the ice caps melting.

    • @802Garage
      @802Garage 2 года назад +1

      Here in the Northeast USA it's salt and winter in general. Large temperature swings are also hell on cars. Here in the day it can be well above freezing and even rain. Moisture in the air gets everywhere in the car, especially if rust has already started. Then at night it drops well below freezing and fast. Any trapped water turns to ice and expands, wreaking havoc on paint and metal alike. Salt of course speeds the process anywhere metal is exposed and new rust traps more moisture. It's such a pleasure!

    Unfortunately that rust up behind the rear beam mount is all too common on these 'early' Fords especially the Puma ('98 - '02) although the earlier Puma seemed to have been made with better quality metal compared to the newer/later models. • @802Garage

      @@MakingforMotorsport I think the easiest way to understand TikTok is this: How many RUclips videos have you watched and thought "Wow, this 10 minute video could have told me everything I needed to know in 1 minute." I'm not saying that's all videos. Of course many videos are better in long form or need to be longer to properly explain or demonstrate anything, including a storyline. TikTok is just short deliveries of content and the best deliveries perform the best. The algorithm is incredibly clever and the more you use the platform the more you will like all the videos presented to you. That's the dangerous part, as it will suck your time away. In terms of posting content, the key is to provide as much value as possible in as little time as possible. That's really it. What value can you provide your audience in 15 seconds? 30? 60? 3 minutes? All valid on TikTok.
      The best part about the platform, in my opinion, is that every single video gets a chance. Unlike RUclips, where you have to first convince the algorithm, by somehow getting views, to even show your video to more people in some form of suggestion, and then you have to convince the person to click via thumbnail and title. On TikTok, your video will simply come up for someone. If you do a good enough job hooking them and showing something they want to see, you get a view. The more people watch, the more people it will get sent out to.
      I could keep going, but I think the most important part about embracing TikTok or Instagram Reels or RUclips Shorts is to understand that they are just a different form of content delivery which is more dependent on the immediate perceived quality of the content and less dependent on the presentation of the content. Basically, is your video good in the first 3-5 seconds vs did you do a good enough job making your video look interesting so people will actually click? After people are watching, it's all about quality and value.
