The transgender friendly workplace a guide for managers

  • People think that it's just a transition from male to female or female to male, but we understand that there are many trans identities, called non-binary identities. And really employers, instead of trying to label them all or understand them all, we should just respect that people can have these identities, and respect that people can come to work in a variety of gender modes.
    A lack of transgender awareness means that many trans people feel unable to be open and honest with their employer, and this in turn can affect their morale and performance.
    Supporting transgender staff isn't just about tick-box diversity exercises, or complying with equality legislation. It's about responding to the different needs of all staff and affording everyone the dignity and respect they deserve.

      And you're a moron, you do know that 1.7 percent of humans are born intersex, meaning their genitalia is not purely male or female, the same percentage of humans say their neurology is not reflected by their genitalia. What a coincidence!

    I don't give a shit what someone identifies as at my workplace...if you do a good job and are reliable, do what makes you happy...if you want to go by "she" and wear a dress to work and your job performance isn't affected go for it...all that should matter is being able to perform.your duties

      That’s true but that’s not what’s being argued here. They want special status for their religious belief that a transubstantiated soul makes it justified to peep on the opposite sex, be sexist, often exhibitionistic, and compel everybody’s speech. In fact, what you said about trans identification being a matter of putting on a dress in your conception is an example of wrongthink that I guarantee would get you reported to HR by trans coworkers under 30 right now.

      When you become less obsessed with your gender and more focused on you as an individual with unique personality traits, it probably will not matter as much. But if being misgendered hurts that bad, there is always counseling.
