Knocking out tap hole in ceramic sink, it is a bit scary. The sink is from Howdens joinery and it was about £300 Created by VideoShow:videoshowapp.co...
Top side is glazed without pilot hole so it would be difficult. On sink instructors stated to only use hammer and point punch, it is so scary to be honest. I tried to deepen cut from underside first
This is the incorrect way of doing this .. I've knocked out loads using standard method.. You sart at the outside of the circle not the inside as you will guarantee to break the sink ..Next time I do one I will upload it ..
Thanks for sharing that. I'm uncomfortable with punching around the edge. I used to do that way, and that is how I got my first broken ceramic sink. The sticker was not corresponding to the hole cutout perfectly, it did not line up with the hole, so when I punched on the edge of the sticker I was actually punching a way outside of the hole causing ceramic to crack. That was the time I've turned to punching the centre of the sticker, which is guaranteed to be within the hole. And then clearing/ chipping the edge. Some brands do place the stickers perfectly in line with the hole, others don't. This particular sink in the video had sticker misaligned for about 5-6mm All the best 👍
Can't u use the same drill bit on both sides instead of hammer? 🤔
