  • Brent comes from a city that birthed music icons Otis Redding, James Brown, and Little Richard. Let’s add a few more to the list: Bill Berry and Mike Mills (known as the rhythm section for supergroup REM) also once called Macon, Georgia home.
Out of this great city in Georgia also emerged the Legendary Capricorn Studio and Record label, which drew artists from Elvin Bishop to Marshall Tucker and Delbert McLinton. The arrival of The Allman Brothers to Capricorn set in motion what many would call the Southern Rock movement.
This rich tapestry of sound created by such diverse artists impacted Brent Cobb as he grew into creating music of his own. Brent has arrived at a place he likes to call “Southern Eclectic”, a term he feels best defines the set of story songs on his newest album, called Southern Star.

I’ve never had the pleasure of seeing Brent Cobb but I’ve consumed every piece of live performance I can find on the web and it always amazes me how easy he makes it look. Like he’s telling a story to a group of friends (as we just had an earthquake in Long Beach, CA!). Great singer, songwriter, storyteller and the new album is awesome! I really enjoyed this….except the ANNOYING adds that seem to know exactly when to play.
