You can even add as a 4th item (AD BUILD) the new Hexplate something (sorry I play in Spanish) the new item that gives you 55ad 20%as 300hp and gives u 35%AS and 15%MS when u ult gives you way more damage when u ult than botr (unless u need its passive). and u even become tankier

In my personal testing, I saw that if you have enough money for it when you base, its lich bane first item since it does the most dmg (obv because it costs the most). Also the MS you get from it is insane. Lianhuadao (CN Nr.1 Kat) does the same for now. He goes either stormsurge or lich bane first item depending on how much gold he has when he recalls for first item.

I see a lot of Nash > Stormsurge > Shadowflame. Just the same items just swapped around a bit. I think this makes some sense with electro. But I still like my build orders better with Dark Harvest or Conqueror for sure.

Went to test around myself with as kat as I enjoy as kat way more than ap, and im glad it’s viable again. Plus after throwing out your entire combo, you still do a shitton of damage with autos while with ap you’re kinda just waiting for cooldowns
I think win rate items will plateau to on-hit / semi-on-hit builds, due to AH nerfs. It already felt ages as katarina in S13
I think AH was fine last season except for some outliers like Zed, Lux and whatnot.
I feel like everything will plateau with item win rate sites, if you're not curious of item interactions.
Rage blade actually still allows crits, it only has base onhit now
So, I actually did the Stormsurge Shadowflame opener myself, but with conq page. Do you think the other builds are flat out better when going conq or? Although I guess your first conq build is the same three items in a different order lol. I guess the real question is...do you think those three items build order is rune dependent, or enemy team comp dependent?
Those three items are pretty much the same thing for overall damage. just depends how you are doing damage.
If you don't land much, then flat burst like elec and stormsurge will do the most.
If you land a good combo with a bunch of autos, then conq and nash will do more damage. they both apply to more than one person.
Those just make more sense to me since the damage on items are so similar. But it's not like stormsuge with conq is bad. Just a little bit suboptimal imo
Try kraken and shadowflame. Kraken has ap ratios
Finally someone that understands why i always go dark harvest with these 2 items. It literally fuckin screams SYNERGY yet people keep pinging the rune 😂🤷
Guinsoo stacks work with kraken this season. Which means Kraken Guinsoo is the strongest 2item spike on ad Kata rn. Tho yes Titanic gives defences. So for me it would be Kraken, Guinsoo, Titanic, Terminus.
Kraken, Guinsoo, Titanic, Terminus, Bork/IE, ShadowFlame same build as Kog, doesnt make sense but blue crit is asmr
How do I decide when to go AD or AP?
When the enemy team is going multi tanks, u're better off going ad (u'd be impactful since early game, unlike with AP kata)
Also vs Akali I always think it's better to go ad straight away as having an ad starter item gives u the advantage you NEED over her in early game.
Also honestly now been playing ad kata for a few weeks again & she seriously has early game skirmish strengths that AP kata lacks, a lot of times I get jumped 2v1 & if AP that's most of the time either a flash away or death, but with ad kata I find myself winning the 2v1 95% of the time 🤷. Oh and like I said against tanks it's great to start ad so u can even roam top side (to contest grubs for example, if enemy top tank happens to be there u are literally able to shred the mf solo)
Late game ad kata does not fall behind at all, unlike what I've been told before I tested it out myself 🤷, when u got the right items she is just as strong as AP
so, the best build is ad or ap for now?
So after first day of New season and being d2 right now I have to say I don't build nashors anymore one thing that annoid me the most of ap items over the last seasons were the build paths and nashors was the nemesis there with recurve bow. Ik in some matchup u start dblade and bow after with conq for the juicy aas but it was never my style and I hated it. Now with stormsurge first I have all options after going armor (zhonias), Mr (banshies), anti tank (liandrys) or pure DMG (Shadowflame). that is the utility I was looking for and riot gave it to me. Unless stormsurge gets nerfed to the ground I think Im gonna skip nashors. Tell me your thoughts guys!

I don't think it is a necessarily a better rush. but stormsurge is single target, the AoE hitting people isn't super reliable. Nashor procs on everyone and enhances your autos to help stack conq and do more dps
Just different items. depends on playstyle and preference

Kraken + Titanic is generally good when you want AD damage but it's hard to get away with building AD in lane since your wave clear takes a hit.

Is there no spot for Lichbane anywhere with shadowflame crits? Just suboptimal?
If they are already low and instantly die to shadow and lich bane from E+dagger, that's the highest burst.
lich is more expensive and applies to one person. But the damage is usually pretty similar to nash/shadow/stormsurge.
It's up to you and your squad, it's less predictable w/out a squad, like an Amumu ult then you follow up with your ult, just for the remaining 3 to just watch, it happens.
So you may lean to hit-&-run non-wombo-combo tactics.
Lichbane is not bad, I call it E build if I'm in the mood maximizing single E burst, and another miximizing Ult damage while still have useful auto-attacks after(on-hit build, but not necessarily too bursty E)

Grasp > Bami (can skip) > Heartsteel > Riftmaker > bami cinder item/liandry/titanic > repeat
this is my guess since riftmaker has the passive that gives AP based on health, and titanic lost the passive to give AD based on health.

why is nashor tooth the first pick on conqueror squishy Cocho?
Nash gives you more dps and applies to more than one person. The damage is pretty similar to stormsurge but nash is more in line with what conqueror wants to do.
does guinsoo still remove your crit rate? the item description doesn't say it
No, it doesn't. The stats on Guinsoo are all it has, it doesn't scale anymore.

Rushing stormsurge makes no sense to me.
You want to play for your passive no? Like get resets as quickly as possible. How does sturmsurge help you with that more than shadowflame would?
I just dont get why you would sac offensive stats and a passive designed to help you kill your opponent to then get go your next reset for an item that has less offensive stats and only goes off after a certain time period.
To me nashors shadowflame -> situational seems to make a lot more sense.
