Mystery Maoli banana on Kauai

Can't remember where this banana came from. There was a point there where we were hiking to a lot of remote places and finding struggling native bananas. We would cut back invasive plants and replant within the same area with what keikis the plant had. Taking home one or two fist sized keikis to plant with us. It takes so long for them to mature from that stage that I have simply forgotten their parents location. No worries though, they will eventually find homes in the local watersheds in the same way they came out.

You should visit Papua New Guinea or West Papua. There are hundreds of unique banana cultivars.
