Dear Mr. Winston, what a great musician and outstanding teacher you are! I'll never succed to thank you as much as you deserve for your brilliant technical and emotional keyboard efforts, dedicated to us all. Duke's and McCoy's spirit runs down your fingers! 🙏 🎹
Mr. Tony Winston, I have learned a lot having discovered you about a year ago. I am a Oscar Peterson, Duke Ellington, Art Tatum fan when it comes to jazz piano performance. You break these classic songs down so well, even I can catch on. Lol. Keep doing what you do because you do it well. Thank you Thank you Thank you. 5/28/2023
I love your tutorials. I’m a “barely advanced” piano player. I know your videos are time-limited. Just a small request…I would love to see you break down some of those advanced licks you do just a wee bit more so I can see what you’re doing without hitting the “back button” quite as much. Thank you for taking the time to share your gift with us!!!❤
Great lesson and with ideas I can apply in other songs too. I appreciate all of your work. Can you add You are Too Beautiful to your list of future videos please?
Could you please explain the theory behind D7 resolving to AbMin7? My knowledge of music theory is lacking, but as far as I know D7 should resolve to G... I can't figure out where this AbMin7 is coming from.
Db9 is a tritone sub for G7 (they share the same notes as 3rd and 7th - B and F), and Abm9 here is the II chord of Db when it's acting as the V. So it's not that D7 resolves to Abm, it's that the whole phrase leads to C (I). Instead of VI (Am) II (Dm) V (G7) I (C) we get: Am (VI of C), D7 (major II of C, a fairly common switch), Abm7 (II of Gb - where Db is V), Db (tritone sub for G7 acting as V), C (I)
Hello teacher, first of all, I follow your work and find it valuable to musicians, but in your old work you would share free pdf documents for musicians, and now that I'm sorry, we'd be happy if you continued to share documents God bless you.

So's not to be confused by the A half dim its just a D7 altered with the 5 in bass? I tried Ab13 its like an Fm6 with the d in melo sheesh why not
Great video! What book is this lead sheet from?
Thanx, Maestro 🔥🌹🔥
