Yo Nico, I'm enjoying your new uploads :D and I appreciate that you're still keeping the loyalty towards the Romanesca. I loved the trio sonata as well! Nice carpet btw
"intersection of theorists / people like Caplin" what's that about?

Hah! Thanks, so much, Michael, as always. I am so humbled by your consistent support!! So the whole theory thing...I am making a book for my students, basically a way to keep track of how my curriculum for them is evolving, nothing public or special. But I am trying to do it right with sources, etc. and I have come to find that this American theorist, William Caplin, has essentially used as the basis of his theories the exact same ideas that I use as the basis of my composition lessons: in a few words, that there are only cadences, sequences, and prolongations, beginnings, middles, and ends, and cadences are by the most important thing. He has done in an incredible amount of work to put these ideas on a firm basis, so I am finding myself having to cite him for many things that I thought were either of my own organization "in the aether" enough not to bother. It's a bit annoying, but mostly exciting.

GOOD stuff. It occurs that a concert that includes a few of the -- very tonal -- canons, etc., written by Schoenberg ("and THAT crowd") might be an interesting context for you and your listeners.

Crazy you should mention that! I've been brushing up a lot lately against the intersection of theorists in his circle and the lineage to people like Caplin today and "new" ideas about partimento and historical composition ...I think you're right! Thanks so much for the listen and the compliment!!

@@parallelfifths2824 You're welcome. Remember that Schoenberg continued to write tonal compositions well into his later career. He never "mixed" the two (12-note and tonal) in one piece. Looking forward to further discussion/friendly disagreement/debates with you.
