You probably already know this but incase you didn’t. You can skip waste yarn by using your cast on tail as the cast off yarn, then just pull it into itself the tube will pull the ends together automatically and is super satisfying. I hope this helps someone!💜
@@sassegranny4700 Do a few rounds using a contrasting color waste yarn. Then when you begin to use the yarn for your hat leave a long strand laying in the center. It’s called the cast-on tail. Then finish all your rounds, fold your project in half so that the bottom round of your hat yarn (not waste yarn) is near the top stitches on the machine. Ignore the waste yarn. It’s there only to help you locate the yarn stitches. You can alternate picking up a stitch from the hat just after the waste yard, then a loop on the machines hook until the project is completely off the machine. Remove all the waste yarn. So, instead of using a separate cast-off strand, you have used the cast-on yarn strand to cast-off. When you cinch it tight, it pulls the top and bottom together in one fell swoop. You can tie a knot for a two-sided hat or put a pom-pom for a one-sided hat. I tried it and it works, but I had a hard time finding every stitch because I didn’t use any waste yarn. So well explained with much laughter and excitement in your golden voice and splendid accent. You really made me giggle when you forgot to tie in the ends before popping on your pompom. You were very sincere and showed us how you corrected your mistake. That was so moving. Each time I watch your other videos you make me smile and giggle😂🤣. I am new to this machine. I watched a recommended video a few days ago on how to make socks on this machine in less than 15 minutes. I immediately purchased one which arrived on 24.03.21. Thanks for sharing caring and making me smile. A big hug from France 🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍👍👍💐💐💐💐💐💗💗💗💗💗
I am so glad I found you! If the makers of the Sentro don’t pay you or give you give you free stuff, they absolutely should! I was given a sentro by my husband for Christmas. I never wanted a knitting machine but I am a slow knitter and I think my husband had done the math and realized at the rate I knit my stash had exceeded my life expectancy so he wanted to help speed things along to get rid of the yarn all over our house 😂 To say the instructions that came with the Sentro were vague is a bit of an understatement. After cranking out my first test knit on it I was unimpressed and probably wouldn’t have bothered using it again until I found your videos! You’ve inspired me! Thank you!!
I tried to use the machine and I was left with holes and inconsistent stitches. Now that I've watched your video, I know how to change colors. I like the idea of the waste yarn. That leaves a very nice edge. Very good video, easy to follow. I will be subscribing. 😁

Hi Ms.Kate, just discovered your channel and you sure got my attention. You are so thorough in explaining how to work this machine. Please can this machine make a variety of other stitches like in crocheting? Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks for sharing your passion, remain blessed and stay safe 🌹🌹💯👀
Hi Frances! Thankyou so much for your kind words 🥰 Unfortunately this machine can only do the knit stitch, but there are are so many things that can be made with it! ❤️ Thankyou for watching 🌻

I really enjoyed this! I just got my machine today in the mail from Michaels it's the loops and threads machine. It's pretty fun. I know how to handle it already but this is just kind of a cool novelty to have especially when making a bunch of hats or something. Thanks for the great tutorial!
Hi!! New to this machine and was wondering if you still have/use the sentro to this day!! I see that this video was 3 years ago so I am curious to how long they last before problems!!😁
Hello I am a new subscriber. I wanted to ask if there is a video to make pompoms or maybe the weight of the yarn you made the pompom. It looks really fluffy. Thank you!
Just subscribed to your channel. Love your videos. Please is there any way to reduce the size of the beanie using the 48 stitches size machine to make like a baby size?

@@ildikoesztergalyos7306 I do, too! I've debated getting a Sentro... However, I've ordered just the round plastic looms for now to try the concept before I buy a machine. The Sentro is not expensive here in the States, but I want to be sure I like doing it and understand the basics first. I've crocheted for many years and love it. Then I saw a couple of tutorials on this machine and the more expensive large Addi, and it looked very interesting and fun. So.... Baby steps! I have tons of yarn and would love to make hats and scarves for the homeless or charities. Also little blankets for the ASPCA to help keep shelter animals warm when it's cold at night. I'm going to watch every video I can, maybe more than once, if they're good, like this one!. I'm getting a KB loom tomorrow, although the gauge is 3/8", which is a bit tight to learn on. I plan to use it for tighter knitting once I know what I'm doing. A Darice Loom set (4 circles in the wider gauge) is coming sometime this week. I'll learn on that one. Then.... If I love it like I think I will, I'll get a knitting machine. Good luck to all beginners out there. Please share what you're making so we can all be more and more inspired! Please take care and stay safe. Char from Phoenix, Arizona USA 🇺🇸🌵🌄🏜️ (Phoenix is in the Sonoran Desert in the far southwest of the US. Two of our borders are California and Mexico. So.... It's HOT here for most of the year. 😏 There are a couple of months in the year when we can "sometimes" wear a hat and scarf. I don't care! I'll donate to charities located in colder parts of the US, supply my sons with hats and scarves (who live here and in Southern California🥴) and send lots to my daughter and her partner in the state of Oregon, where it does get cold a lot. And shelter animals can always use a little blanket to lie on or cover up with! Ok... That's all, folks! Can you tell I'm excited about this? Happy Knitting! 🧶
Yes! I don’t use waste yarn. There are many different colors and styles that you can make beanies with. Just have fun & enjoy the craft of hats scarves & ear warmers 😁
I just bought a gently used Sentro, I think it's a 40 or 48, have you Made baby sets on your machines, what's the best that this particular machine can handle?
Great video but can you please show a close up of stitching it together at the end portion? I keep dropping a stitch and I’m not sure how that is happening. One time I could not pull it closed. Thank you in advance!
Just made it! I'm thinking that I want it reversible because I used a mandala type color yarn and different colors will show on different sides...so....solution....PINNABLE POMPON!
Can you tie the first color to your second color and do a color change this way?! I just got mine for Christmas gift and tried it and it seems to be working. I'd do it that way when I crochet
Great tutorial Quick question. After you’ve cinched the top and tied off the ends with knots, what’s the reason for weaving in the ends instead of just cutting them off? Thanks!
Cutting your ends means they’re more likely to come undone.. especially if you’re cutting close to where you fastened off. Weaving them in is just extra security 😊
Hi Katie thank you so much for creating this tutorial, it only seemed to make child size beanie not sure what I could do differently to make it bigger for an adult I know I can make the height bigger but the side to side circumference is quite small. Is it case of needing to buy a machine with more hooks in the circle or is there a trick I’m missing 😊
@@Katieree hi Katie I realised afterwards I had the machine that only has 36 pins on it 🙂 I have now purchased one with the 48pins. Will retry again. In total you did 100 rows yeah ? Xx
i have just got my machine and haven't used it it i have been watching your videos they are very informative thank you :) I was wondering how many balls of that would does it take to make an adult beanie please ?
Probably I’d say from my experience 1- 1 1/2 skeins of yarn, although you may need more. BTW I don’t have the machine but I make many yarn projects and I thought that this was accurate. I hope that this helped!❤️
In other videos I've watched, they had to thread a needle to go through the last row before popping off - how are there no dropped stitches on yours at the last step on the machine?

Hi! The hat is super cute! I'm considering getting one of these machines, however, looking at the specs the circumference of the machine seems a bit small. Have these hat been ok size for adults to wear? Are there any considerations to make them big enough for adults? Thanks! :)
Hey Eeva! This machine is a 48 peg machine which is the biggest of the circular knitting machines (that I’m aware of). These are definitely suitable for adults 😊 you can adjust your tension to make them smaller or larger depending on your preference.. also keep in mind they are super stretchy when you take them off the machine. I hope this helps! 🌻

Hi. Love the video! Wanted know why you used the blue yarn? It was later removed .. so wanted to know why exactly we need to use that? Thanks again for this wonderful video
Hi Sonam! Check out my waste yarn video for a full explanation - ruclips.net/video/xxzUjLAE2I0/видео.html
Beautiful
Very pretty
Thank you! 🥰
Awaiting the delivery of of 41 pin knitting loom. I watched a few videos to get me ready. What I can’t seem to find I’d how you change the hat width. I have a big head my sister a small one. Advice would be most welcome x thank you
Adjust your tension/ yarn weight to change the width. The tighter your tension the smaller the hat 💛
Thankyou for watching 🌻
I love this! Is there any way you could write out the row counts for the two tones?
Hi Sherry!
This pattern is 40 rounds of the main colour, 50 rounds of the brim colour and then another 40 rounds of the main colour 🙂
Thanks for watching! ❤️
Can't wait till my machine arrives
You’ll love it!! 😍
Done my 1st hat on to 2nd one
How many rows do I do for a 2 yr old boy I can't get it right
I absolutely love it! I want it.
I really enjoyed this! I just got my machine today in the mail from Michaels it's the loops and threads machine. It's pretty fun. I know how to handle it already but this is just kind of a cool novelty to have especially when making a bunch of hats or something. Thanks for the great tutorial!
My pleasure Leslie!! Enjoy! 😁🥰
Thanks for the great tutorial. Just got my knitting machine, so this really helps a lot
My pleasure Sandy! Enjoy your machine 🥰
Hi!! New to this machine and was wondering if you still have/use the sentro to this day!! I see that this video was 3 years ago so I am curious to how long they last before problems!!😁
I had this machine up until about 6 months ago when I upgraded to the Addi! But it was still in perfect working order. I ended up selling it 😊
Hello I am a new subscriber. I wanted to ask if there is a video to make pompoms or maybe the weight of the yarn you made the pompom. It looks really fluffy. Thank you!
Just subscribed to your channel. Love your videos. Please is there any way to reduce the size of the beanie using the 48 stitches size machine to make like a baby size?
hello! thank you for making this video! i was wondering: about how many yards of yarn this hat takes? (so i know how much yarn to buy) i appreciate you! :)
Love your tutorial. How many total rows did you have and how many of each color? I watched the video but was looking in the comments for the row count. Thank you!
Hi Meredith!
All row counts are mentioned in the video but incase you missed it I did 40 rounds of the beige colour, 50 rounds of the tan colour, then another 40 rounds of the beige.
Thanks for watching! 💕
@@Katieree thank you! I’m going to give it a try!
Thanks for your great video, I have done 2 and they make up very quickly. 😍🧶❤️
During the last stop of joining the top and the bottom One,you say to match with the opposite direction right? What if i cant find the opposite stich for the One i'm working on?😅
Love your videos! What would you charge for each hat? Love my machine! Thanks Kat!
Доброго времени суток спасибо за видео. Очень симпатичная шапочка получилась. А какую пряжу использовали?
Thank you, I just found your channel and I had just bought myself a knitting machine like this although mine is a 40 stitch. This really helped !
You are so welcome! Thankyou for watching Barb! 🥰
i also wish to buy a mashine with 40 needles. can you pls help me, how big a project turns out? like adult had size? or for children?
@@ildikoesztergalyos7306 40 pin only does kid hats. U can put it on an adult head but it looks tight. 48 is most common for adult hats. 40 works good for cute earwarmer headwraps for adults thi
@@jackiecole8886 thank you 🙏I just ordered my 48,im so excited!!! I'm a crocheter, but want to give a try
Char from Phoenix, Arizona USA 🇺🇸🌵🌄🏜️
(Phoenix is in the Sonoran Desert in the far southwest of the US.
Love your instructions! I am making my first machine beanie right now!🥰
Amazing! Enjoy 😁
I just bought a gently used Sentro, I think it's a 40 or 48, have you Made baby sets on your machines, what's the best that this particular machine can handle?
I wish you showed a closer view of sewing up the waste yarn. I keep missing something and drop a stitch when I pull out my waste yarn.
Hey Laura, I now have a waste yarn video on my channel. You can find it here - ruclips.net/video/xxzUjLAE2I0/видео.html if you're still interested 🙂
So question I have a knitter with a row counter about how many rows do you use for a roll up beanie? That is without the scrap yarn I mean
I closed my eyes when you tightened the 2strands closed. Have they ever broke? Gotta have strong yarn. Thanks for your video I will try my best.
Hey Leslie! No they have never broken 🤣 I wouldn’t pull that hard unless I knew the yarn could take it. Thanks for watching! 🥰
Me gusta mucho el tejido gracias por compartir soy de chile
This was so interesting. I know this hat would fit me but what do I do if I need a larger size?
I'm not sure anyone would need a larger size than this. I have a pretty big head and this fits me 🤣
Great video but can you please show a close up of stitching it together at the end portion? I keep dropping a stitch and I’m not sure how that is happening. One time I could not pull it closed. Thank you in advance!
I learned a lot. How would you clean up a panel using the waste yarn though
Hey Jane! You may find my new waste yarn video helpful 😊 - ruclips.net/video/xxzUjLAE2I0/видео.html
Just made it! I'm thinking that I want it reversible because I used a mandala type color yarn and different colors will show on different sides...so....solution....PINNABLE POMPON!
That sounds perfect! 🙌🏼
Can you tie the first color to your second color and do a color change this way?! I just got mine for Christmas gift and tried it and it seems to be working. I'd do it that way when I crochet
Whatever works!
Thank you!
Hi I just brought a Sentro and I was wondering where you got the counter from please. Thank you
Mine came with the counter 🩷🩷
Hi Katie thank you so much for creating this tutorial, it only seemed to make child size beanie not sure what I could do differently to make it bigger for an adult I know I can make the height bigger but the side to side circumference is quite small. Is it case of needing to buy a machine with more hooks in the circle or is there a trick I’m missing 😊
What size is your machine? 🙂
@@Katieree hi Katie I realised afterwards I had the machine that only has 36 pins on it 🙂 I have now purchased one with the 48pins. Will retry again. In total you did 100 rows yeah ?
Xx
U can make so many different colors and styles of hats scarves & ear warmer, with this 48 needle Sentro 😁
Absolutely! 😁
i have just got my machine and haven't used it it i have been watching your videos they are very informative thank you :) I was wondering how many balls of that would does it take to make an adult beanie please ?
Probably I’d say from my experience 1- 1 1/2 skeins of yarn, although you may need more. BTW I don’t have the machine but I make many yarn projects and I thought that this was accurate. I hope that this helped!❤️
Hey Kelly! Details are in the description box. I used about 140g of Aran weight yarn for this beanie 💛
Hi there I love your video so it 40 one row and 50 row then 40 row how row for a men beanie hat
In other videos I've watched, they had to thread a needle to go through the last row before popping off - how are there no dropped stitches on yours at the last step on the machine?
I can't wait to try making this! Thank you for your sharing your knowledge!!😀♥️
My pleasure! Thankyou for watching 🥰
Love it x
We’re do I buy a machine the same as your plze Kate ..im in Melbourne near spot light at roxburgh park ..I no your not far away from me ..love your channel..love how you explain everything..love your puppy’s cuties ..Thanks
Hi Tracy!
Thankyou so much 🥰 I purchased my knitting machine on eBay! Here’s the link 🙂 rover.ebay.com/rover/1/705-53470-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5575608705&toolid=10001&campid=5338718432&customid=&mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com.au%2Fitm%2F283526112098
Thankyou for watching! 💛
beautiful, thankyou for your video
My pleasure Emma! 😁💕
Awesome & Thanks :)
How would you do this on the 40 pin for toddlers? How many rows of each color?
