got a BIg Cat 1250 .22 more than a year ago. I am very happy with it. The included scope was not very good, therefore I purchased a Hammers 3-9x40 from Amazon. Big improvement. The mainspring broke after maybe 4-5K shots. Very easy to be replaced. Overall good product.
Still a great pump gun even though it is mostly plastic, ruclips.net/user/postUgkxh4su9YgU1tWmjikirWcKJbjsFLEU62Bc but with care it will last a long time. It would be neat if Crosman would make a commemorative version of this with real wood stock, but of course it would weigh more and cost more, but hey, it would be cool. The included scope is more of a toy, but it does work for backyard plinking. I prefer to use pellets for greater accuracy, but BBs are just as good for plinking. This is not a Red Ryder folks; fully pumped it is 3 times the power of a Red Ryder and can be dangerous if not handled properly. Be safe out there.
Those complaining about loudness need to understand that the sound from a gun is two part: the mechanism of propulsion and sonic crack. If the projectile breaks about 1100 feet per second, it will "crack" as it leaves the barrel. The irony of the newer lighter, low friction pellets is that they are incredibly poor ballistic performers but manufacturers wanted to be able to post the most impressive numbers the gun could offer so they create super light ammunition at the expense of external ballistics just to market the gun as a "fast shooter". So if you shoot lead and anything heavier than 7 grains, the projectile will not break the sound barrier, even in more powerful guns like the Big Cat. I just picked one up and have about 200 rds through it so far. I never even found a zero with the PBA bullcrap the gun came with; at 20 yards the rounds were tumbling after slowing so rapidly, not to mention being affected by wind so drastically, enough to be vitrually worthless from hunting distance. I put about 150 Crosman 7.4 gr wadcutters through it and found a great zero at 20 yards within a few dozen shots. Now it hits 9/10 on a silver dollar size target from 20yds. I have JSB Exact 8.4 gr on order as I have heard they are the best in this gun and in others and myairgunreviews confirms this with a comment. Thanks for the video!!
Got one for my birthday today.
I love it.
My Big Cat was horrid till 100 shots. Now it's a pin driver. I've got so many kills. It's one of my favorites now
Good to know. I'm hoping that mine will smooth out. It wasn't as accurate today as I would have hoped.
I have to say this is a great gun. I've never shot a gun before and on my first day after about 40 practice shots at a 1/2" wooden board (that the pba pellets tore through) I successfully shot a bird off a telephone line 60yds away and about a 20yds high. Great for its price.
I have had mine for a few years now bought it for pest control. I built a pond and have chickens. First of all the scope is junk so i took one for a 22 rifle. I can take out turtles with head shots and possums, racoond, snakes, whatever under 25 pounds will not run off to die with one shot. May take a few im bigger animals to kill it faster but i stays down. Best low-cost quiet gun you can buy for this purpose I think
Actually, anything over the speed of sound causes destabilization of the pellet. However, there are numerous pellets that shoot fairly consistently at speeds exceeding the speed of sound, like the 7.9 grain CPHP with my Hatsan 125TH.
Gamo Big Cat is a good pellet gun i use my big cat for smile game hunting..that was a grate review keep up the good work
Yes it will. JSB Match Diabolo Exact 8.44 grain.
This is my favorite. Light and reliable
I have this gun, I like to shoot it. Actually shot it this morning in the cold Michigan winter. Tried some H&N sniper magnums but they didn't do as well as the Gammo Rockets. From 27yds resting on some sandbags I shot 7 Rocket pellets. I could cover them with 2 fingers so about a 2" group. 2 groups of 2 shots where stacked, I believe part of the reason for the group being 2" was me. If I put it in a lead sled I am sure it would be tighter. last year I took out 6 squirrels that kept destroying the bird feeders in my back yard. I took out 7 at the other house we lived at before moving. All in all a fun gun that will kill squirrels.
Most accurate petels for 20 to 25 yards???. For the Gamo Shadow.
Right now Mills FleetFarm has the Beeman Grizzly Dual Caliber on sale for $99.99
Good video, I bought this air rifle it felt good seemed to have great power but it was terribly inaccurate, always good left to right but would spread the pellets up and down like crazy at 50 yards.
Don't shoot the PBA's through it. A better pellet could make all the difference in the world.
Once you don't the right pellet it likes, (mine the crosman hunter pointed pellet) you can get crazy good results with it. I was hitting little water bottles at 60 yards yesterday. Great gun, but just keep looking for the right pellet and this will be a great all around rifle.
Yep, common defect. any loosness in the spring loaded alive arm latch under the muzzle will cause problems in elevation [high-low] and problems horizontally [left right] are due to a loose/worn barrel pivot screw or if used the shims can be worn. Problems in both areas will cause the gun to shoot unpredictabaly in any direction from center. I believe many of these Gamo and Benjamin guns come with defect loosness in the barrel area. Also most owners spend additional $150 - $200 for better scope mounts, barrel droop scope bases, better scopes etc. These guns demand the artillary hold and are very picky about pellet size and weight. Hard to shoot and not much fun for plnking and not super accurate at best - also they eat scopes due to violent vibrations from recoils. I currently own three rifles like the one reviewed - I had success using layers of black super glue and spray activator to take up the barrel slack on the sides of the barrel pivot screw and inside the hole and around the alive arm [these come factory loose in their hole = up/down play]. Friends have given me these three guns [too inaccurate for them] and I have bought several others - Gamo and Benjamin that were sent back due to extreme inaccuracy out of the box - my 1963 Benjamin pump #312 out shoots these easily but at only 600 feet per second. My Crossman 1377 [.177 pump pistol with 24" barrel] and 2289 [.22 backpacker pump ] are easy and accurate and silent so the 1000 to 1400 FPS springers are a lot of money/work and frustration to me.
Thx for this review it was realy useful 2me
im gone buy the bigcat 1250 now
I'd go with a Ruger Air Hawk or Air Hawk Elite and some slightly heavier pellets. That will help keep the rifle under 100db.
Thanks for doing this. I'm having a hard time figuring out which air rifle to buy and reviews like this help me out.
Use Tipped .177 Polymer rounds don't use the shitty rounds they give you. The Polymer rounds work real nice and penetrate vermin like Swiss cheese. I bought this a few days ago, it's perfect, though it being kind of a lengthy gun.... Having that huge suppressor on it is kind of pointless, which is where I gave it a draw back because the noise comes from the spring, not the bullets...... Though the suppressor is really good for gripping I suppose, but roaming around, it might snag a lot on brush. It is quiet, definitely not as loud as a .22, but the spring isn't silent just to let you know.
bone collector, big cat or ruger air magnum for backyard and some woods hunting in/near a residential neighborhood?
This video has been around for a while. If gamo is still producing the same quality, this is a very nice rifle. Mine shoots heavy pellets nicely.
get a nitro piston model . cant go wrong. had some gamos in past, not impressed.
Dewayne Marion what kind of scope do you have on your big cat rifle
Good job guys! You are naturals at presentations!
I just bought a Leapers 4-16x50 scope and I am still trying to figure out what mounts i should get to fit this gun. I got the gamo high mounts and I am just wondering because it is to high. I need to point the front of the scope down more so are there any mounts that will allow the back mount to be higher than the front mount? If you could help that would eb great!!!
i got this for christmas it is amazing
I found a hornet elite, and it is so much better. it has the SAT trigger, big difference.
outstanding! thank you for your help
As a review this rifle is great for first timers looking into air rifles the noise is not bad. I think it's the same as the gamo whisper that my dad uses. I have also noticed that it dose like heavyer pellits. mine likes 10.5g and the power is plenty for fox, rabbit, racoon and smaller game or pest. I picked mine up for 160 at sheels. I put the flashlight and lazer on the scope works great for night pest control. great rifle and vary helpfull video thank you myairgunreviews you helped my tons
Really new to the air gun community and I'm wondering if you had to buy another dovetail mount for the flashlight and laser.
eddie figueroa They mount onto the scope.
myairgunreviews thank you. Would you be able to recommend a better scope to replace the stock one? A mil-dot scope preferably.
eddie figueroa Hawke Sport Optics 4X32 AO Sport HD Rifle Scope, Mil-Dot Recticle
myairgunreviews thanks for replying so quickly. By the way, I've been searching tonight for the term used for the crosshair in the stock scope for this gun. What do you call it since it doesn't have a mil-dot system and is just a vertical and horizontal line?
Hi can u test the Gamo "hunter extreme se" in .22 cal?? Thanks
hi
I have one small problem.
on my air rifle gamo shadow dx is ruined plug on the non slip grip.
I'm from Slovenia and I can not get anywhere new GIP for this model gun
Can you give me advice about where to get these parts, thanks
getting mine for my birthday
Crosman TR77 has more power and is lighter. For cold weather use get the Nitro Piston version.
can you give us reviewson of velocity and accuracy these, hatsan 125 sniper .177 and .22,
gamo whisper fusion pro caliber .177 and .22 we would really appreciate it before we spend our money sir, thank you.
I never tried it but there might be some space in there.
I like u
My uncle has rat problems on his farm.Could this be the solution?
What is the velocity of this gun with the 7.9 grain CPHP?
I just bought one of these guns I haven't shot it yet but I already have High hopes for it
Donald Trump have you buyed one yet? If so, is it ant good?
Only when shooting alloy pellets.
is there more power ind the Gamo Big Cat 1250 ?
or is it the same as the Gamo Big Cat 1200 ?
This rifle is slow compared to others I reviewed, The highest feet per second I have recorded is 1388fps with the Ruger Air Magnum .177 Cal
Get a CDT tune job and the GRT III trigger and your Big Cat will Become a LION, but a smooth shooting lion! Mine (paid $89.00 for it from Cabelas), will now put Crossman Premier HP and 10.5 gr Heavies in the same hole at 20 meters and will shoot inside of 2" at ONE HUNDRED YARDS and do it with rediculous consitancy. IMO a .177 air rifle should never break 800-850 fps as you WILL lose consistancy and will have dramatic pellet destabilization. Speed is actually a BAD thing for .177 rifles.
How u are set that scope things ? Is it very good accuracy
whats the outer diameter of the barrle on the big cat 1250,
Make sure u oil the gamo 1 an check screws. Oil it win u shoot
What's the cocking effort and fpe of your big cat bro..?
thanks i think i'm going to get one. big help!
I found the scope was not good enough for the power the gun brings, you know it will shoots far, but the zoom of x4 just doesn't do it for over 20 meters
i've stopped using them i only use the cossmen hallow points and the red fire have you found a way to regain the power by cleaning and relubing the spring
Shooting PBA Ammo is almost like dry firing and you may have damaged the piston. The only way to know is to take it apart.
myairgunreviews how many pba can i shoot before damaging the gun?
I have the same one, what kind of maintenance does it require for spring and seal
Have yoi had a chance to see the New Gamo Big Cat 1250 DX
+Enrique Pabalate not yet.
will this gun kill rabbits and squirrels and whatis the best pellet for this gun
Can this gun hold the 10 pallet mag ?
I have the Big Cat and want to know if it is what I need for groundhogs in my backyard. So far I have hit them a lot but no confirmed kills. I was thinking perhaps the seals are failing and I am not getting the penetration into the groundhog hyde.
I hope any Gamo owner has all the spare parts you will ever need for your Gamo Big Cat. Gamo refuses to sell parts for mine or to any Gamo customer unless you have an FFL.
What's ffl?
@@fiestycrissy1115 Federal Firearms License
WTF! You can buy upper receivers for real ARs without an FFL, shipped right to you home, matter of fact you can buy every AR part except the lower receiver without one. I know I built my last AR. So whats so magical about parts for a pellet gun? You don't even need an FFL to buy the entire gun! lol sounds like they're just being asses
I think you should try even heavier pellets. My beeman shoots 1000+ fps but cant hit the broad side of a barn with any pellet that goes that fast. It shoots much better with 10+ gram pellets. Anything under 10 and it seemed less accurate.
is the Gamo red fire pellet good for this specific rifle
I never tried it.
is there a type of grease i should use to relube the system? if i'm going to pull it apart i'm going to clean evething so i can look for defects
I just use a light coat of Moly Paste.
I have been using the blue flame pellets for this air rifle, are those good?
I have never tried them
I have a Gamo big cat in 22. With Crossman premier 14.5 grs I can put 5 in a dime at 25 yds.
1100 FPS = 1200 km/h is possible??
You'll get more muzzle energy using Gamo Match Diablo 15.43 grain Pellets.
I shot a ice cube off of my woman’s nipple at 30 yards. Great gun
I own this gun and it won't hold zero to save your life. It has destroyed two scopes. I have no luck with this rifle
I love it
@@rubberneck9680 grogu?
how much would it cost for the scope mounts and scope?
the serial number is on the berrel?
Good helpful video. Thumbs up!~~John
What did the jsb chrony at?
How much are they and where can i buy one?
These are easy to find in the garbage bin behind Walmart.

Same Power Plant.
I'm looking for an air powered air rifle. So far the one I think I should get is the Hatsan Galation. However with .22 pellets it only shoots at around 650fps. I'm just confused how a break barrel has so much power?
I do realise that this gun is 1.77 but it's still very powerful.
Brad Weetman The Hatsan Galatian is a Pre-Charged air rifle that is charged from a Scuba Tank and shoots .22 cal pellets at 1100fps. Look at the Hatsan Striker Edge, or the Hatsan 85/95 in .22 cal.
Thank you
How many joule?
It has an FU button on the chronograph, lol
Hi, Im interested into getting a air rifle (Pellet) and im just looking for a good one that could kill gophers or birds with one shot. my budget is around 200$ any recommendations?
Derek Unterberger Amazon has the Gamo Big Cat 1400 for $179.99 with free shipping.
I have a question for you. For some reason or another I'm unable to find an air gun suppliers who still sell a SOCOM EXTREME air rifle. Do you know of anyone who sells them or are they discontinued?
Discontinued.
I have this rifle the accuracy problem for me was the horrible gamo scope it came with
Tasco 3-9x40mm from Walmart for $36.99
How fast do it shoot ind mps ?
I guess the gammo whisper 1250 will have similar ballistics
Hello,
I own a Gamo Big Cat 1250 in .22. I had it modified last year, but the trigger is not as crisp as I want it to be. How can we adjust/fix it? Can we do that by loosening the little screw behind the trigger?
Thank you in advance
+Gandalf4137 That would make the pull longer. Replace that screw with a longer one to shorten the pull. 3mmx8mm or 10mm screw.
+myairgunreviews Thank you. Should I tighten it all the way in? The trigger is not that bad and I am used to it ,but I think it could be a little better.
+Gandalf4137 Start at the current depth and turn it in 1/4 turn per shot till you get the trigger pull you want.
+myairgunreviews Thank you, sir. I will do that. Does that trick work for other brands of air rifles too?
+Gandalf4137 Crosman.
i am looking for buying gamo big cat 1250......and i did a little research and a lot of people said that its great gun for its cost, and there was those who said that its waste of money because trigger and scope are shit....but what worried me most is that someone sad that it will eventually fall apart(screws etc) and you wont be able to shoot anything......so if someone could confirm or deny that....someone who actually put 3000+ pellets through this rifle and tell how long(cca in years) can you use it??...thank you....and sorry on bad eng....
You should always check and tighten the stock mounting screws on any gun. The Ruger air hawk is a better buy.
hmmm...ok....could you, since you are a profesional, compare gamo bigcat 1250 and cz slavia 630 for me??....i have slavia 630 with Norconia 4x32 scope and i am really satisfied with rifle overall.Accuracy is great, durability and quality of rifle also great, but power isnt slavia's thing (at least for 630...only 600fps cca)......so if you could compare slavia and bigcat in accuracy, durability, power and overall quality, you would help me greatly in my decisions....i dont expect some big review just by your professional experience which one is better.....thank you a lot for your time....subscribed ! ! !
That gun is not available here so I've never tested one.
myairgunreviews hmm ok.....i will have to continue my research then...thank you for fast reply....
Dominik Stunjek Gamo guns be rebuilt and repaired if you pay for service directly from Gamo.
I know this probably sounds like a dumb question, but what's this gun powered by? What gives it power?
Break Barrel Spring Piston.
where are the last 3 shots on the first target
kenny brosh #3 left edge of the red Bulls eye, #4 right edge of the Bulls eye and #5 was just below and left of center of the red bulls eye. Those 3 could be covered with a Penny.
what pallet ?
sprint ??
So witch one would you recommend
Srry would you recommend this gun
At 12:38 he says he's give it a big thumbs up, which likely means he very much recommends the rifle.
Great Every day guns!
I should add my gun does not like some pellets. You get flyers keep trying different ones stay with lead more consistent and don't crack loudly. When u find the one you like stock up and dont change. To get that power and accuracy you got to spend a lot more money for little to no improvement
This gun has taken more large varmint than I can try to remember and truly I have never had one get away after being shot. I use it all the time and it looks like hell from abuse. Rides on tractor and gets caught in rain. If it breaks tommorow only bummer is time i have to put i. Setting up the next one.
is that the same as zombie
hi can mod mi big cat .22cal....spring piston ect. and where can i find pards for it
+Stephano Nieves Gamo wom't sell you parts
Can you shoot bbs through that specific air rifle
Is this Nitro Piston or spring powered?
Spring.
I think about 3/4". I already sold the gun so I can't measure it for you.
This is what I used on my Gamo Bone Collector to mount a 50mm scope and it works fine. Just past this in the search box on amazon.com - 1" Dovetail Dual Tall Heavy Duty Scope Ring
It was 20 meters.
I would like to purchase gamo big cat 1250fps how can i purchase n how much will it cost me?
I don't have one to sell.
Never seen 1250 fps 940 with light pellets
I'm guessing that you have never shot a Ruger Air Magnum. That's loud.
slightly more than 3/4 inch
good to know it dosent have sight on the gun it self
Hii this gamo 177cal its verry beautiful i hope to pay someone
Not impressed with the accuracy at all, but then it'll take a tin of pellets break in before it's at it's best.
I've got the same one. Groupings are about 2 inches apart at 25 yards. I still get rabbits with it but would definitely like it to be more precise. Has yours improved at all?
Pistols get stored in a Plano Gun Case and the Rifles you can see in the Wall Rack behind me.
DO NOT SHOOT THE PELLETS THAT CAME WITH THE RIFLE!!! Go buy some heavy pellets like the crosman 10.5 grain. Find some pellets that are 8.3 grain or heavier and it will get a lot quieter. A LOT!!
I had this gun it was great until the plastic cap thing below the scope came off and ruined my rifle dont buy it it's crap so I went out and bought a dual caliber beeman .177 and .22 with real wood and goes 1000fps and also with carrying case:)
Would this air gun be good for rabbit hunting?
Up to 20 yards or so.
That's just right me thank you
Oh yeah and I forgot to ask what pellets would you recommend?
I know each airgun is different but your recommendation would be a starting point
Breken Matlock Mine liked the JSB Diabolo Match Exact 8.44 grain Pellet and that has been the best pellet for many airguns.
ft lbs??
I have that
