Interesting, here in the United States it would be more common to put the caviar in between the two slices of bread and call it a caviar sandwich. It is common to toast two slices of bread, spread butter and or jelly on them , and eat them separately though. This would be called Toast. When I was a toddler 60 years ago, my parents taught me that there was such a thing called caviar , a food served only by the very wealthy at their fancy parties. It was interesting to see you eat caviar for breakfast.
My teacher explained to me that “compote” in Russian and in English is different things. You can find the right recipes on the Internet if you write “kompot”

Here red caviar is not an expensive food, but but black caviar is expensive
