My theory of the stairs:
When they walk up the stairs in the middle of the woods out of curiosity, it’s what the people who have the same stairs in their house hear at night. It’s what they think are ghosts.

I listen to your videos as I am going to sleep. The tone of your voice and cadence of your speech are relaxing. Your intonation is the same for most sentences, so it's almost hypnotic, for lack of a better world. Lulls me to sleep after a while (not that the stories bore me - quite the opposite actually).

Since the Appalachians were a part of Pangea, stitched with Scotland. These are the stories from the very beginning, what we all know is in the woods. That's why they echo the way they do. More questions than answers. Don't bring your kids into the woods with you.

@@Glucoperon I think most of these are ment to be in National Parks in if i had to guess based on what is described in the stories is the North Western United States. David Paulides who is mentioned a few times works all over the United States doing his investigations. Missing 411 is his book and has many more stories like the ones here.

At work people play podcasts and it gives me such an appreciation for your channel. You're already my favorite horror narrator, and it doesn't sound like you're reading at all and that is so hard to find. All the other podcasts I hear aren't as good, your channels are the only ones I listen to. You do an amazing job on your podcast and here on RUclips.

Its fake the lady that wrote these stories on Reddit came out that it was just creepy pasta
There's a story I heard, I can't remember if it was on here or someone else's channel but its about a man who did go up the stairs he found in the woods behind his house because he was curious after hearing all those stories about them and apparently while on top of them he fell back and landed on his head only to realize that he literally fell back in time I think he said about 10 years. He also said he was able to return to the present only after climbing back up the stairs and then falling back down in the same way. Honestly who knows what's true and what's not but wouldn't that be some crazy shit if these abandoned stairs in the woods actually concealed time fractures...maybe that's why there so secretive and in every story the person always mentions how nobody is allowed to talk about them or go up them. Well maybe one day we will find out the real truth..or not.

In the Black Hills in particular. My dad even told us they just appeared one day when he was young.
It gave me chills to hear the story. But even if it is fake, there's some truth to it somehow
It's a urban legend that settlers will tell their kids so they wouldn't hurt them self's searching the woods. Ps. It took me 3 hours of searching the internet also the legend is walking up them allows you to see the future but at a cost also some staircases will go underground and these will lead you to the past but again at a cost like your early death or the death of a family member or pet. So yay lesson is see a staircase in the woods stay the way from it.

I’m in the process of becoming part of a local search and rescue group,
Ive got training nights soon and eventually I’ll be on course and further down the line I’ll be on a call out list.
I swear, if I see any stairs out in the woods I’m never gonna be able to look at the woods the same way again.

Sci-Fi theory for 38:00 story: That loud sound has got to be an acoustic tractor beam. The two officers got caught up in it by whatever cloaked aircraft likely abducted the little girl, but when the craft saw it was two adults, they retracted the beam. Later, the entities likely played a recording of the girl crying to try and lure in the officers so they wouldn't talk about the sound they heard.
