It's incredible to see what Gemmy had brewing in the background for certain years of their older production line. This guy is a beautiful example of those amazing masterpieces. In some ways I actually prefer this version. Mainly because sometimes simplicity is all you need. The fact they made an even more simple version of the Party Monster with simplistic head and mouth movements plus simple Gemmy glowing eyes was just awesome. It's cool to see what could've been. Thank you for sharing this piece of history with us! Keep it up Donovan!
@@dd_richart1 Oh yeah! I kinda wish Gemmy had experimented with that base more. It's not only more unique but it's also more realistic as well. Definitely not bad!
Sadly, for the brain monster, he is one of the most tragic gemmy characters who never got remade in 2011 alongside count Vigor, rapping Edwardian butler, Leatherface, and dr shivers.
Seeing as this is the second version of the brain monster that's been cut down in cost, and how much trouble gemmy had finding a buyer for the brain monster to begin with, I think it's very possible that in another timeline we may never have seen the brain monster make it to production, and party monster would have been the more expensive version of the "basic" monster. In fact, I'm surprised the brain monster in general wasn't scrapped after nobody wanted to take the chance on it in 2005. Also glad you brought up the cost of LEDs back then being higher, and gemmy didn't use super cheap LEDs either from what I can tell. I am kinda torn about the bent neck head turn mech though, it makes the character look cooler but the head movement doesn't look as natural or kinetic. I wonder what it would look like working on a brain monster, maybe it would look a lot better with the different programming. Lights in the eyes would have been sick on the released brain monster, especially with their own programming, but that would be asking even more of an item that seems to have barely made it on store shelves. I'd love to see what it would look like if someone hooked up some eye lights to the heart LEDs, the mostly constant glowing eyes would look so good. Still, like you said- this is truly the monster of all time.

I like the base and the angled head, it really makes him feel like a unique character.

Nice.
What does KD stand for? I have a prototype greeter penguin that has that on the tag
Knock Down
@@dd_richart1 what foes that have to do with anything…
@@Dier-DecorI think it refers to the collapse mechanism
But my greeter penguin doesn’t even collapse… it is literally a regular swaying mech
@@Dier-Decor It typically implies the item becomes smaller, or comes apart.
Wow it's got weird audio quality
I really love the hunchback and anonymous bald head. It's really defined lol
Ooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Awesome
