Here's the code for anyone who wants to copy & paste: setNamedPanelLayout "MyLayout"; Don't forget to change MyLayout to whatever you saved yours as, but keep the quotations!
Nice. I actually didn't know that custom layouts were separate from custom workspaces. I've always used custom workspaces for saving different panel configurations. But this is probably a better method. Switching between workspaces often makes Maya crash.
is this possible to remeber the "Panel menu: Show" settings somehow? every time I open the scene I have to manually hide all the bones and locators since Im working with a rig. So I manually deselect bones and locators from "show" panel menu. any advice?

As often as I get crashes, I can say the layout buttons have not been among them!
Opened Maya again and the button was gone. Do you know how this happened?
And the second time a syntax error.
Didn't work.
bless you
How have I been working with maya for 6 years and never new this! This is life changing
Maya's got lots of secrets to uncover! (Glad to help though 🙂 )
