His voice and talent are tremendous. Many congratulations to this fine singer. In no way trying to compare him to Dimash, that would not be fair to anyone to say that one is better than the other. However, I have heard Dimash sing SOS many times. Each and every time Dimash's vocal talent never fails to emotionally touch me at some deeper level. I am french and i actually think that Dimash didn't perform this song very well. I know that it's hard to learn a song in another language and to try to understand what the song means. But there's a strong message in this song ans Dimash absolutely didn't succeed to share this message and the emotion through his singing. His performance was emotionless, he couldn't pronounce the word at all, like not even a little bit like it should sound in french. He confused the words while singing. He was just showing off his ability which are amazing by the way, he's an extremely good singer with an incredible technique and voice. But he focused too much on this rather than trying to actually to sing this song. Singing isn't just about the ability of making sound with your voice, it's also about sharing a message and trying to feel the song. By far one of the best renditions I've heard. Being a French native speaker, I disagree with most Dimash fans : he is not a match in so far as he can't sing the actual words and I really find it hard to listen to his rendition of the song. Maybe I'd feel different if French wasn't my mother tongue...

Honestly, this guy did a really good rendition of the song, and arguably it was more understandable since he’s French. However, I think I can enjoy both this version and Dimash’s version equally for what they are since the voice ranges are impressive for each.

Nothing against this singer, nor France, nor Dimash. I may even personally like Matthieu version better. I'm only after two of your baseless takes. Dimash was in a god damn SINGING COMPETITION, in China, as an underdog Kazakh, against the greatest Chinese singers alive (and there are billions of Chinese people), they don't care about French pronounciation. He had to give a wow effect for people to vote for him. And he did his job. Now I challenge you to listen to songs that Dimash sang in his own native language, while NOT being in a singing competition. Listen to "Samaltau". Listen to "Qairan Elim". Plus, the fact that Dimash sang it with a lot of vocal acrobatics, doesn't automatically make it soulless. He put as much soul and effort into this song as everybody else who sang it. Also, as others have said, if not for Dimash, nobody from outside France would ever find those other interpretations, and nobody would find Balavoine's original. Please challenge my argument if you can.
Please, everyone, Stop comparing this guy or Gregory or anyone to Dimash. Dimash is one of the best singers (if not the best) I've ever heard. But it is also true that he should've put a lot more efforts through the lyrics. Balavoine and this song are huge here in France because of the lyrics. So I understand that Dimash's version can be hard to listen to for some people. I'm not against Dimash at all, I love him, and yes, technically the other versions are way under his. But I think the others understood the song better. That's it. I just hate when fandoms expose their love everywhere. Sometimes it's just too much. Be respectful.

I didn't know who was this Dimash guy before reading the comments. First, I find it totally disrespectful to come here only to say how your favorite singer did it best. Now speaking of the song, this version is actually the original one, it was never about being powerful but about the emotions of the lyrics. Not saying Dimash was bad, his voice is amazing, but there's absolutely no need to compare since both versions are different.
Please, everyone,
Stop comparing this guy or Gregory or anyone to Dimash.
Dimash is one of the best singers (if not the best) I've ever heard. But it is also true that he should've put a lot more efforts through the lyrics.
Balavoine and this song are huge here in France because of the lyrics. So I understand that Dimash's version can be hard to listen to for some people.

Not to mention his French pronunciation was a lot better than Dimash’s. (Don’t come for me I’m a HUGE Dimash fan too!)
His voice is so beautiful and especially impressed with me ❤
I became to love this song because of Gregory Lemarchal and found Dimash then Daniel Balavoine with their different interpretation of the song.
this was a brilliant audition, and yeah I know Dimash, but he's one in 8 billion. This guy was an awesome singer, just lacking in a bit of expression and presence on stage.
@@jinisthepinkprincess627 just stating the facts. Not a criticism
So nice . Love it 💙💙💙
Hmm okay, everyone. Dimash is the best singer in the world. So no matter who sings it, Dimash will always stick out. But this guy here gave an AMAZING performance. Please just appreciate it instead of comparing. Dimash would applaud and praise him. If you like Dimash, please also follow his sense of collegiality :)
This guy can't sing. Dimash should give him singing lessons.
Song needs to be retired now that Dimash has KILLED IT!
Kyizen pete naga The original song is Daniel - Balavoine - SOS d’un terrien en détresse
Dimash must first learn to sing it in french
@@colorfulbleeding Yeah... true, but he still sings it better than anyone else, only french people don't like it, so what does that tell you? >.
Beau et une voix waouh sublime 🙏👋
i like seeing them crying..its honest expression..good singer
although i came here because of Dimash
No comparison to Dimash. Sounded flat.
This song is not about being powerful, it's about being emotive and sincere. Plus Dimash can't pronounce a word correctly, so his interpretation was far from excellent. He has a great voice, but it was too much in my opinion, when it was pretty good here.
@@aru4225 I won't be listening to this song if not for dimash
But his French is a wayyyy better than Dimash so there is more meaning when he sing it. 😊
@@Ekatastrophe how about me who doesn't understand or speak French.... Music is a universal language of the soul (not the ears)that has no language barrier
to me it wasn't very captivating. could be more fluid, and his higher notes could have been sung more beautifully, but that's why the coaches who turned are there for :)
Bravo♥️il chante tres bien et tres juste
Great vocals...I believe you also have excellent singing skills. Don’t let any negative comments get you down! Stay Positive and keep singing 🎤🙇🏻♀️👏🏽❤️🔎🎶🎵🕊🇺🇸
