As a big reader and as a Latin American girl growing up in a Hispanic school, I'm so surprised and HAPPY to find a song from Seventeen about "DON QUIJOTE de La Mancha"! which is a book we study in Literature at school, cause the words are old fashionated and has a lot of allegories, and it's just part of our lifes and culture growing up. I love the friendship theme in this book and I'm happy to know Korean people also know about this BOOK!!! Wow Seventeen are only intelectuals...
@@patata_17 do you know we speak Spanish as well and have to study Spain's history since we shared SAME history cause we been COLONIZED..? Literally is a classic and a must in Latin America's literature.
1:15 Minghao's part to the 1:22 wonwoo's part is so addictive to me. My brain keep playing 'SAY MY NAME' I can't get over it And ofc the killing part 1:34 mingyu ur lines always iconic
Joshua's "ice and motivation", wonwoo's "say my name!" Part, mingyu's "my hands up, I keep em high' scoup's raspy voice in the last part, and jeonghan's ending. Bro this song is legit masterpiece!
Thank you so much for the quick lyrics upload! it helps carats appreciate the song even more knowing these meaningful lyrics quick correction! at 0:35, Mingyu is referencing "LaMancha's windmill", where La Mancha is a real place in Madrid that actually inspired the original author of Don Quixote. The significance behind the windmills is that Don Quixote actually tries to fight them in the novel, mistakenly thinking that they're these huge & scary giants. Once he finds out that they're not evil as per his imagination & are just windmills when another character points this out, the windmills come to symbolize our personal struggles with imaginary demons who we've probably over-inflated due to our own fears. hope this helps for other literature nerds out there!!
You are right except it isn't on Madrid, it's in Castilla La Mancha, another part of Spain, and the one who points it, it's Sancho Panza, Don Quijote squire's, greetings from Spain ^^
As a big Literature fan and as someone who had to study this book at my Hispanic school, I can confirm this is a beautiful (yet difficult) book to read while you grow up, or any time of your life ofc. It does make you think a lot, and I'm glad some of the Seventeen boys had read this book before and even MADE a song about it. It's just GENIUS!!
This song is fire! I can't believe svt is consistent in giving b-sides that are equally as good as the title track. My most fav part is from Wonwoo's part to Seungkwan's from 1:22 to 1:58
1:40 chan's little vibrato on "nan" is so pleasing 1:46 seungkwan killed it, plus the instrumental is so...enriching there? i guess that is a good word for it very good song
I love the song. It's the message of DON QUIJOTE DE LA MANCHA. We individuals are right, may be idealists and have to fight against all odds, against windmills. I am weird but not afraid. I don't care. SEVENTEEN, you are representing me with this song. I love you!
@@sofiapardo9194 hola. Their vibes kinda matches with the order they appear in the song as well. Woozi appears first (0:05) and it feels like he is feeling rebellious and the seeds of rebellion are sown. Hoshi comes (0:56) and sounds like he is ready to fight and is so determined. Seungkwan's part (1:45) feels when he is actually taking on the society and fighting for what he feels is right, feeling tired but still powering his way through despite it all (which is also my fave part in the entire song, absolutely love the way he sings it). And then comes DK's considerably brighter voice (2:23) which sounds like he has defeated them and is revelling in his victory.
