I love how the beginning of this stream you open the door to find the guy that was wounded and left the door open and then immediately brought the monsters in and then locked them in with him
I was told the cold slows down sickness. its being huddled up in a warm place that you don't air out frequently that can cause sickness in the colder months. It gives the sickness warm breeding grounds.
Yeah, I've heard this too. I've actually heard both sides equally but never bothered to do research into how the weather affects your immune system so not sure what is true.
The 1982 movie is rip with theory’s and because of the way John Carpenter wrote and directed they are almost all equally as plausible. The stories from the movie are also crazy. They don’t shoot them like that anymore that’s for sure. Carpenter would purposely give people contradictory or misleading scripts to catch genuine surprises or freaked out reactions from the actors when a creature reveal happened. The most iconic of which being the head scene.
Yeah, I need to watch the movie at some point soon. Whenever we hear stories like that about movie productions I always wonder how true they are and how much is hyperbole. I might be a little cynical lol.
I just remembered another early 2000's horror game that's pretty fun and it's kinda similar to The Thing it's called Extermination and i'd like to see a remake or remaster of that game
Wanted to ask if you enjoyed the playthrough overall because I thoroughly did. It's also amazing how our playthroughs were vastly different and I'm still hoping this game gets more content added to it. It's the perfect remaster I think but I do admit that compared to other recent remasters like the Soul Reaver 1 and 2 remaster that this does need a little bit more extra oomph for $30. However I'm hoping people support it and I know people are because this is still a fantastic game especially for anyone who is not experienced it🎉
Also a few quick tips A you have a quick heal and quick flamethrower button so you don't have to always go into the wheel to access your flamethrower. You can just cycle between your primary weapon and a flamethrower easily. B only about three or four soldiers in the entire game are scripted to turn into things the rest are completely random, however the soldiers that are already things will always be things. You can take pretty much any Squad member through multiple levels as long as that level does not have a vent transition or a transition that Blake can only go through. Otherwise Squad members will always be with you for at least one or two levels. C if you can get your squad member that is panicking away from what is making them Panic immediately they'll return to normal. The game doesn't explain this to you very well but if you ever replay the game it's best to keep hypos on you for certain situations only. D the best strategy for taking out bosses and bigger things is to just cycle between flamethrower shotgun and kill them within seconds. E the SMG is probably the best Squad weapon in the game and never give them a grenade launcher and honestly the grenade launcher in general is pretty useless as it damages you more frequently than it kills anything else.
I did have fun and I can see why people loved this game in 2002. I just wish this game had gotten the same treatment as the recent Dead Space Remake did. That would have been awesome. As it stands, the visual and quality of life updates weren't enough to not make the game still feel/show it's age and it needed more content for that $30 price tag. If I wasn't a creator and bought this as a average gamer I'd kind of be a little disappointed with it.
My Hope Is they would add more content to this game. Maybe a survival difficulty and maybe some optional content. I actually managed to keep about 90% of my squad alive to each level except for the ones that are required to reset your team. My goal during my playthrough was to make sure every single Squad member got safely to the end of the level before I went to the next one. Something you could not do in the original and quite frankly there are certain areas they made more difficult because of the fact you can take most of the squad to the end of the game or to the end of levels. The only real downside this game has for the price tag is the fact it has no replay value and no real trophy hunting.
Yeah they were pretty upfront about what this remaster would entail which is good. But, I don't know that a remaster like this was necessary. I can tell the game was great for it's time and I still did have fun with it. But it feels very dated all around now and could have used more refreshing.
@@SkillyMcFillyin the movie it comes down to MacReady and Childs, and we never know if either are infected. I just thought it was cool MacReady picks you up in the end.
@@HomeGuitarMods The evidence of Childs leaving the camp without his coat for hours and reappearing was the tell in the movie, which McReady hints at in the last line of the movie.

I wasn't going to lock myself in with them.. lmao. Thanks for watching.
(takes away medics gun)
(5 min later)
Skilly - "oh no the monster got our medic
He still has fists doesn't he?! Just kidding.

Nostalgia, flamethrowers and laughs on a cold Wednesday? Yes please! Epic work as always Skilly. Thanks
Hell yeah, glad to hear you enjoyed the stream playthrough of this. I had fun revisiting 2002 lol. Thanks for watching.

Ha ha ha ha. "Invisible blurry finger" now. Brilliant!
lmao, I'm rolling with it for sure!
I'm sure someone has already said this before...but damn, some of those monster "squeals" upon dying sound like an old man wheezing.. :D :D
Sound design and folio work is pretty incredible how it’s done. Could totally be that.
Such a splash of old school games with this lol
I felt like was back playing a PS2 or early PS3 game. It was a nice trip down gaming memory lane.
@@SkillyMcFilly for sure! Now a totally remastered or a new game would be nice!
59:52 The per usual.. There was a man here. He's gone now.
lmao, I want to make that Silent Hill 2 reference into the comeback meme for sure.

Nice, I just looked it up and it came out in 2001 a year before The Thing came did. I see the similarities from screen shots.

you were doing way too many input presses to equip some items lol it's old code it goes off number of times pressed not by animation
It's supposed to be refreshed/remastered code!
😊😊🏆🏆
❄️Happy National Gingerbread House and Poinsettia Day everyone❄️
Thanks for watching. That's 2 very interesting days to be mashed up together lol.
Wassup 🤘🤘
Yo, thanks for watching!
The thing was flying the helicopter. You helped it escape.
wut? That's objectively wrong
I've no idea. Never seen the movie. But I didn't think the main character in the movie was infected.

I missed it. 😢
Thanks for supporting the stream VoD!
I’m so late!!!!! Wait, am I late?
No worries, I always let the stream VoD's auto post for people who couldn't make it. I know it's not exactly the same but better than nothing right?!
@ yeah, sorry about missing it. I had just woken up when you went live and had gotten my chores done before seeing it
