Great video. If running 2 sets of tyres the other issue to consider is the ageing effect of your tyre. If running AT as your everyday tyre you will clock up the Klm during the life expectancy of the tyre. Therefore the tyre walls will still be in good nick and the silicon compound in the tyre hasn’t hardened (loose of grip and more road noise). The same come be said about those expensive MT tyres. storing your tyre correctly also makes a big difference
Great video. I have a Suzuki Jimny and was looking at a spare set of 215-75 r15s for off-road use and keep the factory 195s for onroad. Larger tyres really hinder on road performance for the little Jimny, especially on the highway, so having two sets would probably save me in the long run.
Thanks mate , good stuff. I'm considering getting a spare set which are the same as your factory 18s. My current standard 20inch set are not friendly enough in the sand. What do you think if put better off-road tires on the 18s which you have? I won't be doing crazy offroading and it's just desert and rock where I live. I do not want to kill my cars on road manners too much.
Diff lockers are the best way to increase off road ability on any vehicle. Big flashy tyres wont do much when you are spinning a wheel because it's lifted off the track. And the price is comparable
Is there any change between the model variants and being able to run 35's with out lift. Ie does the HBMC cause any grief with squeezing 35's under it standard
Great video.

They are called Black Rock, but they don’t make them anymore

I choose both
Dave could you list the size tyre you can fit on standard suspension and with a 2 inch lift , 18 and 17 rims please
The answer is 35”, thats with or without lift. Any bigger and you need new UCA, K frame spacer and a few other bits
DASH OffRoad thank you
Getting my y 62 in three weeks time , not that many in South Africa only launched 1 year ago , thanks again

if the tyre is wider than your wheel arche,.............it wont fit, work it out.plus your suspension works in an arce, not up & down.
Do these 17 inch wheels fit or do u need to makes adjustments and what are they?
They fit
your vehicle has a tyre placard, with rim size.or its in your hand book.obviously,,,any rim bigger, fits, its the offset you worry about.
What's your fuel consumption with that kind of setup?
Not the best. Check out my other vid discussing fuel myths. Thanks for watching
its a v8 petrol,what do you reckon,all these newbies know nothing,get yourself a 4.2tdi gu.nothing else.
now we have video evidence that you have!! to put 37s on it haha
should i upgrad my suspin if i want biger tires or i can have the factory
No need to lift, but it wouldn’t hurt
DASH OffRoad what about the sbrings and the shoxs
Not necessary
No Ne k brace! All good?
Dale Harding - um, probably should have had it on. Shhh
Nice work bud, :)
Great video!
16” cannot work on a patrol?
Not a Y62 anyway
The rubber can come off the rim
