This game was played with Stockfish 10 at depth 25. I am currently working on adding Stockfish 17 and Leela and will play them at a greater depth in an upcoming video. Comment any other engines I should play!
the first time you tried this, you blundered your extra queen early. but here, just by playing simple chess, you show that any decent player should be able to crush any engine, when up a queen.
I think engines are actually worse than humans in defending this because they expect best play from the opponent. Hikaru has a playlist on his channel, where he tries to climb sacrificing his queen for a pawn in the first few moves. I think he made it to about 2400.
@@aharrypotterfan5951 not if you are defending a position down a queen. You cannot win unless your oponent blunders. So you have to play in a way that provokes that. Engines do not do that because they dont expect you to blunder.
Ya know I didn't wanna call you out last time lol but I noticed right away that you weren't technically playing Stockfish. The difference being that Stockfish's rating is about like 3700-4000 and Komodo is about about 3200. Either way man I love your videos! 😊
@@iwantcheckmate Then may I suggest a game without (or a close to no) depth constraint? I mean, maybe I'm delusional or can't recall, but I've seen it beat GMs with these odds. Maybe it was the length of the game?
Haha thank you, one of the first videos I posted to this channel was what to do if you’re rated under 1000 if you’d like to check it out. Also I was already rated 2000+ but the chess.com account was new and going to be used for a rating climb that never happened :)
@@Matrackobra Haha thank you. Also your comment made me look into what version I was playing, and it was only Stockfish 10 which came with the program. So I am changing the title and adding Stockfish 17 and Leela right now. Thanks :)
An extra queen is very powerful if you know how to use her, even against top rated chess bots. What happens if you do this same challenge but with other pieces like the rook?
Probably I suggested previously, and only one RUclipsr played with stockfish without pawns. I mean you should remove all eight pawns from Stockfish, it will give stockfish more space but less material. And you would have plus five advantage
@@iwantcheckmateI thought the king couldn’t castle out of check or into check. So your queen on h2 which covers the b8 square that’s in between black’s king and queenside rook should prevent him from castling, no?
@@stevencammerino5494 Hey! Not quite, but I see where you're coming from. The king itself cannot put itself in check, but the only squares the king covers on the way to its castling square is e8 (the starting square), d8 (the square it crosses), and c8 (the square it lands on). Since the queen does not cover any of those squares, black can legally castle (regardless of the rook passing through b8). Hope this helps! And good question :)
Because if I understood correctly, you had troubles with uploading your (stockfish 17) engine. And i had no trouble uploading custom engines so i can assume that it probably would be easier with the chess arena...
This is a fair point. This is the hardest engine I’ve played against yet so I believed I would need more queens. As I get more experience playing engines I’ll adjust accordingly :)
@iwantcheckmate It probably would have taken more queens, but that's kind of the point. It lets you find the balance point instead of just going to +8 material advantage
Bros playing stockfish 10, which is just as bad as Komodo because they don't even use nnue, sf 17 is like +300-400 ELO lol 😂 bro knows and is just milking the series at this point lol 😆

If you can play Torch
You can play against stockfish 17, 16 and 11 for free on lichess if you know how to set it up correctly.
Play Deep Blue 😂
I can help with optimizing. With Leela you can choose networks (and it is best to use with GPU). Also what processor does your computer have?

Playing bots up a queen is a skill in itself!

Something is fishy here
Stinks of some stockfish
He is on lichess btw
I know. There's quite a large stock of fish here.

Love ur vids, please dont stop posting!
You got it!
Now whenever somoene say stockfish is the greatest chess bot you can say to him that you have beat him
And then quietly mutter with an extra queen 😅

Interesting stuff. I'm actually shocked you only needed one extra queen. Did you allow pondering for the engine?
I did, I always edit out the waiting part so it’s not just 10 seconds of silence

@mikejameson7678 You're right, I'll have to do that for an upcoming video
Give Martin 30 knights and try to win
I have nothing else to watch and eat my snack then I saw a miracle :)

Another banger let’s go this video while bro
When I said oh stockfish this time my cat jumped on me
It may be more interesting with an evaluation bar
Wow you beat stockfish with only 1 extra queen that’s really impressive
Thanks! I’ll try a newer model and with deeper search depth next :)
We need the stockfish 16 version
20:13 - could have taken the b pawn instead of retreating the bishop
would love to hear your analysis and thought process against real opponents, do u have another channel or stream?
I have a Patreon where I play against viewers, and I plan to do something against real players sometime in the near future :)
Hi, have you considered, on the second game, swapping one of your rooks for a queen, instead of a pawn?
I have received this feedback! Will attempt in a future game
I like your videos
Thanks!
5:50, you can do Rxh5
*Lichess uses stockfish which is an easy way others could play stockfish*
Excellent point!! It’s not the strongest version but absolutely a great way to get a taste of the fish
1:43 take with the other one so the knight can get out
Stockfish but add a pawn until you win
try adding 1 by 1 points:
1st match you get an extra pond
2nd: 2 ponds
3rd: Extra Knight
4th: Extra Knigh + 1 pond
And so on
=D
Excellent variation! Thank you
it was losing after Qf3 but you were up +0.14 but you waited 1 move longer with Ne5 which was 0
At least that's what my stockfish 16 says
g4 first big mistake and it was -1.32 to black
Interesting, I might need to play at a much higher depth than 25 then

At 9:11 you should have forced check by capping pawn.
Instead of adding 8 points of material, could you beat Stockfish starting with only a 3 point advantage?
What software did you use for stockfish? I use en-croissant and nibbler (which is really good with Leela but I can use stockfish too)
