Thank you for saying this, I’ve only read one CH book and I thought this plot sounded familiar but I didn’t remember the “confess” stuff and I was so confused 😂
I just thought for sure that since it started with dying boyfriend saying "thanks for letting me be your first," and she looked awkward, then she's walking and seeing the word "CONFESS" over and over, that it was going to turn out that he wasn't actually her first (and maybe wasn't the baby's father). When that didn't happen I couldn't process anything else lol.
Didn't he just say "Can you mail this to my girlfriend"? Also, I hope the kid is okay. Having a parent who has sex instead of dealing with her important and pressing problems, and another who is just chill about never standing for himself and getting thrown in prison every saturdays might make his childhood rough.
That's what I hear too. Though I really don't get why the artist dude would have to "mail" it to her when she's right there. Or he could just leave it for her in the boyfriend's room. Mailing seems unnecessarily complicated.😂
It's honestly terrifying how many people purchase Collen Hoover's books and support her as she glorifies trauma in a multitude of ways. Never in my life have I seen someone write so many damn books romanticizing stalking and using sexual assault as a plot device. The people who allow her to publish her books for all the world to read (the majority of her audience being teenage girls) need to do better.
The problem isn't even people buying her books, it's the fact that most aren't even adults. Her books are marketed towards teens, which is so bloody dangerous with what she writes. And there's not a single trigger warning on any of them.

This is the first book i read by Colleen Hoover and unfortunately not the last. I read all her books 2 years ago, for a research project talking about cultural trends and problematic content. Basically, to really understand if Colleen Hoover was actually a good overall author or if it were just certain books and how she romanticizes problematic stuff. Obviously, the results showed me that while she might have very good storytellinv abilities the content of the books are actually whack. All of them are a form of trauma porn and she loves to include psuedo-incestous relationships in nearly everybook. It has me convinved that she has a fetish for it as she romanticzes these red flag relationships most of the time. This book was one of her worst ones in my opinion, and yet it somehow won romance of the year when it came out. People are clearly brainwashed. Also sidenote according to the book's acknowledgements, Colleen and her publisher hired a real artist to do art for the book and they included like 3 pieces of art in the book, which matches the art shown in the show so im assuming its the same artist.

I work in a bookstore, and my least favorite part about it is watching people buy Colleen Hoover books 😣 especially when young people pick them up knowing the themes are so problematic 😬
I once stopped tweens like 11-13 buying CoHo they had The Cruel Prince and November 9 and couldn't decide so I told them in November 9 he cheats on her with his dead brothers wife and that it's awful so they chose The Cruel Prince lol. I didn't even work in that bookstore I am just a rabid CoHo hater.
The concept of an artist taking all these anonymous confessions and using them as art inspiration could be really really cool but alas, it was not meant to be
I have read teenage mutant ninja turtles fan fiction better than her books. And they weren't toxic and were properly tagged, unlike Hoover who markets books towards teens that are not meant for teens. Or romance when it is not romance, there is not one relationship she presents as endgame that a therapist wouldn't scream at you to run from.
How many books has this woman written? I feel like everytime her name shows up on my screen it’s in combination with a new book title that’s apparently best selling that I’ve never heard of. It reminds me of my moms bookshelf with dozens of those horrible Nora Roberts books that all have way to similar covers and names and you can tell it’s the same chewed-through romance everytime.
Rewatched the clip about what the dead BF was humbling about, I think he asked the artist to mail the piece of artwork to his girlfriend. "Can you mail this to my girlfriend?" Thats what I think was said- though the idea of him mumbling and saying gibberish is funny lol
to me it sounded like "can you wriggle this to my girlfriend" and i was dying laughing for ages . i can't believe they couldn't do a better take of that
Honestly this is a good example of why piracy is crucial for archiving media in an age where you're nog allowed to own anything and streaming services can just pull anything they have whenever they want
I mean...at least the artist guy seems like the least toxic of the Colleen Hoover love interests I've heard about. Not a bar high to clear but...a somewhat positive, I guess?
I don’t know how I jumped to this conclusion but when the first scene was her saying goodbye to her boyfriend in the hospital, I thought it was going to be like the movie Return to Me and she was going to start dating a guy who she doesn’t know has the transplanted heart of her dead boyfriend. Honestly despite the wild premise, Return to Me is actually a surprisingly sweet and touching romance. If Colleen Hoover did her own version of it, she would make it awful.
The only redeemable moment from this show is the little cheek kiss Owen gives Auburn at her doorstep when he can tell she's upset, and I stand by that lmao
25:11 (Re: the boyfriend's line): Personally, I hear "Can you mail this to my girlfriend?", which in ways makes sense as an ask, I guess :D Haven't read the book to say if it's accurate.
I work in audio transcription for a living and I'm PRETTY sure the line is "can you mail this to my girlfriend.' but the fact that I'm not 100% certain says a lot about this show's quality.
FYI: the actress for the MC is the same woman who plays Daphne in Switched at birth, and she has hearing loss in real life, so I think her exaggerated expression is likened to that.
Colleen’s complete obsession with abusive relationships is so disgusting. Every book is filled with sexual assault, abusive relationships and nothing ever happens from the wrong doings. It’s just…accepted
The book ending has this regarding his last sentence in the movie: "Do me a favor,” he says as I take both of them out of his hands. “Will you mail this to her? From me?” He points to the slip of paper in my hands. “Her address is at the top and the return address is at the bottom."
Yeah, I'm probably a snob when it comes to books, but these Colleen Hoover books and their popularity really make me sad. Yes, it is great that more young adults are reading bc of her...but I just hope that loving of reading propels them to reading better things, bc there is nothing to be gained from them. Great fiction is so powerful, gives the reader an experience that nothing else can, and often helps us feel less alone in our existence, helps us better understand our humanity. I don't think Colleen Hoover's books do that. Some books that have for me are "White Teeth" by Zadie Smith, I just finished reading "A Gentleman in Moscow" by Amor Towles which was beautiful, "Native Speaker" by Chang-Rae Lee, "Killing Commendatore" by Haruki Murakami, "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay" by Michael Chabon, "Moon Palace" by Paul Auster. These books aren't as bingeable as Colleen Hoover, but the time spent gives so much more in return.
I think it would be better for a lot of those young readers to not be reading at all than to be reading shit like this and thinking that the behavior by these assholes is good. It’s dangerous.
@@NoelleTakestheSky Yeah, I honestly feel the same. If reading them ignites a love a reading that leads to great fiction then that is a positive but you are right that the damage done by Colleen Hoover's romanticization of abuse outweighs any positive.
@@alexkasper5029 The problem is that reading great stuff later doesn’t undo the damage that’s caused by them absorbing the message that abusive men are ideal. They’re not just reading these books-oh, no. Their friends are reading them, and they’re reinforcing to each other how much they want guys like these. I’ve been there-I was that teen who read abuse-as-romance, overlooked the red flags, ended up hospitalized, and was fucking raped by my abuser when I was in there, and would really rather not have these kids reading than to have them learn to ignore red flags and end up like I did, and like so many other women do. Contrary to what many want to think, reading isn’t worth it at all costs. If you think so, as yourself if you would prefer a teen boy to read red pill incel websites, knowing he’s absorbing the messages, or to not read at all. Reading is wonderful, but not when it conditions girls and young women to overlook red flags and then they all reinforce it to each other. Reading is powerful, and when it’s causing harm, it’s not good. People like Colleen Hoover make reading dangerous. It’s much better for teens to read Marvin the Martin X Reader fics on Wattpad like my daughter does than to read stuff training them them to accept abuse and to even see it as a sign of love.
@@NoelleTakestheSky I'm so sorry you went through something so awful and your experience makes it so clear how dangerous these books are. There is nothing that can undo the damage caused by these books, especially when young people read them. I'm lucky that I never was exposed to these kinds of books and I haven't had to deal with the aftermath of their influence. When I was a teen the popular books were the Gossip Girl series and Princess Diaries, stuff that was mostly shallow but harmless. Again I'm so sorry that these kind of books made you unaware of the red flags and you suffered such incredible trauma as a result. Thank you for sharing your story and I will be more vocal about the danger of Colleen Hoover's books now. Nothing is worth the irreversible harm caused by real life abusers who are like the men her books idolize. It is sickening. My desire to expose young people to good literature ignores the harm that these books causes. I totally agree that teens should just read fanfiction istead. Most fics are better than her books and don't carry such a dangerous message. I mean there are problematic ones for sure, but Colleen Hoover's mainstream success gives her influence more weight. Like you said, teens obsess over them with their friends and there isn't anyone telling them that those kinds of relationships are abusive and can lead to violence, rape, the worst things imaginable.
This is genuinely one of the funniest videos you’ve ever done I’m crying and I love that you mock bad writing on touchy subjects without being offensive
that son is Elliot Smith! he was the kid on vine who sang "hey! i think you're really cool! I like you a lot! We should... hang out or something." I had no idea he was acting lol
I think it would’ve been way cooler if Adam had been confessing something important to Owen, like wanting to get it out before he died-and then all Owen’s art from then on was based on confessions, due to Adam being his first inspiration. I think that would’ve been like a cool thing to tie the story together, without the stalker implications, and without the general confusingness!

'happy november 9' SHUT UPPPPPPP LMFAOOO
I legit thought to myself this morning, "Wouldn't it be nice is Caleb Joseph uploaded a new video" AND NOW HE HAS 😱
Exactly my thoughts at work when I had to write down the date
The concept of an artist taking all these anonymous confessions and using them as art inspiration could be really really cool but alas, it was not meant to be
Isn't it "can you mail this to my girlfriend"? I thought it was so clear and I love that Caleb listened to it so many times lol
I love how you paraphrase. “I swear he says ‘I’m evil’ or whatever the frick” “they’re fighting like 👊🤜🤛👊🥊”
How many books has this woman written? I feel like everytime her name shows up on my screen it’s in combination with a new book title that’s apparently best selling that I’ve never heard of. It reminds me of my moms bookshelf with dozens of those horrible Nora Roberts books that all have way to similar covers and names and you can tell it’s the same chewed-through romance everytime.
I'm not even 2 minutes into the video and the dying dude talking about his gf's virginity made me pass away
Rewatched the clip about what the dead BF was humbling about, I think he asked the artist to mail the piece of artwork to his girlfriend.
"Can you mail this to my girlfriend?"
Thats what I think was said- though the idea of him mumbling and saying gibberish is funny lol
to me it sounded like "can you wriggle this to my girlfriend" and i was dying laughing for ages . i can't believe they couldn't do a better take of that
Honestly this is a good example of why piracy is crucial for archiving media in an age where you're nog allowed to own anything and streaming services can just pull anything they have whenever they want
Waited three months for Caleb to upload a video of him yet again roasting Colleen Hoover.... and I am so fucking here for it.
I actually really liked the concept of the confession wall and the artist who paints those confessions, and then everything else went downhill...
Wait, what? Someone adapted a Colleen Hoover book? Why???
They're adapting another one... into a movie 😭😭
unfortunately, they threatened to release a film adaptation of “it ends with us”…😔
25:11 (Re: the boyfriend's line): Personally, I hear "Can you mail this to my girlfriend?", which in ways makes sense as an ask, I guess :D Haven't read the book to say if it's accurate.
Anytime ive seen someone say they like Colleen's books...i question their reading comprehension
I work in audio transcription for a living and I'm PRETTY sure the line is "can you mail this to my girlfriend.' but the fact that I'm not 100% certain says a lot about this show's quality.
When he said “the biggest frickin jumpscare of my life” it switched to one of those Amazon ads that makes working in a warehouse sound like heaven
Not you announcing the biggest jumpscare of your life, me being so ready for it, and youtube jumpscaring me with the loudest ad ever...
The scene of him dancing with the old lady while explaining to Auburn that the narcotics he was arrested for weren’t his is just masterful
FYI: the actress for the MC is the same woman who plays Daphne in Switched at birth, and she has hearing loss in real life, so I think her exaggerated expression is likened to that.
Caleb. New drama just dropped. We need your smack down of the “It Ends With Us” cast drama.
Lmfao not me checking his yt to see if he’s spoken
The dedication to dragging Hoover has me dead 💀
You love to see it
"She needs money for undisclosed main character reasons" swept me UP 😭😭😭
Colleen’s complete obsession with abusive relationships is so disgusting. Every book is filled with sexual assault, abusive relationships and nothing ever happens from the wrong doings. It’s just…accepted
I’m sorry but the scene where the older brother freaks out over the phone ringing is hilarious 💀 (timestamp if any one wants it 18:46)
lukas gage really went from dead baby daddy in a collen hoover tv show to euphoria and white lotus good for him
I think at the end the boyfriend said “can you mail this to my girlfriend?” but like that still barely makes sense 😭😭
I think he was saying "Can you mail this to my girlfriend?" at the end
18:45 that stock horror ambiance sound effect that plays each time she gets a text💀
We all await your take down of CH's latest atrocity.
my only question is how much these actors are being paid
Every time you post i feel like an old friend just hit me up for no other reason but to rant passionately and then dip 😂
9:11 I LOVE that the other girls glass catches on the middle girls cocktail umbrella and just RIPS it out of her drink and NOBODY says anything
24:29 he said "can you mail this to my girlfriend?"
This is genuinely one of the funniest videos you’ve ever done I’m crying and I love that you mock bad writing on touchy subjects without being offensive
Gurl. How can you not make out “Can you MAIL this to my girlfriend?” 😭
that son is Elliot Smith! he was the kid on vine who sang "hey! i think you're really cool! I like you a lot! We should... hang out or something." I had no idea he was acting lol
Its different to the book, in the book auburn is a hairdresser in it and owen and her bond over a kids tent
I was legit watching your videos yesterday and thinking “it’s been a while since Caleb posted, wonder what he’s up to” you read minds dude!
I think it would’ve been way cooler if Adam had been confessing something important to Owen, like wanting to get it out before he died-and then all Owen’s art from then on was based on confessions, due to Adam being his first inspiration. I think that would’ve been like a cool thing to tie the story together, without the stalker implications, and without the general confusingness!
this is literally the only colleen hoover book i read. i never knew that that they made a show.... I wanted to give her a chance back in 2019 and picked this one cause i never heard of it and i HATED it. so i'm not a fan of colleen hoover. the book made me go into a reading slump that i'm still fighting....
I love that we as a collective are so obsessed with calebs coleen hoover videos that immediately after he uploads the view count is crazy high as if we're all just luring in the shadows to wait till he drops something.
COLLEEN HOOVER HAS A SHOW?!?? Also OMG I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU’RE FINALLY BACK!!!!

"Idk HOW your phone's going off, but SOMEONES trying to TALK to you."
19:07 The dumb angry face with it. 😂😂😂
