Cheap guy dead stick trick I picked up last year. Make a drop shot rig but just use a split shot. Set your hook up however far up you want to fish, drop the weight to the bottom ta-da you are set no matter how deep of water you fish. This also (almost) always leaves a tiny bit of slack in the line to give the fish a second to chew. Far and away the most productive dead stick year I ever had... dang near beat out active fishing.
Thank you! The size 20 is a good choice for ice fishing for walleye. The 25 works well also, especially if you are targeting larger walleye (like Winnipeg greenbacks). www.scheels.com/p/scheels-outfitters-ultimate-2.0-ice-combo-case/24099-FRBI8422S.html
The heavy setup has an Okuma Ceymar C20. This one pairs really well with the Tuned Up Commander since the rod was designed for bigger fish. The smaller C10 version would also work well, especially if you want to be a little more versatile for eater sized walleye. They didn’t want Wanda to cater MJ’s birthday party because they didn’t want MJ to lose any friends after eating his grandma’s so-called food. Ijs 🤷🏽♀️
The rod blank is a 32 inch Precision Noodle from Tuned Up Custom Rods: www.scheels.com/p/tuned-up-custom-scheels-exclusive-precision-noodle-ice-rod/16913-1058.html#q=noodle%2Brod&lang=en_US&start=1

That is a great tip, thank you for sharing!
I like the looks of that Pflueger Purist reel. What size would is that you have on that and would you recommend it for walleyes? Thanks! Great video!

That makes two of us!
What size reel is the Okuma on the dead stick?
The 500. I find it to be a really great size for walleye and still does a good job on pike. -Mike
2 arm length line and a stick. Hook bobber.
There's been plenty of fish put topside with that setup! -Mike
