    This is why unions are important. They keep HR in line. And when that doesn't work, they have a lot more ability to take action against the company.

      And even unions are buyist.
      A co worker is being a bitch and i complain to our union and HR and the union rep "suggested" me to keep HR oit of it because since both are part of the union they arw protecting her

      @@LEOS-BIZARRE-RUclips-CHANNEL I'll be honest, I often find it telling when someone says, "so and so is a bitch" and that's the justification for thinking they should rob someone of their livelihood, but before I am too dismissive let's look at this carefully.
      In all actuality you really don't want to share legally sensitive information online in the comments. Anything you leave with someone who is not your attorney loses protections and is no longer confidential. So while I suggest that you shouldn't share any details with me, I am also going to point out that being a bitch isn't illegal on face value. If you think you have a case then go to an attorney who works on contingency and give them a sitrep. That is who needs to hear your story.

      I know several people fired unfairly who were in unions. I know unions who were helping management underpay members of the union.

      @@broco6608 dang, I don't! But I live in Norway, most of our working population is under a union, and strikes are very common!
      So we don't yet have the problems of union busting that the US is trying to export!

    That’s not worst case scenario. The average scenario is worst case scenario because it is so widespread. HR protects the leadership by abusing ethics to support the company line by justifying their actions on the basis that ethics do not matter in a world where everyone else is bad and, everyone else is bad in their minds. Ethics are much rarer than compliance to authority and self-justifications.

    • @Craig-ib7gk
      @Craig-ib7gk Месяц назад +4

      HR is there to ensure they can abuse ethics all they want, so long as they don't break the labor laws while doing it. Ultimately its about making sure, when shit gets nasty, the company isn't liable. That's the reason for go-through-the-motions BS like "code of conduct", "ethics and compliance", training, etc. It isn't there to prevent *anything*; it's CTCA (cover the company ass), there to ensure that, when the lawsuit comes, they have justifiable fallback to proclaim it isn't their fault.

  • @DietherArnd
    @DietherArnd Месяц назад +4

    It does not get complicated. HR is against you and for the company only.

    A HR from a company I worked for protected a supervisor who had written complaints against him, just because he "saved" a division from closing. She said "he might be a Grinch, but he covers his employees". I knew that even if I wrote my complaints, like others before me, it was gonna be ignored. He behaved like a stalker to me and like to ridiculed me in front of people. Until one day, before been a permanent employee, I quit. He begged me to stay, but my decision was set and left. Now I'm working for less, but my mental and physical health are thriving (amen!). Money is needed, but without good health, is just a tough road to keep up and sometimes even impossible

    I used to work for First Data in the 90's. Managers and supervisors were terrified of human resources. If management tried anything sketchy, all you had to say was "Let's get H.R. involved in this.". And suddenly there would no longer be a problem.

  • @Gandhi2241
    @Gandhi2241 Месяц назад +1

    The actual job of an HR is to make sure you're so miserable at work that you're forced to quit by yourself so the company does not need to pay huge fines in lawsuits. The HR is hired specifically to screw you over.

    HR is the corporate business world version of a police department Internal Affairs division, and about as ethical and trustworthy... organize, unionize, and once represented by a CBA, learn to use your Weingarten rights... I've never had to invoke my right to union representation in a disciplinary meeting, but as a trained steward who has never even been called to rep an employee, I know that just being there with a pen and legal pad really does keep HR in line

    Question. I run out delivery route in one of the stops in is inside the airport where I have to get patted down by TSA every now and then. I don't like that I want to touching special in my private parts. Can I request to my employer to switch that one stop or the entire route. And if I don't can I sue for not attending to my request because I don't want The unwanted touching.

    HR’s job is to help the company succeed, and the best way to do that is to help every individual reach their true potential in the company. Like any job, some are good at it and some are not.

    In my experience, HR always supports the higher level colleague; if the individual is a AVP or higher, it is a guarantee of surviving anything, excluding grave illegal and unlawful stuff. HRs never do anything by the law, they run their business under the guise of ethics -- ethics which is created internally and will almost always override the letter of the law.

      Check the labor laws in your state or call the federal labor dept and ask them.
