    I just installed these lights in my 2020 F150 XLT and added the switchback LED. Super happy with them! Pro tip: Test the switchback LED's BEFORE you install them in the light housings. You have a 50/50 chance that you will need to reverse the LED bulb in the connector to make it work. It's a 10-second fix if you haven't put the housings back on the truck. If you have, you now have a vocabulary expansion project and another 15 minutes of work.

    You never need resistors. With FORSCan and a OBD adapter you can program it the hyper flash out.

      While you certainly can use FORSCan, most people do not have the ability to use it.

    If you're planning to install these yourself you should read this review since I already went through it. First off I'm very pleased with the headlights the DRLs are crisp and the brightness of low and high beams are a significant upgrade. Morimoto is top notch quality and with the 5 year warranty you get what you pay for. As far as the installatiRead more about review stating Better than OEM, installation video misleading for 2020on, the video was misleading in some aspects. I have a 2020 F-150 Lariat and do NOT try to remove the fender flares the way it shows in the video. the clips are made differently and if you attempt to take it off like the video you'll break the clips. I broke one of mine until I realized the clips were positioned different on my truck compared to the video. The fender flares need to be pulled up and out they don't just pry off with ease like in the video. Second, when removing the grill the video fails to mention that there are 2 additional bolts underneath the grill, one on each side. I was wondering why it was so difficult to get the grill to come off until I realized there are 2 more bolts. Again these are differences that are for the 2020 F-150s. I'm unsure what year they started to make these slightly different manufacturing changes. Maybe the 2018-2020 trucks. When it came down to replacing the blinker bulbs is where I ran into most trouble. I bought the exact GTR lighting LED blinker bulbs shown in the installation video because I was not planning to spend $900 on new LED headlights to have halogen blinker bulbs. During the installation process I found out the stock blinker bulb housing would not fit in the morimotos socket as shown in the video. Furthermore the blinker bulb housing that came with the morimotos did not fit with the GTR LED bulbs. After reading some forums online, apparently if you have red rubber seals on your stock housings it has 3 plastic secure tabs and if you have blue seals on the stock housing it has 4 secure tabs. The stock housing with 4 tabs is the one that fits inside the morimotos. My truck of course had the red seal with 3 tabs. I had the front end of the truck apart and I couldn't afford to wait for the right parts to come in so I had to improvise. If you're handy with a dremel you could easily shave off part of the socket where the housing clicks into. I measured it by eye where the tabs would sit and it ended up clicking in place. I also tend to overengineer things so I put a little bead of all weather silicone to keep the housing from popping out of the socket just in case. Let it set for couple hours and it was pretty secure. Basically if you want the LED blinkers make sure you have the correct blinker bulb housings. I also used a dremel to make a notch on the fuse box cover and a notch on the fuse box itself. I find that if you don't make a little notch, the wire that runs to the DRLs gets pinched too much. Overall I made everything work and it all looks great. The installation was fairly easy for the average person that does any other car maintenance. Very happy with the LEDs the visibility at night is way better than stock halogens and the appearance just looks more sharp. In the dark the headlights look similar to the older raptor style which I like. I also don't know the hype with the switchback LED blinker bulbs. The amber LEDs compliments the white low and high beam nicely and looks better. Headlight Revolution should make an updated video and be specific with parts when purchasing headlights for 2020 trucks. Figured it all out during the installation which is why I wrote this in depth review. Hope this helps.

    Caution! Getting the trim piece out from under the headlights on a 2020 does not use this method! Only one screw in each wheel well. The fender flare is attached to the trim piece in two spots with clips that impossible to remove by pulling as shown in this video. They will break if you pry on the flare. I believe the whole flare needs to be removed to separate the under headlight trim from the flare. Then, you can decouple the flare from the trim piece.

      @@HeadlightRevolution Figured it out. The socket that comes with these headlights does NOT fit that bulb. I had to reuse the socket from my old housing (which I now realize is what you show in the video), but I have a 2018. A few people w/ 2019/2020 say their OEM socket doesn't fit that new housing. Also I really agree with other comments on here you should update both Morimoto videos for the two 8mm bolts at the bottom of the grill. Took me awhile to find those and figure out why my grill wasn't coming out as easily as in the video. Otherwise, great walkthrough of the process. My install went relatively smoothly.

      @@ak-zw8jv I have a '19 and my OEM socket wouldn't fit the new housing. My OEM socket has 3 tabs, while the new housing has 4 tab openings. Luckily I had bought the recommended GTR amber bulbs and it fit in the new socket, and then of course fit well in the new housing. I did have a brief moment of panic however, as I thought I had taken everything apart for nothing lol.

I installed aftermarket ANZO tail lights at the same time that I installed my headlights. I noticed in the instructions on Morimoto's website that it states that if the vehicle is equipped with anything besides OEM tail lights(full assemblies, LED bulbs, etc.) that the resistors can cause an impedance problem with the OEM settings and that this is not a fault of the headlights. Do these turn signals turn white when the signal goes off?

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  4 года назад

      It depends on what bulb you go with for the turn signals. Since these are the Hybrid headlights, they come with incandescent bulbs that will only be amber. You can upgrade to the GTR Lighting Carbide 2.0 switch back bulbs, which will run white and then flash amber though!

      Headlight Revolution ok thanks. Does the low beam come on during the day on these? My factory 2020 halogens the low beam is the running light. I would prefer if it was just the led ring on these. Regardless I will be ordering a set when there in stock

      The low beams will turn on with the DRL, yes. But you can disable the DRL's in the trucks settings so that doesn't happen.

      I just installed these today the oem sockets still don't fit. I had to purchase 7444na bulbs to install into morimotos... They don't fit to loose, had to try to bend to connectors for more snug fit and super glue (rigged it up) to work. but just found out to can purchase 9E5Z-13411 B sockets and they will fit perfectly. So just in case you haven't purchased our deciding too.

    Just did the install yesterday on my '19 F-150. Thanks for the instructional video, it definitely helped. All went well, just had a little trouble getting the grill out at first, but it wasn't too bad. Went with the recommended LED turn signal bulbs (GTR) and they do look quite awesome. I ended up making a small notch in the fuse box to run the fuse tap wire through.
    I actually made a quick time lapse of my install just for the heck of it. ruclips.net/video/vcNfszwhJRY/видео.html
