- Is this game called No Man's Sky worth it to play now? Are the bugs/glitches gone? How's the game now with all the recent updates like Aquarius, or the Cursed expedition? Should you play No Man's Sky in 2024 or 2025? You'll find out in this game review.
What do you think?
I think many people missed this in the comment section.
Sit down on that plant you are on.
Look up in the sky on planet.
For the galaxy you are in.
Every star you see in that sky is a possible system you can visit.
There are 18 qaudrillion systems in the Euclid galaxy.
Now let that sadness & happiness overwhelm your thoughts & soul.
That you or your generations off spring to come will never truly fully explaore that galaxy in their life.
For me, this is not a game where i find the biggest action or the most intressting quests. Its like endless World where what ever you do or feel like doing is up to you. Its like a detox from all the sweaty games, like COD, CS, Valorant etc. Just calms my Mind.
Can totally agree
Id rather play those games ngl. None of my friends find games like this fun or interesting. And tbh it’s boring as hell. Why fish on an empty planet when i can be on discord with my friends farming clips?
Disappointment of Starfield led me to NMS which languished in my steam library barely touched. Have like 300 hours in it now.
Awesome game right?
This game is better than almost every game that came out last 2 years, after 8 years
It has sorta been in development for over a decade (released 2016, but development never stopped), so it's not surprising it's as good as it is. It's just rare for companies to keep going like they have and release all new content for free.
Amazing game! I got it in the summer and I always do the expeditions. Love the voyage it sends you on. I see a lot of people try and speedrun through and i dont get it. Like just enjoy the time, you get over two weeks usually. I have everything i need in my main save now but always do the expeditions with no transferred items, for the challenge. Just finished the Aquarius one which was awesome, my favourite one so far. Kinda felt sad for 'the angler'..no spoilers. It's so good for my anxiety too. I agree with the combat. Would love to see them improve it. I got the game second hand for about £10. Amazing value considering how old it is and I swear they keep improving the graphics even on the last gen consoles. I keep finding new details. You can really tell Hello games wanted to give back what the fans expected, and they've really gone above and beyond.. I would go as far to say this is my favourite game for replay value as I'm always adding new things to build my base and after 300+ hours I return to the game most days.
To me this feels like a game that is intentionally feeling like real life but with a future take on it. It's about you finding your own path un the endless universe
Really cool review I think I will retry the game again... I might finally like it
and?
I’m returning to this game today, it’s just something about this game that always keeps me interested
how was it
Well the world's part 2 update just dropped. So it's definitely a YES you should play now!
It’s looking great!
Its a chill game just started not even 12 hrs in just here to vibe
Cross save is not there yet, still waiting here. It's in beta and it's been full since day one.
I bought this game when it launched...
Now, I'm waiting for my psvr1 version that I ordered from Amazon...
But its also made for PS5 ....
So I'm ready to play in vr
Yes it's awesome
Is this game basically just a chill game to explore and do whatever I want like there’s no pathway if it is I’m down for it because games are too sweaty sometimes it’s good to relax
100% yes.
My friend has been discouraging it based on his experience 8 years ago. I think I'll try it though. Me man.
This is the new "anyone can play their way 'minecraft-like' game" of 2024.
Hopefully Light No Fire will be the same.
I played this alot before the recent updates, like 2020, and recently just got back I've been hooked. I just wish my buddies would get back. i have no one to play this with or give me tips. It's alright, though. I'm still having fun
I played with friends too, but mostly doing our own thing within the same game 😂
This game was so fun for me. Then I hit a wall. How many more lifeless planets can I explore? I can't believe how much was into this now I have no interest
Short answer!! Yes
I got NMS as a gift, so $0, 8 years ago and have over 4000hrs in it now. Does it have value?
A little expensive for the time played I must say
@reallythateasy but that's where NMS shines. You can keep coming back and you'll never pay anything else.
yes, yes and yes!
Is there ship combat in space?
Yes
I just tought about playing this one 😊
You really should!
I love how this guy keeps mentioning other games that NMS reminds him of, as if he is slowly and independently realizing that survival crafters are a whole-ass genre of games
I have tried on three different occasions to play and enjoy this game…it’s boring
Gods thank you. Had a neighbor obsessed with it on release, I let them buy it for my platform and died watching. Entropy and all .... Then now my roommate and his girlfriend are obsessed and I still can't get interested. I mostly just tool around in a freighter (got lucky a class of the type I wanted Early on) and I think the living ships are ugly as butt and they remove several parts of the game. They also all basically function the same now with some getting a boost to how often you warp. It's miserable and I decided last night to see if I was missing something by poking around some videos like this.
@@anierikidemona I explore every planet and scan the creatures, plants and minerals in the sky, on land, in caves and in the seas. Since I bought scanner upgrades this gives me 50-150k per item. Doing this I've seen many many weird new types of planet and creature. I keep thinking I've seen them all and then the next one is even weirder. I found one with such violent fire storms I had to use my mech just to survive a few minutes. Found another with so much water I built a submarine and found some crazy screaming creature deep in the abyss that hunted me for ages. I've only played about 80 hours but I don't see any signs of running out of content yet. I guess I'm just curious to see weird new things.
Game is fire you just can't comprehend a sandbox. Exploring physics in the game is at least 50 hours.
That's fair. Usually trying to get black market upgrades or puttering around in my vehicles is what I do. (Kinda find the submarine touchy so I just have 3 of the spare lung mods on for anything that's not stupid deep) But I kinda feel like it's easy to plateau on that stuff fast and I guess scanning creatures doesn't hold me very long because I also tend to be system hopping right behind my roommate or friend while they are living ship hunting and stuff. So I kinda just get the tourist peek at most places.
@@anierikidemona every time I play I see a new kind of planet or something on a planet that has me go "what is THAT thing!?" Tonight I found a ship that looked kinda cool so I bought it and then when I took off it unfolded solar sails and that was awesome! But maybe I'll run out of new things and get bored, I'll see! I also fought 4 waves of sentinels in my mech before having to run away so that was fun. Got some unknown tech that I'll probably need for upgrades someday.
short answer, YES you should, not action oriented but if you feel like wanted to go space adventure in wide ocean of galaxies then this is for you.
Have no choice ,it is 2024...😉
I don't really like the way this guy has explained it. So I'm gonna write my opinion: the base game play loop of NMS hasn't changed. That loop being exploring, mining for matterals, finding loot, and usining it to upgrade your things. Yes, the game is alot more playable and there is alot of cool stuff that has been added. It is very much still a "make your own fun game" and if you didn't like that 7 years ago you won't like it now. Hello games has added a myriad of things for you to make, see and do so if you found the game daunting and overwhelming before it will be more. Yes there is a story, but it's you can ignore it if you want so the game is exreamly open ended like it was in the beginning. This is coming from someone who played a bit a launch, abit in 2020 and a bit now.
I feel like I should’ve added this, it’s indeed a “make your own fun” kind of game, and they did try to change it, but not yet succeeded, so if you can find your way of playing it and you enjoy it there is alot of enjoyement to be had, but if you need guidance you aren’t going to find it
462 hours, haven't played since July. I tried to come back today because I loved the game. I think the end of this game is mental. 😢
Is this game have something like space wars ?
I've been playing it recently and it's pretty good, but it definitely feels janky and like the whole game is being held together by duct tape. Lots of counter intuitive decisions that technically work, but you'll have to look up tutorials on how to assemble things when you have 100% of the components in your inventory, but they aren't on the right sunscreen or something.
What are you talking about
(Only 1 minute in to the video!) But what I felt dissapointed over was that there was no way you and your friends could be on the same ship.. Always solo, always in the cockpit.. That made me uninstall..
Played it for the first time recently when they had a big sale. Found it boring. Refunded before the 2 hour limit.
It’s not for everyone! But I had a similar experience the first time
"you get upgrades so you can get the next upgrade" my entire problem with this game, no purpose and meaningless progression
Beetje laat in het feestje maat. Je had je beter op nederlandse fans kunnen richten ipv Engelstalig. Meer een niche. Meer actueel allicht? Wens je het beste though.
I can't stand this game. Got it about 4 months ago, played it a lot and gave it a break. Jumped back for the Expedition and boy oh boy, I forgot all the recipes. Started the Expedition without the basic materials, and for killed over and over by super annoying creatures. Overall the game loop is simply not fun, even after all the patches and everything. You die and you must retrieve all your stuff. If you die underwater or by any hazard, all the materials need to counter the effects are lost.
The whole building system is lackluster, and the combat really sucks as well. The ships are pretty cool, though. But the game itself is pretty pointless. It's beautiful, yeah, but it gets repetitive after a while.
I'm selling my PS5 disc.
It's a space exploration game?
I tired No Man's Sky recently and I just couldn't really get into it. In the couple hours I've played it, the game seems to be just a walking and crafting simulator.
It's difficult to be invested in this game when that's about 60% of experience you get, and not to mention there's no dialog which didn't make my experience any better. In fact it felt hollow, disconnected and repetitive since your suit says the same warnings over and over.
Overall this game is a waste of time, and it may be better than the 2014 release, but at the end of the day it's still a walking and crafting simulator with little to no depth.
my only problem is this, yes the updates are cool and add cool things, but almost none have improved the basic problems nor have they changed the gameplay loop to be more fun, biggest issue with this game for me is purpose, there is no point in making bases at all, there's no point in making vehicles at all, there's no point in a lot of shit, they need to actually improve the gameplay LOOP and then i think i might be able to enjoy it again.
I feel like that’s just part of the type of game it is. It’s a sandbox game, the point is to make your own fun.
@ you’re completely right, I just don’t enjoy this games gameplay loop specifically, other sandboxes I enjoy way more like Minecraft or satisfactory, the difference is I still play those games to this day and still put hundreds of hours, whereas after playing no man’s sky when it first came out for like 100 hours, I haven’t enjoyed playing it again, the things they keep adding feel like extras and they aren’t adding anything important, it’s like how the nether update changed Minecraft at a base level whereas the archeology update doesn’t improve the base experience at all, you can just ignore that, no man’s sky needs updates that improve the base gameplay loop like updates around travel and movement and planetary vehicles and planting and building, not spaceship colors or capes
Exactly. You make the bases and ships for your own entertainment. Some people are happy doing that.
@ I’m not, and my enjoyment of a game isn’t based on what others enjoy, it’s based on what I enjoy, hence the complaint
If you like it great
