Bauer 3X Goalie Gear Review - Pro Features at Half the Price

- Опубликовано: 19 окт 2024
- A close up look at all the features of Bauer's second pricepoint 3X gear for goaltenders. With plenty of pro-level features this gear comes in at a fantastic price. Our testing of the 2X line showed this price can still deliver gear that will stand up to the rigors of a AAA season - and perform.

What a wonderful time for goalie gear history
You guys convinced me to try it. Ordered a set after watching this video!
awesome - hope you love them - let us know when they arrive!
Do you like em? i want to get them but i've heard negative stuff about em.
When the border opens up between the USA and Canada I hope to make a trip The Hockey Shop just so I can see that beautiful wall of blockers and gloves . Great review
U should see wesco in Connecticut it’s insane
I have 1x pads and i was looking for 2x to upgrade but they are hard to find brand new now so these are my new go to for new pads for next season
I have the 2x everything, absolutely love it!
Same, however, the knee stack has proven to be unstabled.
what leval do you play?
@@ssdgoalie yeah, had some problems once they were broken in on landing
I just got these 3X's and new Vaughn V9's these feel great!
My son is in U16AAA using all Hyperlite and had a issue with the glove getting bad stingers to the point I ordered a lizard skin glove from the hockey shop. But after reaching out to Bauer they are replacing the glove at no charge. Good line and warranty. Also the lizard skin glove did stop the stingers while waiting for the replacement.
A shot broke my knuckle through a gsx glove, what do you think. Could I get something free?
🤔 I remember when Bauer was actually Cooper!
I think 80% of the goalies are in the 2nd tier stuff. From what I see.
Yep. I only have the essentials in pro. For leg pads definitely go mid range. It just makes more sense with how gear is made now
I just saw the description elsewhere, and unless I'm mistaken, this pad still had CORTECH on the sliding edge?!?
Just picked up the 3X pad, was really impressed in store
awesome - let us know how you like them on the ice - enjoy!
@@InGoalMedia so .... night and day from my 2012 p4's. I'm still adjusting to the style change / stiffness but so happy w/ my purchase .... my main question .... what is the official name of the 'professor strap' for Bauer. I'm having a hard time finding it.
"Tune Fit Connect strap" a bit more on it in our Ultrasonic Review:

Great review. Getting some tomorrow
awesome - let us know how you like them!
Mach 5 or 3X... I keep checking on line and there's no stock though.
Would love a set of these.
I’ve noticed that on a lot of listings online for the 3x senior catcher, it claimed it has a game ready pro palm. Is this correct? If not, what is the protection like in the palm? Obviously not expecting Poron.
Do these fit similarly to the 2x Pros? I'm 6'1 and I'm wearing large 2x Pros now, but I feel like I slip forward off the knee landing pad because they're too short, and that I should actually be in an X-Large.
just order the catcher cant wait for it to come in!
let us know how you like it!
I have the 3X, they are great!
yeah how’s the glove
THanks Felix. We'd love to hear your thoughts!
How do you find the slide? My son's in the Vaughn Velocity with the quick slide material. We're now looking at Bauer, as he already needs a new pair, and not sure about the slide as we can't test that in the store. I've been told that full CORTECH Bauer's tend to be better sliding than even the quick slide material.
I just got the glove and blocker Bauer should pay you guys for this type of stuff
How is it? I wanna get it
Do you think these would hold up at an ACHA D1 level?
While we haven't tested them...yes. We have a 2X set with two fulls seasons of AAA hockey and plenty of junior A practices in them and are still going strong. Have a tester planning on taking 3X to WHL.
My son demoed a set of 3x intermediates. He hated the balance plate. It should be Velcro like the 3s line.
Got my 3x glove a couple months ago and to be honest I'm not loving it. I went up from intermediate to senior although it seemed great at first and I am making good saves, everything just pops right out because I can't get a good close on the glove. There's still a pretty sizable gap and the bump at the very bottom of the palm stops me from closing it fully. Not sure if it's just this glove but not a fan. Hopefully it gets better as it gets more broken in but after working and wearing it almost every day it's definitly hit a plateu.
Is it true you should bump up a pad size with the new Bauer hyperlite line? As the boot sits at an 100 degree angle. I’ve always worn 34+2 with an (outside) ATK of 18
Hi there,
Really appreciate the honest feedback back.I have a son who is 12 playing AA and trying out for AAA(second year Pee wee). His last set of pads were the ccm P 2.9 which he liked. When he tried on the Axis, he did not like the line for himself( something to do with the boot ) He has narrowed his choices down to the Bauer 3x and the ccm e-flex 5. I do feel he is leaning towards the Bauer. Any feedback would be greatly appreciate. A concern I had was the durability of both of his selections .In the past I had learned that Bauer pads often had issue with durability and longevity. Also the same applied to previous e flex pads. Is that still an issue? His style Of play is probably hybrid, but leans a bit toward a butterfly style. He is still developing. Any feed back between the 2 contending pads would be very helpful. Thanks so much

We'd say try both and see what feels right...both excellent choices...previous Bauer issues seem to be a non-issue now for us - our demo sets have literally hundreds of high-level skates in them with no issues. No CCM concerns for durability as well with our sets.
Thanks so much
He has tried on both and is still torn as the direction he wants to go.
i’m about 5”11 atm at 16 yo, just ordered the 3x pads, in medium coming up from a 33+1 ccm eflex, worried the pads will be too small or i grow out of them? thanks!
Really best if you call Cam at the Shop to discuss - he's happy to chat!
Will I fit into a small pad in the 3X if I fit into a small on on the Supreme 3S line even though this seems to have a softer boot?
Good Q....the two will also have a different boot angle and how you strap them, can also affect how they sit on your leg. I don't see it being a whole size difference but that might also depend on how you have them now - a bit on the large side? A bit on the small side? You could definitely call Cam and sort out some of the details and ideally, get a chance to try them on of course.
@@InGoalMedia Ended up just buying it lol, fit perfectly. Is it possible to just get the glove custom without ordering the whole set?
@@xs8002 Love it. Should be able to yes...as always, call Cam!! :)
@@InGoalMedia What are your hours?
@@xs8002 I assume you mean the hockey shop? www.thehockeyshop.com/pages/contact-us
