It's nice seeing your daughter is helping with your car review. Hope to see both of you in front of the camera in the future, like Richard Hammond and her daughter.
I like your way of presenting a car review versus others. They always mention 0 to hundred, how much power, etc... What matters to a daily driver most, are found here.
@@BobbyAngmalaysia I am currently looking for a decent SUV that is cost effective. I didn't like the interior and exterior of jaecoo 7. I thought Omoha c9 was way nicer, but i agreed with you there was not enough room at the trunk. Omoha c9 is an urban car. I did enjoy driving it around though. Maybe you have better recommendation for me before I really pull the trigger on this Omoha c9.
@reefgalaxy986 i totally think for the price of the car, this is an absolute bargain for the kind of refinement and interior appointment. it feels like a rm400k car
Great review! I think the Malaysian tuning for the car may be different from the South African tuming because I have thoroughly tested the germans you mentioned (i.e X3, Q5) and the drive is very similar, especially the suspension when its set on mid. The 3 different settings for the suspension also make the car feel very different. Those Germans, yes they drive better but not R400k or R600k better. I agree with everything else you said though
kesian the little girl got to hold camera under the rain, but nonetheless very good job little girl! I own a Harrier turbo and I am very impressed with this Omoda C9, might consider one maybe later when we have more on the road to understand on their reliability.
@@rendezvous4577 comfortable, reliable, good NVH and pretty powerful. Not good at cornering due to the soft suspension setup. Pretty much what one would expect from a Harrier....

Hi Bobby, the c9 that you reviewed and test drive, is it CBU or CKD locally assembled unit? Do you expect the standard of CKD C9 (Malaysia)'s built quality be on par with CBU ? Unless it is a CKD unit, then please ignore my question
Im surprise when you mentioned engine noise and tire noise but not wind noise. Perhaps sound deadening can be installed on wheel wells and engine bonnet or change tires.
What if we go nearby to the car but not intention to open or go inside the car maybe just going around or doing some stuff besides the car still the door will unlock?
I haven't driven the Sealion as yet. But that's an EV right? And based on track record, BYD's suspension pliancy and handling is top notch. Styling wise I already prefer the Omodo C9 both exterior and interior.
Hi bobby , i currently own a 2022 Mazda Cx5 2.5 and im planning to trade in for a omoda c9……but to me the cx5 handles very well for a suv and its nice for a spirited driving …is the omoda c9 handling similar to a cx5 or better?
@@NIRUMAL93 In terms of feel, the Omodo C9 is very similar to CX9. Hefty, heavy, planted, huge. The CX5 is more agile, just like the J7 is more agile. But in terms of interior, specs etc, it certainly feels like an upgrade from CX5. Even the J7 feels like an upgrade. But suspension, drivetrain pairing of engine and gearbox, very few cars beat Mazdas
I think what I said was the LCD screen display dynamically change the layout of information based on the steering angle adjustments and seat height adjustments
I don't think it can deal serious off-road. But if you mod AT tyres would've been a huge improvement. Clearance wise ... If you mod ... Hahaha very few urban SUV can do serious off-road with stock cars, not even Cayenne
Yeah man this is the second car equipped with Aisin 8 speed TC but behaviour like DCT in certain situations. I cannot assume shifting smoothness to tell what gearbox it's equipped with already. Thanks for pointing out
The whole car feels like those rm400k SUV, but driving wise cannot compete in terms of suspension, engine pairing etc. so you treat it as the money you spent is on the design, sound proofing (engine loud tho) and interior touch points etc. not for the drive, a bit like modern Mercedes Benz where engine pairing with transmission and suspension tuning is weak compared to BMW Audi
@@BobbyAngmalaysia My exact sentiment when I test drove it. I surprisingly enjoyed driving the J7 more, the engine sound somehow not so loud/rough, not sure if the C9 test car I drove had issues but even the J7 engine had less vibration when idle.
Test drove this car couple weeks back .. packed with features but it drives like a boat... So those who love value for money but couldn't care less how it drives, then it's the car for you.. btw, the test drive car has some broken plastic panels covered with cello tape
@@BobbyAngmalaysia My car is almost seven years old and it still drives like a new one. How about reliability 😅 ... i can afford 200k cars but if its keep on give me problems after 4 years daam it will be burden ... normal maintenance will be fine but let say after 4 years keep break down need to pop up 10k 15k every time daaam 😅
It’s like when people talk bout Seiko comparing to Omega and Rolex. Was it a fake rolex even both had a lot of similarities in their high end watches? No. They just had a different target audience. And see where is Seiko now after all the years, how many quality products is out there using seiko parts. Brand isnt everything, and it definitely doesn’t equate to value. Brands now focus too much on exclusivity than quality. Therefore jaecoo, it’s not a rip off, it’s their own take of high-end luxury feel, may share some parts from other brand but doesn’t mean they are a rip off, just because the brand came from China. It is too early to say much bout the lifespan on this specific model, but build quality wise is definitely mind blowing.

Bobby, I love your summary in the last minute of the video! Indeed, your comprehensive review is a must watch for the potential buyers

Yes, totally agree. For that price (starts at cheaper than Mazda 3) what can one complain?

Bobby Top Tips
I'm okay with fakes, as long as they are as good quality as the kislux and match the price I paid, I have no complaints.
Hi, Bobby. How is C9 fuel consumption
Not great, no pure ICE Chinese cars are good in this because all the best patents owned by German and Japanese car makers
Why interior like merc bcz this car interior designer is from merc

i watch to learn from other ppl pov :)
How it compare to 408GT
Feels much much more luxurious, both had jerky transmission pairing, but the 408GT suspension and handling far far far more accomplished than this
