My Heart goes out to you both. I am dealing with the same medical situation with my 92yo MIL and 95yo FIL. Debating who moves in with us and who goes to a facility and if we should separate them in the first place. So yes I feel your anguish. As for Costuming, I certainly hope you are able to use the outlet and keep your brain refreshed and happy on dopamine. Blessing upon you, I await your future greatness!
