@Hyperen basically it means that the train is to take a diverging route with a lower line speed and that it must proceed under the double/single yellow aspect up to the junction. Upon reaching the junction (at a reduced speed), the train will approach a single steady yellow and should proceed as normal - Basically it's an extra warning if you like. The divergence in this case is one of the outer platforms at Birmingham International which peels off the mainline and converges back after leaving.
This is a very interesting video for me. My father took a whole reel of 8mm movie at that same platform in 1972. I remember seeing that old film a lot as a kid, thinking how marvelous and exotic British trains were.
No Probs very narrow Platform when i went there before there wasn't much room behind the yellow line. Will be down there in Oct so might do some filming

They are to indicate that the train is coming to a junction where it will join another line at speed.

if u go out the sta,turn left and left again,theres a foot bridge over the line and a path alongside the line also(good for filming)
nice, somehow those Pendolinos on the far side didn't seem fast enough!
The 67 in the video worked the W&S diversion from Wrexham to Marylebone
@HSTChris The Flashing Signal is an approach controlles signal.
