Mark Kelly is an astronaut. Astronauts aren’t boring.
Cenk is absurd to compare Tim Kaine to Mark Kelly. Tim Kaine was not a US Navy fighter pilot Tim Kaine was not a space shuttle astronaut. Tim Kaine did not have a compelling story of his wife surviving a shooting and setting a new profile in courage.

Kelly is a former astronaut, navy fighter pilot, the husband of a beloved congresswoman, senator from a swing state…yeah he’s super boring and vanilla 😒. Cenk couldn’t be more wrong about this one. Kelly is not my first choice for VP, but I wouldn’t be upset either if Harris decided to go with him.
Don’t forget all the qualifications that he has too. He’s very intelligent.
Apparently he’s got a B.S. degree in marine engineering and nautical science from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and later an M.S. degree in aeronautical engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School.
He's kind of boring when you hear him talking. But the astronaut thing is cool as hell though. And Arizona is more of a swing state than Virginia was in 2016. I still prefer Shapiro because Pennsylvania is more important than Arizona.

Out of these, I would narrow it down to Tim Walz, Andy Beshear, and Roy Cooper. My favorite one out of these three is Tim Walz. Whoever she picks, I'm sure she will pick who would be the best for this Country. She knows better than I do.
The best choice if you are progressive and also want political advantage is Andy Bashaer. He has a real economic populist vision and is someone who genuinely has values and doesn't back down from Republicans. He did all while running in Kentucky. No, Shapiro and Kelly are just political moderate figures who are mostly just cultural progressives, which.. so is Kamala.
But he's not popular with the entire country. Mark is well known and a beloved Hero.

It is also Arizona state law that senate vacancies must go to the party of the person who left office or died in office. That would be the Democrats.

Astronaut.
Fighter pilot.
Combat veteran.
He stood by his disabled wife showing strong character.
Senior military officer so he is both a demonstrated leader but also can code switch to follower when necessary to support Kamala.
He also has a great sense of humor that will sync well with Kamala’s whimsy and not make her seem like the “less serious” of the two.
He is also demographically comforting to people that have both conscious and unconscious biases.
These biases matter in elections. Otherwise it would not have taken almost two hundred years to elect a catholic, more than 230 to elect a black man. And still have never elected a woman. Asian man or woman. An atheist, a Hispanic, a Jew, a Muslim…
Elections are decided by small margins and people are tribal and mistrustful of people “different” from them.
Mark Kelly balances the tickets by looking like an ordinary white man. He looks like pretty much every bald middle age white guy.
That is the “boring Tim Kaine” aspect that Cenk was talking about.

Added to this he runs for senator of Arizona and wins it against all expectations something the Dems haven't done since the 1960's, then widens his margin in the mid terms.

Kelly is a very solid calm guy who actually speaks very well on issues important to him like gun control and climate change.

I actually liked Tim Waltz. If you look at his record, with a one-seat majority, the Democrats in Minnesota have managed to pass free school lunch, non-competes and paid sick time. And those are just three of the things that they have managed to pass with one seat majority. I think that with his background from a small town, military background, as a teacher, as a union member and now as a governor who has effectively governed he would be an outstanding choice.

Oxford English Dictionary has it listed as an adjective (modified noun) first used in the 17th century. You may want to delete your post.

I absolutely can not get behind Shapiro because of his position with the student protesters and extreme pro Israel stance. I do like Tim Walz who has actually done a lot of good things in Minnesota and is a good counter balance to Harris (and is extremely pro-union / worker)

Those student protestors were burning the flag. That’s not appropriate at all. Mark Kelly said worse about them.
If we want to win this election, the only logical choice would be Shapiro. He is well liked in Pennsylvania.

This asshole wanted to lock up and expel Jewish and non Jewish student protesters for protesting genocide. If that is what Democrats think it takes to win, the Democratic ticket is no better than Trump.

And the Supreme Court ruled that that was free speech, not a crime. I never said Mark Kelly was that good either, but at least he was not out there calling to lock up student protesters and expel them.
