Get real mate. Hawaiians never could eyeball measure a wave properly, not even now. 5' is 5', 10' is 10', and 20' is 20', is now, always has been. Aussies were doing pretty well in Hawaii during the 70s and beyond. Measure waves however you like but Aussies, Brazilian, etc still do alright.
