    As a Mexican living in Taipei I can only dream of this amazing and joyful activity, I had an experience back in Texas but since then (about 9 years ago) I haven't been able to hunt. I loved the experience of getting my own food and live a breathtaking scenery of the ranch I had the pleasure to hunt in. I love your videos Mr. Keith and I'm a long-time follower. Greetings from Taipei

    I hunt wild pigs here in Australia with both rem 700's in .308 and .300win mag and day compared to night with animals activity is such a big difference. I use spot light desinged for night time hunting in me and my rifles.

    Great production, as always. You always teach us, Keith. That is great. One tiny thing: when you were talking with the Pulsar guy, as he was listing the benefits and features of the scope, those CD's that were hanging above and to his left. They looked to me like bullet points, where you were going to chiron in the things the Pulsar guy was talking about. It jarred me. That's all.
    Oh, and I must put in a plug for your voice-over announcer. He is really good!

    Got to love these places.... over priced and charge extra trouphy fee's to hunt a species of animal that is a problem across most of the country. And pretty much not helping to much to solve the problem. Just taking advantage of it to make money. Do people pay it? They most certainly do.
    Farmers complain about hogs ruining crops. But just like so many others. They want to overcharge people to come and help lower the numbers. Should they charge at all? I think they should. Simply because people they let onto the property could trash up the area or damn fencing etc. And it cost money to fix and pay hands to clean up a mess. So by charging they can offset that possible cost. However, it shouldnt be almost $500 and a so called trouphy fee for a certain size hog.
    Pretty sure there is going to be some people commenting about my negative comment. And that is perfectly fine. It wont change my thoughts on the subject at all. I am a hog hunter. I dont pay these crazy prices to hunt them.
    Save your money, talk to people and hunt their land to help the land owner out without a fee. You can even trade labor for land access or find and lease property, even use type 2. Granger State Park is a great place for bowhunting hogs. The money you save can go towards gear. And you get more time and animals then a 3 day hunt. You can finally own that $600 air rifle. Although a pretty decent AR is around the same price. These overpriced 3 date hunts are for people with money to waste. Sorry to point out the obvious. However, this is what type of stuff that discourages low income hunters. I dont feel sorry for any land owners complaining about a hog problem that is trying to get rich from it at the same time.

      Laby 70 you’re right. Keith charges like 5,000 for an 8 point on his ranch and a cull buck on his ranch is like 2500. It’s ridiculous

    • @dave-oh3549
      @dave-oh3549 6 лет назад +3

      Couldn't agree more. Here in Oklahoma, pigs are EVERYWHERE with no bag limits. It is ridiculous the guy even has the audacity to charge what he does. Come on any public land in Oklahoma and with some effort and persistence (this is required because pigs on public hand are use to hunting pressure), you're bound to find some pigs to shoot.

    Dear Keith , I have a Hatsan Striker .25 cal. w/the vortex gas piston ,shoots a 31 grain pellet at 697fps average and 38 fpe at 35 yards . I'm also using a 3x12x50mm dusk to dawn Bushnell scope . never been hog hunting with it yet . What do you think about this set up & have you heard of hatsan air rifles?

    • @HighRoadHunting
      @HighRoadHunting  7 лет назад +1

      I don't have any experience with them, but that sounds like a good set up. As I'm sure you know, shot placement is critical with an air rifle.

    • @watchdoggibson
      @watchdoggibson 7 лет назад

      of course s/p is all ways critical . I know your set up with gammo, but I.d like you to try the hatsan striker vortex 1000s .25 cal. you'll be impressed .

      Have you chronied your rifle. Those numbers are off. My Striker is maybe 650 FPS with a 19 grain pellet. My Hatsan mod 25 is way more powerful shooting that 31 grain pellet for 28 or 29 ft lbs through the chrony. Way better options out there to use on a hog.

    • @xxARAtaixx
      @xxARAtaixx 7 лет назад

      The numbers are DEFINITELY off. No current production springer/gas ram is putting out 38ftlb. The most powerful ones such as Hatsan 125 and 135 series put out maximum 30ftlbs. The only springer/gas ram that ever put out 38ftlbs was Theoban Double Magnum.
      Chrony your rifle and you'll see it's putting out about 22ftlbs at best.

    The slow motion when the first hog was shot was too cool. If you kill the mama hog, do the little hoglets die, or do they not need the mama? Them things are awful little creatures.
