We haven't seen Jill since Resident Evil 5. Hopefully this movie can finally tell us what has happened since then. There's always a lot of unanswered questions with this.
From the design standpoint, i believe this going to took place after Vendetta. If that really the case, that means Jill finally actually returned after a long break. Hopefully she gets to be her badass self in this one. Despite I loved Vendetta and enjoyed the CGI entries, it have its flaws and still have loose ends. I hope for them to tie up those ends, at least few of them. And hopefully Leon, Jill and Chris actually meeting up for the first time ever.

in that wide shot of the prison hallway, it looks like Chris has been put in a cell. Maybe he cries Zombie and somebody doesn't like it, so they lock him up. And then a Zombie happens.
Honestly, I'm personally glad that Jill is making her return after being sorta MIA in previous RE installments aside from RE3 Remake. Hopefully, we'll get to see her interact with fellow Racoon City survivor Leon, given how she was still technically in Raccoon by the time of Leon and Claire's arrival.
I'm never right on theories but I think this would be interesting.. -Have Death Island take place sometime during 2015, shortly after the events of Vendetta. -Build up to the next Revelations installment and have the next game take place after the events of Death Island and before the events of Resident Evil 7. -Make Revelations 3 and bring back all the OG characters (Chris, Jill, Leon, Rebecca, Claire, Barry) and have the antagonist be Alex Wesker, who returns after taking back consciousness over Natalia.
That's definitely Maria. Looking at that shadowy figure, you can see the shirt collar of her top, which is the same as the outfit she wore before. And since Glen Arias had access to Tricell's research that included the T-Abyss, which was obtained for them through Raymond and Jessica, she's probably using the virus (or an improved version) to create the chaos in the prison (possibly as a way to lure Chris and Leon into a trap). I think its safe to say Jill's scene is a flashback to introduce her into the movie universe for people who haven't played the games. She was 23 in RE3, and Leon was 21 in RE2. Leon is clearly in his 30's here so I'd expect post RE5 Jill as well

I remember when Degeneration and Infinite Darkness took place after 4 and before 5, and how Damnation was before 6. But after but since there was no films with tie ins or hints for the new story about 7 or 8 I've been wondering about that?
Yeah Vendetta was after RE6 which through many people off since Capcom changed Chris' appearance so drastically for 7, then back to normal again for 8.
I'm kinda going with the idea that the Jill shot is a flashback, not only is it literally a copy paste job from her appearance in RE3re (Ugh no tank top) but if you look at the pistol she fires it seems to be a berretta suggesting its her Samurai Edge, Chris and Jill don't seem to keep their Samurai Edges past their time in Raccoon City, cept as bonus weapons. Though admittedly normal berretta's do pop up in games like RE5. How/why it would be a flashback and if that means she won't be in the present events I don't know... but I wonder if the flashback shot is to keep her new "blonde" appearance a secret while still showing off that she's gonna be in the game? I know most people want her to go back to being a burnette but I'd love it if they kept her a blonde as a sort of scar.

Likely yes. It's unsure if Chris was able to get Jill to leave the BSAA since they were likely watching her closely and if he did maybe she stuck around to give Chris an inside woman.
It's interesting but RE5 and RE6 (I know, I know) showed that while these people are aware of each other, they haven't all met before. RE5 Chris mentions to HQ that the people are acting like the Ganado's in the Kennedy report and RE6 is when they actually officially meet each other in person (you'd think this would happen sooner since both have been in regular-ish contact with Claire and Chris has even met Sherry before between games).
I'd imagine Jill met much of the gang though. I mean she worked with Chris along S.T.A.R.S. so she must've met Claire at some point, considering that was his sister. And Chris knew Leon before RE6. He got Claire's location from him in Code Veronica.

I was saying before that what they are doing is that Resident Evil 7&8 are apart of the new timeline that resides within the remakes. The original timeline 1-5 isn’t canon anymore since the events are possibly different in the new timeline and Jill from remake being in this confirms my theory on the timeline switch. Once they remake 1 all they need to do is 5 and maybe 6 but I doubt 6 then it’s a complete timeline. We just don’t have all the pieces yet.
Capcom's official stance on the remakes vs the classics is that it's all the same stories, just different "accounts" of their retelling. So a blend of everything

Like this version of Jill is way past 5 but somehow manages to look as she does in remake and does not have the scar from the scarab. Which means that the timeline which the remakes started is the main timeline we are following and the events of 5 were similar but small things could have been changed like instead of the scarab and Jill brainwashed stuff it was something different or the same and done differently

Re 1 is rumored to be getting remade as well so as I said things are different in the world we are in right now. The big moments are still the same just not in the way we completely know. The only reason Chris looked different in 7 is because they wanted to do a real face model and the original model didn’t mesh well with the actor they chose. They chose that specific version of Jill for a reason otherwise she would look as she did in the original games but she doesn’t because they aren’t canon anymore lol

Though the beginning of the teaser does show Chris(in his tropical shirt) next to a woman with Jill's hairstyle, so it's very possible that Jill is with Chris when they are touring Alcatraz. Also yes that is Maria and yes Rebecca is coming back.

As far as the remake goes Capcom hasen't explicitly done or shown anything that that throws out the original games and replaces them with the remake, the only acceptation I can think of is Lisa Trevor showing up in Umbrella Chronicles but there are alot of things in that games retelling of events of past events that can be chalked up to "It's to make the game funner". So her losing her Samurai Edge in the remake dosent mean much. She IS holding a berretta on the boat with Parker in the beginning of Revelations though her Samurai Edge is only a DLC bonus gun.
I WANT TO SEE IT! Now that I have that out of my system: 1. Hopefully there IS a chance to see all 4 (yes, 4) surviving members of the (now) defunct STARS together even in only one scene since Barry and Rebecca are advisors in the BSAA guiding Jill, Chris and Leon through the place and (hopefully) see Terrasave come in doing their humanitarian work with Claire among the ranks. 2. Either the T-Abyss or the A-virus seems to be used (maybe even both combined in some form) 3. The mosquitoes might explain the purple dots coming from whatever surfaced from the water 4. Even though canonical debate might be questionable for this: you forgot Danger Island and Heavenly Island (the former is one of the comics from years ago while the latter is a manga that's more recent) There are lots of things that are still up in the air like you said, however answers will come; we just need to be patient.
Psycho pass and assassination classroom are considered 2 really good anime series. Well season one psycho pass the other seasons aren't so good but if it's the first season then it will be a good story

Chris was still part of the BSAA in RE7 he was just loaned out to supervise Umbrella because they can't legally operate on their own.

She did lose her hair color from the experiments but she could always just dye her hair. Women do it all the time under normal circumstances.
