I have taken delivery of my very first BMW. A 2021 Z4 S30i M Sport Premium with Lava Red interior. and Adaptive Suspension. I have owned several Roadsters. They are my preferred vehicle as I live on the central Gulf Coast of Florida. I must say that I am very very impressed with the new Z4. It is very responsive and its acceleration in Sport Plus mode is exhilarating. The look is aggressive without being boy racer. The fit and finish both inside and out is excellent. The seats are very comfortable. My only gripe is with the Nav System. It is NOT Intuitive. My wife's 2020 Cadillac XT5 Nav system is FAR SUPERIOR. Far more Intuitive. We both grasped its use without ever needing to refer to the manual. The Nav System in the Z4 is anything but intuitive. It's 180 degrees opposite of that. This is my/our only major gripe with the Z4. Everything else about it is absolutely fantastic. I considered the Z4 M40i but, it simply isn't worth the money. $14K for a shorter 1.1 seconds to 60 simply is an outrageous amount of money to pay for the small increase in straight-line performance. This green light advantage is really the only thing the M40i has going for it. It's simply not worth $14,000 dollars to get it.
@@JoseSanchez-fi2ms No. The 20i is not available in the USA. Even if it were I never would have considered it. The performance specs are just not something I would ever consider. I did test drive the 30i M Sport and the M40i. And, for me, I determined that the 14000 dollar premium for the inline 6 was a joke. I just could not wrap my mind around paying that sum for an inline 6. It raises the price to the point close to C8 Corvette territory and the C8 is FAR Superior to the Z4 M40i. It's not even debatable. I ended up ordering the S30i M Sport with select additional upgrades that I wanted. I love my Z4 M Sport as configured. My wife does as well.
I have ordered the 2021 Z4 s30i M Sport with the Dynamic Handling Package and the Premium Package with Lava Red interior. I drove the M40i and while much quicker in a straight line it is unbalanced in the Twisties which is my domain. The s30i M Sport has a perfect 50/50 balance and in the Twisties, it shines. It is a true pleasure to drive through narrow old back roads. And, it is also plenty comfortable for a nice long weekend drive for a getaway. It is the perfect balance of fun and comfort with enough trunk space for a nice getaway with your girl. Who, if you don't get totally bonkers with the accelerator will be smiling nicely the entire trip. Excellent review!
What a great review! Sensible and realistic - really captured the nature and intention of the car. I South Africa we only have the options of either the 20i or the M40i - I ended up opting for the latter and it is without a doubt the best car I’ve ever had. Absolutely brilliant all rounder!
Excellent review. This z4 3L is gorgeous. I'm impressed by the capacity of the rear trunk, the comfort of the driver's seat and headrest and the performance. 0-60 in 5 sec and then sport mode with shift paddles or comfort for calm and relaxed driving when queuing in traffic. Congratulations my friend, it is clear that you really liked this beautiful sports car. Bye 😃👍👍
@@BrownCarGuy the Bullitt Mustang is no more, replaced by the Mach 1, and is priced from $65k. The Supra 3.0 is the same price in Canada 🇨🇦 Which one to get? 🤔 I’ll have to spend time with both, before I answer that 😁
Talking about the 4 cyl engine on the 20i and 30i. I understand that the 30i comes with a single turbo and the 20i comes with the same engine without a turbo. Was the engine created for this model or has some history. What is the reliability expected on this 4 cyl engine?
Not sure - BMW always mix and match engines across its range, with slightly different states of tune. The same motors also appear in the new Supra too.
@@BrownCarGuy did you notice any turbo lag? Between the 20i and the 30i, would there be any reason why you'd go for the first over the second, or is it a no brainer to go for the 30i?

Looks and drives good, I prefer the look of BMW to that of the Supra!
I may agree!
Great review 😎
This is a really good review. You hit all the details.. Bravo! Subscribed.
So kind of you. Thanks!
Fantastic review
Thank you kindly
Nice review bud! I think that the 30i is probably the sweet spot in the range. Off for a test drive tomorrow!
Enjoy!

Great review .what other model car would u compare and then which one would u buy.
Thanks! Porsche 718 Boxster, Corvette, Jaguar F-Type etc. I'd go Elise myself - pure driving pleasure!
Wauw, I buy one, the car is coming end of may
I can’t wait
Awesome - congrats!
Yay!!! Shahzad is back 🥳 The new Z4 is awesome, but they’ve priced it wrong. The M40i model is more money than a C8 Corvette convertible in Canada 😬
Yeah it’s expensive here too, but the Supra even moreso. 3.0 Supra is £55k starting 😲
Bullitt Mustang £49k starting - which would you have?

We still have the Bullitt here. Mach 1 looks so tasty 😋

Hola me puedes decir la diferencia de potencia con el 20i si tienen el mismo motor es sólo electrónica
If I’ve understood your question correctly (Google translate) yes the difference is about 60bhp.
You really should do a review of Honda N Box its a revolutionary car
Would love to!
Loved it👍
Thanks ✌️
A BMW with a grill you can live with! Just joking by end of this year we will all get used to the bid a** ones on the 3 and 4 series!
