I define self care as me having a relationship with God before my kids . God gives me the strength to have to confidence and wisdom to take care of the rest of the people and things around me . God give you the clarity that you need to see how you can better take care of your kids . Also see the things in you that you need to work on in order to present the best version of yourself . Psalms 139:23-24
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I understand that everyone’s self-care journey is unique, and it can look different for each person. For me, building a strong relationship with God has been key-He gives me the strength and wisdom to serve others, especially my baby boy. I also believe that taking time for self-care apart from God helps us better understand ourselves, how to live harmoniously with others, and why God created us the way He did.
@@ReclaimYourDivine the only difference between what you said and what I said is “ taking time away from God to discover self . One can’t know self unless God reveal self to you . He created us so his the only one to tell us about us . That’s why I stated Psalms 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: Psalms 139:24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. . Indeed Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. It doesn’t necessarily specify which type of wisdom. I assume it could also include taking care of self
@@FloraHerena Dada, I think we share a similar perspective. If you consider the words I've chosen, it’s clear that I believe God plays a crucial role in guiding us toward the self-care we need. Moreover, I also believe that nurturing our physical bodies can bring us closer to God, allowing us to better understand what our spirits require for nourishment. When you take care of your physical body is also a way to honor God. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Taking care of my body also deepens my spiritual connection. Activities like walking in nature make me feel more present and connected to something greater which is God for me . Conversely, when I neglect my physical health, my mental and spiritual states suffer.
@ my sister I think you are contradicting yourself especially with the scripture you mentioned. Our body is a temple yes .1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? Who’s in the temple ? The Holy Ghost ! What are the characteristics of the Holy Ghost? What are the qualities and attributes of the Holy Ghost? That’s what should be in you which means that’s what our focus should be . Colossians 3:1-2 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. One should never focus on what makes them happy. Remember what 1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. Everything you do should glorify God not self . Once you focus on God . God gives you the confidence you need for your day to day activities. Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength: Proverbs 3:26 For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
Well said👏🏽
