Here is my version: 2 cups of brown rice or sorghum flour, 1 cup of starch, potato or tapioca or arrowroot, which is what I use, or any starch, 1/2 cup sticky rice also called sweet rice, 2 tablespoons coconut rice. I am going to keep experimenting with different flours and starches and using more coconut flour and bean flours.
Hey Munchies! Here are some of my favorite processed snacks, cleaned up! What are your favorite processed snacks? Anything you want me to remake? 😁 Love you muNch! Remember to sub to my 2nd channel if you like pizza! bit.ly/eatthepizza 🍕🍕
I just want to to say that you can totally tell how much work is put into these videos! They are always so fun to watch and I definitely appreciate your hard work to make healthy eating as enjoyable as possible, keep up the good work!!!
unfortunately I have celiac so I can't eat the processed stuff so i can't wait to make these with my gluten free flour! Also maybe you could find a way on how to make a healthier version of puff pastry?
St. Blaise PLEASE let me know if you try a Gluten Free version and how it went. Let me know what you used. I typically only use Pillsbury GF all purpose flour.
St. Blaise same here. In my country we have a great gf brand, that is also healthy af :D they have many variations but almost every one of them is Free from gluten, milk, soy, egg, sugar, yeast, corn, potato, rice, baking flour. For this I would probably use one that says: Ingredients: whole grain buckwheat flour, tapioca flour, whole grain millet flour, psyllium seed husks flour, bamboo fiber flour, sodium carbonate (soda), citric acid.
YEEEESSSSS! So happy for the DIY Goldfish recipe. I've been meaning to try making my own forever, for my kids' lunches. Love the non-processed idea, but also NO PACKAGING, which makes me so happy! I bought a mini cat cookie cutter a few months ago for DIY crackers, so now I can use it! Thanks!! :)
Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos! The perfect cut-outs and alignments on the baking sheet are so pleasing to the eye lol! It does not go unnoticed!! :)
it would have to be a solid fat for the ritz and gold fish so butter would be the sub. For the gold fish it MAY be able to be another vegetable oil but I'm not really sure... It might be hard to roll out. Butter would work for all of them.
inspired by your recipes here i made AMAZING cookies yesterday!! i combined oat and spelt flour, baking powder with the mixture of blended dates, cashews, almonds and a teaspoon of coconut cream and baked it all for about 8 minutes. it was so delicious despite being sugar free!!!!
Aside from the superb content, we cannot overlook how much creativity goes to all your videos. It is so well presented all the time. Production on the dot. Please continue to make more content. 😊
I love your channel! You are so informative and have helped me with my new, healthier lifestyle! Thank you so much for all your hard work and keep the videos coming! ❤️
I don't know what color gold fish have because they aren't available here but adding turmeric should make them more golden, no? I think I will try this and take them with me to the next party! :)
So cool! And as you say, so easy to over indulge when you don't take the time to make them. So this is perfect to savour healthier snacks and enjoy preparing them. Thank you so much, you are always giving us the best tips and ideas to eat better and tastier. Love from Barcelona!!!
thanks! I have a slow cooker BBQ chicken recipe that I shared in a bento video (check the playlist) and I also have a BBQ sauce coming in a meal prep video soon!
Thank you so much for the goldfish recipe! My son is autistic and goldfish is one of the only foods he loves to eat. He can eat a whole big box if I would let him in one day. This is going to make such a difference to his ever growing tummy.😃 thank you again.
I recently became kinda health conscious and started eating cleaner. Your channel inspired me a lot and I subscribed right away. Can't wait to see more of my favorite food's healthified versions. Love you.
Hi, sweet adorable Alyssia. Your DIY snacks are truly DA BOMB!!! If there was an Academy Award for Best RUclips Healthy Channel, you'd definitely win it. What's the best way to use your salt and pepper? Have a good day, sweet adorable Alyssia. 💖💖💖🌹
My two grandsons are 3 & 4, they adore baking in the kitchen with me, they even have their own aprons .....we can't wait to try these!! Ordering the goldfish cutout now!! hugs from Texas!!
Alyssia you are certainly an artist... What amazing substitutes to the industry's favorites. I recognize the effort you put on and the spotless presentations. I got inspired by your recipes... I will try them myself at home! Cheers!
thanks Jennifer! Yes for sure :) I think I've shown healthy croutons a long time ago in my bread episode but will brainstorm how to get them in again :)
I don't now how you make your videos so good!! When I see them I'am always so happy and motivated to eat healthy !! That you so much that you but so much effort in those amazing videos!! Thank you 😘
Nice! Like you, I get very weak when I see my students eat goldfish for breaktime! But I know it's not good for me so I've been putting off buying a new bag of it for a few months! But now the recipe is here! Thank you sooooo much! Such a lifesaver!
Thank you so much for all the hard work you put into these videos. I especially love the PDFs I can download. And I can't emphasis enough how helpful it is that you put the nutritional info in there so I can keep track of nutrition and calories and stay on track while still trying new things. I am going to pick up your bento book next month and I can't wait! Thank you!
I've come to love your recipes. I don't like baking as much as cooking, but I made your pop tarts and I was so happy that my daughter loved a healthier alternative! It's worth the extra work, and you appreciate the food more (we don't indulge on more than necessary). I can't wait to try the Ritz crackers!
I like these becuz I can start making my own stuff on a weekend with my new prepping and then my kids will have a healthier version of some of their favorite snacks
These are great alternative recipes! I would actually go to the effort to make these. Beautiful video, too. One thing that I love about your videos is that they focus on visuals of the food without feeling disconnected/disembodied from you, the chef. I think your lovely and engaging voice helps to achieve this. It feels like I'm in the kitchen with you. P.S.: Is there something I can sub for coconut oil in the goldfish if I don't have any?
Thank you so much, I really appreciate that! So glad you are enjoying the videos and your feedback means the world :) You'll need a solid fat for these recipes, so butter would be the way to go without the coconut oil :)
You are just awesome!!! How cool is the idea of the screenshot option in the video itself?! Thank you so much! I really admire all the work you put in your video!!! Very much appreciated!!!
Love this. I am gonna try this for my toddler. He loves goldfish but I don’t give him more then 2-3 but this is game changer. Oh also can you please share recipe with the measurements of how much of all the ingredients that would really help. Thank you for doing this.❤️😊🙏🏼
Me and my kids love your videos! They think your hilarious :) We use your videos for some of our health curriculum too, we homeschool and it's nice to have videos that give actual information that is useful! We all loved your cereal videos!
they'll last about a week in room temperature. Goldfish and graham crackers in an airtight container, the ritz do better with a little air so they don't get soft :)
Now subscribed! Your videos and your recipes are so amazing! I love the idea that we don't have to stop enjoying our favorite snacks because we can do it ourselves more healthier!
Awesome so glad to have you here! Thank you!! And yes, if we were making our own snacks and treats, we wouldn't be indulging in the same way that we might with store-bought snacks!! I try to keep this in mind :)
1. why coconut oil? 2. have you done fruit leathers or no-sugar dried fruit that I've missed. 3. definitely going to try the partially hydrogen free crackers. roofers.
This is an amazing video and very informative with a fresh clear perspective! I feel like I could totally do this! Those goldfish crackers might be my first choice to try since my little girls beg for them each time we go to the store! thanks!!
I accidentally made a 2 ingredient chocolate spread the other day (as part of an experimental chocolate cake) by combining greek vanilla yoghurt and cocoa powder. Idk if it's healthier than the normal spreads but it tasted delicious so I just wanted to share.
Perfect! I also wanted to say thank you because I have been doing my best to help my sister live a healthier lifestyle and pick foods that are better fuel for her body and your videos have helped so much!!! From your videos on bread choices, to your videos on "healthy" processed foods!!
Butter would be the option because these need a solid fat. If you don't like the taste of coconut oil try triple filtered coconut oil because it doesn't have the taste or aroma of coconut :)
I was looking back at previous recipes. I'm looking for a black bean burger. If you haven't made a video for one yet, can you? Not sure what's better to use oats, quinoa, bread crumbs
Probably the most favorite episode for me, learned how to make my three favorite snacks, that too the healthy version. When I saw the thumbnail image I thought you would suggest what healthy snacks to eat, didn't realize the recipes would follow too. How do you come up with the recipes? You must experiment with food all the time. The fishies look so cute, better than the store bought ones.
thank you so much! I am constantly in the kitchen! I actually start my recipe development process by researching recipes that aren't designed to be healthy, and then start to make modifications for healthier ingredients. Then I get in the kitchen and work around it! The more I do it the easier it gets :)

Mind Over Munch How do I make it guleten free
olly2027 I have the same question
Mind Over Munch Excellent! I want to make the Graham crackers the Most, but definitely want to make all of them!
Also, I would want to use Coconut Flour instead of oat flour
the slo-mo test tubes falling out of the box complete with dramatic music was hilarious
lol 😂 we had fun with it. Thank you!

Mind Over Munch do you have a favourite GF all purpose? I have been using Cloud 9 but am not in love with it and would like to explore other options
I was thinking that as I was watching . I am excited to try these.

yummmm! I agree, I love the cookie alone! Thanks for the suggestion :)
Yaas!
MaggieOnline you took the words right out of my mouth!
Agreed - did you know that they are accidentally vegan? Still it would be good to make a better version of them.
MaggieOnline Chocolate Covered Katie has a recipe and it is bomb!
If I had a dollar for every time you made me laugh, I would have enough money to rent you for my next party♡♡♡
thanks for being you!

Flavor blasted Goldfish are my ultimate weakness when it comes to snack food cravings - I am SO excited to try your recipe!
omg so good! I love literally every goldfish flavor I think!
How long can I save them for in the pantry before I can’t consume any them more
These are great alternative recipes! I would actually go to the effort to make these.

What is your recommendation for storing these snacks and about how long will they keep?
they'll last about a week in room temperature. Goldfish and graham crackers in an airtight container, the ritz do better with a little air so they don't get soft :)
Sounds like a great alternative to store bought! Would make a nice gift assortment or party platter offerings.
great idea!
I can’t even imagine how hard you work on editing and content!!! Thank you so much!!
Also, I've been looking for a healthier alternative to graham crackers for my key lime pie so I'm excited to try those too! Thanks!
oh yum! Let me know how it works with the pie :)
They all look phenomenal!
thank you!
All of these diy sback look so good and easy to make. I can't wait to try it out.😊

Coconut oil is a fat that can be solid in form, so it is a great substitute for butter. I did do fruit leathers in the bento box series/eBook :)
Wow!! Totally saved this for my recipes so I can try to do healthier versions of stuff.
thank you :) enjoy!
Can't wait to try the ritz and the graham crackers. Also love the screen shot recipes! Thanks.
great! Thank you :) Glad you are enjoying!
Thank you so much for these healthy yet delicious 🍪 🍪

These sound amazing! I can't wait to try them! My 3 year old is a goldfish addict!
thank you!! They are so good!!
Do you know if olive oil or grapeseed oil would do the same effect to crackers as coconut oil? Will be there any difference?
is the dough freezeable? like I prep it out freeze a bunch and only pop a small try in the oven when I want a snack??
How long will these three last when storing? Your channel has changed my life. Thank you :)
5-7 days :)
Absolutely LOVE this video!!! I will probably make all of these lol my kids and I love these snacks! And yes love the recipe cards! 👍🏻

How long will these snacks be good for? A couple days?? Thanks for the video!
about a week :) Thank you!
How long do these store for ? I love this idea.

You are the best! I discovered your channel a few days ago and I loved! Thank you!
That's so awesome, thanks! Welcome to the channel!! Happy to have you here!
Yay! Thank you. Love this so much!!! The issue I have with homemade is the shelf life. How long would you say these last?
they last about a week :) Mine were gone before a week so I couldn't really see how much longer 🤣🤣
This is GREAT!! I will make all of these recipes
Thank you! :)
Hi Alyssia, love your videos. What can I use if I don't want to use coconut oil?
Butter would be the option because these need a solid fat. If you don't like the taste of coconut oil try triple filtered coconut oil because it doesn't have the taste or aroma of coconut :)
Thank you from the heart for you efforts I wish you success
thank you so so much!
The intro was sooooo creative!!!!
thank you!!
I was looking back at previous recipes. I'm looking for a black bean burger. If you haven't made a video for one yet, can you? Not sure what's better to use oats, quinoa, bread crumbs
I have a black bean burger recipe in this episode that uses oats! :)

how would you store these snacks and how long can you store them for?
These look amazing!! I need to try them all!
I hope you can!
what did u set oven for the graham crackers? what temp?
