This is what I want. I’m turning my 4 bdrm home over to my daughter and her family. I’m being moved to garage. I have very mixed feelings because it’s a garage. But this plan is what I want. Ha! Granny flat is just a term used to describe the structure, otherwise referred to as an ADU, accessory dwelling unit. You're right though - stairs are not the best decision if building an ADU for aging parents.
