Welcome to the NF family. He’s going to speak to you and PTSD like no other artist has. He lost his mom to drug addiction and it scarred him tremendously. He was also abused and lived in his own war zone. Start from the beginning and keep going. His journey is emotionally beautiful and relatable. This is one of my favorites and if you want just one suggestion, “I can feel it” is another one of my favs. Thank you for your service. I work with combat vets who have PTSD. You’ll love NF.

This song helped me put a voice to all of the pain I felt inside but was too prideful to admit. I was never in the military, but we all have demons that suck the joy out of our lives. NF has helped all of us with his abilty to put words to feelings. Thanks for sharing some of your story.

The “long” list of songs is all the songs that connect to each previous songs. This is not a typical artist. He loves movies and built his projects like marvel films.
He hides eggs in his videos as well.
That is why people ask for the the journey to be taken.
    He connected all six albums.

I appreciate your transparency. Thank you for your service; I’m heartbroken it has taken such a toll on you.
As I struggled with depression, this song spoke to me too. In the depths, I struggled with addiction and suicidal thoughts… NF’s song “How could you leave us” pulled me out of my own head and made me realize what my kids would experience if I left. Maybe not next, but sometime, when you’re ready.

This song means a lot to me. I lost my 30 year old daughter unexpectedly in 2020. I heard this song 2 weeks after she died. I was bawling, sobbing on the couch one day. I was crying out to God to take the pain away. I kept hearing this voice saying, "listen to music". I couldn't shake it, so I turned RUclips on and this song right here came up. I was shook! This song describes how I felt and still feel to this day. Great reaction. NF is excellent and a very special artist.

NF music has a way of bringing up bottled up anger, sadness, and self torment and putting it in your face making you deal with it then and there! We all have demons...some more than others and especially our troops over seas. I lost one of my best friends years ago in Iraq. Semper Fi Cpl Dustin Sides! Always missed! Never forgotten!

This song connects deeply to me as a person. I've suffered from emotional numbing for a majority of my life, fo the point where its become my normal. It took years, and only until I met my GF back in 8th grade that I saw a ray of light. I am now 21. I developed depression and emotional numbness in 5th grade and battled it for my entire life. This song hurts in such a close but relatable way.

This is one of the first songs I heard from NF when I got out, nit THE first but it hit hard. I was medically discharge due to injuries. I'll Keep On was the first song I heard and it came on the radio at a moment I was really struggling with the transition to civilian life. Almost two decades of my life and it was a truly a culture shock coming back. NF had just released Mansion album and I bought it for the song on the radio. I never related to the lyrics of songs like I did with NF. It actually helped me articulate the things I had bottled up.

Kids in foster care on average are slightly higher of the risk of ptsd. Which is quite a testament to how much ones childhood traumas can effect us for a lifetime. I have a similar childhood to nf and can relate to this song heavily as well. So many people live and suffer with this illnesses and some never even know it. Knowing its also only part of it, because a lot of the time asking for help and not relying solely on one else can be one of the hardest things to do.

I highly suggest I'll Keep On, on the Mansion album it is the very next song, and I 100% believe it was on purpose. The one after is Can You Hold Me Ft. Britt Nichole, a beautiful singer, Nate sings more in that song. All 3 are the last songs on the album and by far 3 of my favorite songs by NF.

My NF friend! Thank you brother for serving I’m also a vet, but wanted to share my thoughts on my journey with NF so maybe it’ll help you on yours. I found this song while laying in a hospital bed in Memphis after my wreck and being bedridden for a little over a year now, learning to walk again at 45 and your going to hear it again and again that NF finds everyone just when he’s supposed to, I believe that! But maybe the jury is still out with some people! But my point is it’s your journey and up to you to what you want to listen to and how you receive it, for me personally I wanted to hear every damn song well because I was bedridden and had the time but also because of the messages and medication it gave me on a daily basis brother. See you next time sir

I had an extremely traumatic and hard life growing up. And once I got out of high school I married thinking that the abuse would end finally and it actually only got worse. I have lived such a very traumatizing life that sleeping has became a thing of the past. My son was murdered on Feb. 25, 2016 at 10:52 p.m. on my arm’s and each time I close my eye’s to even try and sleep I relive each traumatic experience and most therapist/psychiatrist say you dream in black & white and I’ve never dreamt in black & white! I see every color! And what’s insane is when I do try and sleep I see my baby begging for me to please not let him die. I hear his last heartbeat all over again & I hear his last breath ALL OVER AGAIN! And it’s as if it’s stuck on repeat and I relive it over and over and I end up hyperventilating and having severe panic & anxiety attacks! I can’t go to stores anymore around crowds of people. I used to be so vivacious and full of life but through all of what I’ve went through I am no longer that girl that everyone loved and enjoyed being around. I used to enjoy having friends over but now I sit alone in my room within 4 walls with not a soul to talk to. No one calls me, text me, checks up on me or has even asked me how I’m doing since losing Corey the way that I did. I thought all of the sexual assaults and bearings changed me (and I’m not saying that it didn’t) but losing my son knowing every single bit of that night could’ve & SHOULD’VE been prevented and that my own ex is the reason my baby is gone and he feels nothing for what he did I believe is what hurts my heart the most! I feel soooo much guilt because he begged me to not let him die and I couldn’t save him. And then my bestfriend/oldest brother (he was 14yr older than I am) was brutally murdered September 18, 2023 at approx 10:46 a.m. and laid there waiting on help from that time till after 4:30 p.m. he had his neck broken in 2 places, his left jaw was broken in 2 places and he had a HUGE blunt force trauma attack to the back of his skull. So to say my precious brother suffered is an understatement! And he’d called me at 9:46 a.m. that morning and I cannot help but to think had I not missed his call could I have saved his life?? I replay that weekend before he passed like a movie over and over constantly like I’m trying to come up with scenarios on how I could’ve possibly prevented it from ever happening. My therapist says that I have got to stop placing the blame of his death and my firstborn only son’s death on myself because none of it was EVER my fault! But I still cannot help it! I do the same with all of the sexual abuse and physical abuse that I endured as well. I was only 4 when it all started but it’s like I relive it thinking that I can make my life easier somehow. Happier. But I can’t. The night my son passed in my arm’s the woman I was before he left this world left with him. I’m no longer that same person. I do not even recognize the person I see in the mirror anymore! I don’t know her. I am no longer even living I’m merely existing in a constant loop of what feels like a nightmare that I just cannot wake up from. I don’t have just PTSD I have CPTSD which is worse because it’s made up of several extremely traumatic experiences not one certain one. I have had 2 full psych breaks and 3 mental breakdowns. And a psych break is a lot worse than a mental breakdown. I am trained in reading people (I have a master’s in psychology) plus I’ve trained with some of the best of the best too. I am also highly trained in fighting/protection. Street fighting, boxing/kickboxing and 6 forms of martial arts. I used to have such self control and never allowed what would be considered a minor altercation to even phase me. Now I like for them to happen because it’s like I love the fighting of out the pain of it all to help heal what actual therapy cannot touch. Yess I’ve been diagnosed as having blind rage and intermittent explosive disorder along with bipolar disorder, BPD, severe manic episodes with very deep low episodes. I also have chronic anxiety and panic attacks as well. I struggle daily just to even live. I played this song for my psychiatrist and my therapist and both of them cried… it speaks every single aspect of my life though! It’s as if Nate was telling my story.

Totally understand what u mean by the song may not have been about the military, but they really are the same nnonetheless. Part of my depression was losing my father who served in the military when I was only 4 and having to grow up without him trying to be a man all on my own. I was too young to understand as I was only 4, but from what my mom has told me and my siblings, after he came home from war he died in his sleep due to his injuries right in our living room on the couch. He never was the same when he came back home and I used to cry blaming him for everything, but I realized as I got older that his mind was gone and it was not his fault for anything, he didn't plan to come home to his family a broken man and painfully a dead man. I miss him everyday and I see my dad in you sir, I love you more than ya know ❤ R.I.P. Miguel Mendoza, hope you are at ease, smiling and laughing now 😢 💔 🕊 🕊

Thanking you for your service is such a minimal expression. You so clearly articulated the real cost to war...so many heros returning with scars the public can't see. You said you want to be "normal" again and I hope you see many coming along side you, armed with some of the words from poets like NF to be able to not only express your trauma, but find community in helping one another...and like you said find joy in helping others! I pray for you and your family and the pain you feel and have caused before recognizing your PTSD, but also I pray for your new power as a man to help others repair their lives....to find normal whatever that looks like for each of you.
Thank you for placing and continuing to place your life ...your whole life, in danger for our freedom and safety of the world. Thank you for not letting me miss the continued pain you and your brothers and sister experience when I think "the war is over". May God bless you

Lastly, I hope you can find the feeling again, even if it won't be the same. Thanks for all the great vids! 👊

NF Doesn't mess around, whatever he speaks about hits hard. That is what is beautiful about music, it can speak to each and every one of us and we can relate it to our own life. Great reaction and I thank you for your Candor. Also thanks for your service!

I recently connected with a vet, he was neighbors with lady I worked with, fixed her mower so she recommended him to help me get mine fixed, end up hanging out when picking it up, he breaks out with coke straight from Columbia, which this mf is missing an arm...we talked for hours, told me about the different people he killed and everything, told me only person ever told...bunch of stuff...which yo this guy with 1 damn arm and what he could accomplish and devices he made ... but yeah even tho wasn't me I carry that sh*t with me, along with others....idk why but since like 12 people just air everything out to me and doesn't leave, not to mention all the other sh*t personally been thru

I know that's real when you're able to connect to people like that you feel it deep in your stomach and chest, almost nauseating sometimes it takes a long time to deal with stuff like that.

Great reaction. I found NF before I joined the military but NF finds a way to write all his songs to relate to everyone in different ways. I think it would be great if you just went through all his songs one by one. Anyway have a great day man.

I fully get you. I suffer with cptsd and this song hits on so many different levels. Have lived with it for 30+ years. The numbness inside is something I wouldn't wish on anyone. I just did what everyone said and that was man up, which isn't right. If you're struggling people need to understand it's ok not to be ok. I get what you say about you not being the same when you came back. I finally hit rock bottom and was so close to ending it all. I seeked help and now am on the road to recovery slowly. Anyway a message to all in that struggle just know it is ok to be not OK, it's ok to seek help. The help is there for you. Don't let it get the better of you. Much love to you all ❤️

I hear you Brother. From one Veteran to another thank you so much for your Service👊 I am hearing you loud and clear. With your own testimony holy shit does that hit hard mate. Very similar to my own despite not going to Iraq.
Same as you I didn't know what the fuck was wrong with me. I just knew I was spiralling. An absolute fucking lunatic barely managing to hang on by my fingernails. For me it was 2016 where I was told the cause of everything. I went nuts at the psych for that.
Afterwards my counsellor taught me management and things got tolerable. Sometimes (if not often) even good or great. Why I got into helping Veterans and young men. Teaching them management. And like you, this song hits me like a shot to the nuts. Because it is so close to where I was and somewhat still am. I HEAR you Brother👊

the one thing that nf does for a lot of people is let them know they are not alone. and you brother are not alone i cant even bein to imagine what you have to deal with from you time in the military but after seeing my dad become a drunk after vietnam and my brother becoming addicted to drugs just to numb the things he not only witnessed but had to do. but the worst for my brother was his survivors guilt. i used to feel this way but over the years ive had people in my corner who taught me that who i am is enough. and i also understand about the dreams. i would have graphic nightmares as a child due to some of the things i went thru and when i say graphic i mean blood torture among others things. just remeber you are never alone

What is normality it is nothing more than a concept of what you think you should be but it’s not who you are it’s non existent like time and immortality and no matter what you do you won’t be able to reach it so just be you not what others think you should be
